Chapter 962: Extermination of the Clan
Like cannonballs—or something beyond that—every leap and landing of Sakata Kintoki was accompanied by massive tremors, thunderous fire, and the collapse of buildings.
The surroundings had been engulfed by thunder and fire, transforming into a sea of flames. Sparks, lifted by the hot air, floated upwards into the sky, which had already turned a shade of orange-red.
"Still as violent as ever," remarked the maid with a slight shake of her head. Her true body wasn't present, being on the other side of the ocean, but that didn't prevent her from employing some of her powers here. Yōu Yè looked down at the child lying flat on the ground.
The faint soul flame of the child was nearly extinguished but displayed an unusually strong will to survive.
Yōu Yè shook her head and said calmly, "The transformation technique we sold has become your misfortune. Today... consider it reclaimed."
Sakata Kintoki was sent for the retrieval.
The maid's expression was calm as she crouched down, placing her palm on the child's forehead. She whispered, "Body creation..."
The child's wounds began to heal, new flesh sprouting rapidly. Even the gouged-out eyes were regenerating slowly.
Resolving the matter here quickly was crucial—especially considering the temporary awakening of Sakata Kintoki.Yōu Yè contemplated how to clean up the situation. Long ago, she had asked her new master whether to recall the Black Soul agents currently on vacation. The master had the authority to end their leave instantly. However, doing so would refund their vacation costs proportionally.
The master declined, preferring the agents to return after their leave ended naturally.
As Yōu Yè pondered, she sensed something and tilted her head slightly toward the shadowy corner of a burning building nearby.
The intense flames weakened briefly, as though brushed by a wind, before regaining their ferocity.
The maid smiled faintly, saying, "So, two mischievous ones who escaped from Yan Wuyue are here... and they seem to be enjoying themselves."
She dismissed the thought and returned her focus to the child's ongoing body creation.
"Perhaps this will do." The maid suddenly smiled. She was undoubtedly a perfectionist.
At that moment, a massive golden axe materialized in mid-air—the very one Sakata Kintoki wielded. It had grown hundreds of times larger, composed entirely of thunder and fire, and descended straight toward the Takizawa family’s ancient castle.
---
Flames engulfed the surroundings, seemingly heralding the Takizawa family’s end. Takizawa Lola frowned deeply, her butler, Takizawa Hideo, equally grim.
"Miss Lola," the butler urged, "since this has escalated to a 'calamity' level event, we must awaken the elders."
The elders Takizawa Hideo referred to were the true pillars of the Takizawa family—ancestors who had undergone the original transformation into vampires.
Their first ancestor, who achieved this transformation, had been in deep slumber beneath the family’s ancient castle. The family constantly supplied vast quantities of blood to sustain the ancestor, whose resting chamber accumulated the blood into a pure liquid energy pool.
Listening to the butler, Takizawa Lola bit her thumbnail, hesitating. At that moment, the sky split open, revealing the enormous thunder-fire axe descending with unstoppable force.
"Damn it!"
As the colossal axe fell, Takizawa Lola and Takizawa Hideo's faces turned pale with terror. Behind them, Suzuki Yuichi was already white as a sheet, overwhelmed by the apocalyptic scene.
Suddenly, the massive thunder-fire axe cleaved through the castle, splitting it in two. One half collapsed entirely, marking the end of the once-magnificent structure.
At that moment, a giant red beam shot out from the castle ruins, and over a dozen figures emerged from its depths. These individuals, ghastly pale with monstrous features, exuded a chilling aura of blood.
“It’s the elders!”
Emerging from the rubble, Takizawa Lola clutched her injured shoulder and struggled to stand. She had used the butler as a shield during the axe's descent, saving herself at the cost of his life.
The Takizawa elders stood on the remaining half of the castle, glaring at Sakata Kintoki, who hovered in the sky with his golden axe.
An emaciated elder spoke gravely, “Mighty stranger, why attack the Takizawa clan? If we have wronged you, we are willing to make amends…”
Before he could finish, Sakata Kintoki pointed a finger, shooting a golden light that obliterated the elder’s head.
The elder’s body fell into the flames, leaving the remaining Takizawa elders in shock.
“Enough chatter.” Sakata Kintoki swung his axe. “I’m here to annihilate your clan. When I say annihilate, I mean annihilate. Spare me the nonsense.”
“Outrageous!”
The Takizawa elders roared, their bodies grotesquely transforming into monstrous, leech-like creatures.
"Trash."
Without hesitation, Sakata Kintoki swung his axe in a wide arc, decapitating seven elders and slicing the rest in half.
The Takizawa family's supposed pillars were nothing more than fodder to Sakata Kintoki, who hadn’t even bothered with a second swing.
Watching the carnage, Takizawa Lola collapsed, trembling and muttering in despair, “This isn’t a ‘calamity’ level event... this is... annihilation.”
The elders, her last hope, were now lifeless fragments.
"Still one left," muttered Sakata Kintoki.
Boom!
Sakata Kintoki landed heavily on the ground—his body seemed to carry immense weight, striking the earth like a thunderous hammer blow.
“Don’t come any closer!”
Takizawa Lola shrank back in terror, shaking her head and frantically kicking her legs to retreat. “Don’t come closer… don’t… don’t!”
Sakata Kintoki didn’t even bother swinging his axe. Slowly, he raised his hand, pointing a finger. A spark of thunderous fire began to coalesce at his fingertip.
“NO!” Takizawa Lola screamed desperately.
But suddenly, Sakata Kintoki shifted his aim, directing the lightning fire elsewhere. The blazing shot streaked over Lola’s head, striking something behind her.
Trembling, Lola turned her head with great difficulty. Behind her, a dazzling red glow flared as the lightning fire seemed caught in something resistant, crackling and sparking violently.
Finally, the red glow surged, dispersing the lightning fire. An overpowering stench of blood filled the air, spreading like a dense mist.
From within the bloody haze emerged a boy of sixteen or seventeen, eerily alluring in appearance. His pale face and bare torso bore glowing, rune-like markings that pulsated red.
“Ancestor!” Takizawa Lola cried in joy, crawling desperately toward the enchanting figure. “Ancestor! Ancestor!”
“I understand. Be quiet now,” the “boy” said calmly, gesturing for Lola to silence herself. Then, he turned to Sakata Kintoki, his gaze narrowing. “This power of thunder and fire... I’ve heard of it. A descendant of the Thunder God Red Dragon, why have you slaughtered the bloodline of my clan?”
“Oh, I figured there was a bigger boss hiding somewhere,” Sakata Kintoki said, resting the massive axe on his shoulder with a savage grin. “Well, then it’s you, huh? Hey, hurry up and die already. My time is precious—not to be wasted on trash like you!”
The enchanting youth remained composed. “I can sense the immense, terrifying power you wield. If you wished, you could obliterate me in an instant.”
“Ancestor…” Lola’s voice quivered in shock.
Ignoring her, the youth continued evenly, “But my master is a forbidden progeny among the vampire clans. Consider carefully whether you truly wish to exterminate the Takizawa lineage—the consequences may be beyond what you can bear.”
“Hah?” Sakata Kintoki scowled disdainfully. “Vampire clans? Those lousy bats? I killed plenty of them a century ago when they refused to pay their debts. Enough talk—die!”
With that, Sakata Kintoki punched the air.
The enchanting youth’s expression shifted dramatically, and without hesitation, he transformed into a streak of red light, shooting skyward.
But Sakata Kintoki swung his golden axe, unleashing a crescent-shaped thunderclap. The arc of light sliced through the heavens, cutting the fleeing red streak in half.
The Takizawa ancestor’s body split into two, plummeting from the sky.
Vampires shared a unique bond through bloodlines, and at that moment, Takizawa Lola felt an unbearable sorrow as the source of her bloodline vanished.
Their powerful ancestor, who had existed for centuries, was gone... gone!
Lola collapsed, sitting in a daze amidst the rubble, her mind blank as she stared at Sakata Kintoki’s approaching figure—and the massive golden axe he carried.
A beautiful severed head rolled to the ground, coming to a stop with its hair concealing the once-alluring face.
Sakata Kintoki, unfazed, kicked the head aside as though it were a soccer ball.
Surveying his surroundings with the unique perception of a Black Soul agent, he confirmed that every individual with the Takizawa family’s scent had been eliminated. Extermination wasn’t just an expression—it was fact.
Still, there were faint traces of life around, though Sakata Kintoki had no interest in them. Slinging his axe onto his shoulder, he turned to leave.
“Oh, right, that guy’s technically my little brother. Stupid, but still my brother,” Sakata Kintoki said abruptly, glancing back. “Understand?”
From the rubble, “Suzuki Chun Xin” slowly emerged from behind a crumbling wall, forcing a smile. “I was just borrowing this body temporarily. See? Suzuki Chun Xin’s consciousness is intact. I didn’t interfere.”
“Don’t think dabbling in soul tricks lets you act recklessly,” Sakata Kintoki sneered. “When it comes to souls, we are the true masters.”
With that, he leapt down the mountain.
Meanwhile, the entity residing within Suzuki Chun Xin, the Yamata no Orochi, sighed in relief. “Good thing I was too weak to devour the host completely. Suzuki Chun Xin’s consciousness was left intact…”
Suddenly, the serpent felt a newfound respect for the Main World—it was far more dangerous than expected.
---
“Mission complete, Steward,” Sakata Kintoki reported as he approached. The massive axe had vanished. Though he exuded ferocity, his demeanor softened before the club’s maid.
“Perfect timing. I’ve completed your request as well,” Yōu Yè said with a slight smile, standing gracefully.
Behind her hovered a child, dressed in pristine white robes. The child’s delicate face bore no trace of injury.
Sakata Kintoki whistled appreciatively.
The maid continued, “Since you didn’t specify, I made the body to my liking. It’s modeled after a low-tier angel. The original eyes were gone, so I replaced them with Medusa’s Eyes. The child lost too much blood, so I substituted with Fafnir’s blood. Additionally…”
By the time Yōu Yè mentioned “no specifications,” Sakata Kintoki’s expression had already darkened.
As the list of bizarre modifications grew, he felt as though mountains were pressing down on him.
“So… the cost?” he stammered.
“As you said, it’ll be deducted from your earnings.” Yōu Yè smiled sweetly. “After all deductions, congratulations—you have ten points left.”
“Too cruel…”
Sakata Kintoki collapsed to the ground, clutching the dirt in despair. Years of work as the club’s debt collector—gone in an instant!
