Chapter 900: Mr. Blind

Chapter 900: Mr. Blind

"We found you in the ruins."

"You were already unconscious, and the rescue team later sent you to the hospital."

"You're quite lucky, sir. You only injured your leg, and after some rest, you'll recover."

When Ouyang Jie woke up, the nurse told him many things. However, when he heard that the castle had collapsed and many guests were buried alive in the cellar, he became extremely agitated.

He couldn’t stay calm. His master, who was like half a father to him, and Uncle Jin... all were gone in a single night? Even... Zhong Luoyue.

He couldn't reach his master or Uncle Jin, but fortunately, he was able to get through to Zhong Luoyue.

"Ajie, listen to me. Wait for me to come to you. I’m in the hospital too," Zhong Luoyue had said.

...

The rescue team later arrived and sent many of the injured to the nearest hospital. Zhong Luoyue, who had successfully "blended" into the crowd, was naturally sent there as well.

Many things had happened. Before entering the large hospital ward where Ouyang Jie was, Zhong Luoyue thought about it. After she had "blended" into the crowd, Luo Qiu had quietly disappeared from both her and Elizabeth's sight.

However, she later heard that a young man had been sent to the hospital by helicopter and was currently in a high-class private room. Zhong Luoyue guessed that the young man might very well be Luo Qiu, who had also "blended" into the crowd.

She couldn’t go to that place because, from a distance, Zhong Luoyue could see many guards. She guessed they were people from the Song family.

Later, she received a call from Ouyang Jie, feeling somewhat relieved since she wasn’t sure if he had escaped safely from the collapse. Moreover, she didn’t know if Ouyang Jie knew everything about Uncle Jin.

Interestingly, Zhong Luoyue discovered that the people who had covered for her during her visit to the manor and ended up in the hospital after a car crash were also in the same hospital. She had already made contact with them.

Having some familiar people around gave Zhong Luoyue a sense of security.

"You all wait outside. I'll go in to see Mr. Ouyang myself." Zhong Luoyue gave instructions to the lightly injured bodyguards who had come to find her, then collected her thoughts and entered the large ward.

Many of the disaster's injured were there as well. In fact, the number of injured far exceeded those in the large ward, with many of them outside, receiving bandages and undergoing simple examinations.

Zhong Luoyue quickly spotted Ouyang Jie on one of the beds.

He looked haggard, sitting with his head lowered, but his fingers were constantly fidgeting with his phone, showing his anxiety.

"Thankfully, you're okay too," Zhong Luoyue slowly approached him.

He raised his head and saw Zhong Luoyue pulling the curtains around the bed, creating a relatively private space.

Zhong Luoyue pulled over a chair and sat down.

"Luoyue!" Ouyang Jie called out with concern.

Zhong Luoyue shook her head. "I’m fine. The doctor said I was just a little shaken."

"That's good..." Ouyang Jie nodded, then quickly asked, "What exactly happened? My master... are they really...?"

Zhong Luoyue shook her head again. "I don’t know exactly what happened. At the wine tasting in the cellar, I waited for you for some time, but you didn’t show up. I felt a bit tired and went upstairs. I wanted to go look for you, but that’s when the castle suddenly collapsed."

This was the same thing she told the investigators who came later. Zhong Luoyue had already decided not to reveal anything about what happened in the cellar.

This was the Song family’s territory. Let them and the local government deal with the mess. Once they started excavating, the bodies of the zombies beneath the castle would eventually be discovered.

"How could this happen..." Ouyang Jie painfully grasped his hair. "The castle shouldn’t have collapsed. It was renovated just a few years ago... How could it suddenly collapse?"

"We’ll have to wait for experts to investigate." Zhong Luoyue sighed, then asked abruptly, "By the way, where did you go at that time?"

Ouyang Jie replied instinctively, "I was waiting for my master in the study, but he didn’t show up. Later, Uncle Jin came to chat with me. I had a drink... and then I don’t know how, but I fell asleep."

"You're not a lightweight drinker... Was there something wrong with the drink?" Zhong Luoyue asked cautiously.

Ouyang Jie quickly responded, "Uncle Jin treats me like a son. He wouldn’t harm me, nor would he have any reason to drug me... I think it was probably due to the jet lag. I was really tired."

His expression was confused. Zhong Luoyue wondered if even he could convince himself with that explanation.

"No, I need to find my master and Uncle Jin... They’re the only family I have left." Ouyang Jie suddenly became agitated and tried to get out of bed.

But with his injured leg, the moment his foot touched the ground, he fell, pulling at his wound, causing him to cry out in pain.

A nurse outside the curtain heard the noise and rushed in, helping Zhong Luoyue to get Ouyang Jie back into bed.

"Sir, you can’t get out of bed yet. Please take care of your health," the nurse said in a scolding tone.

Zhong Luoyue sighed inwardly and glanced at Ouyang Jie's injured leg. The wound on his knee had split open, and blood was seeping through the bandages, staining them red.

As she stared at the fresh blood, Zhong Luoyue suddenly felt a strange sensation, a tingling in her heart, and a fleeting hunger. It was as if her hearing had dulled, and all she could hear was a buzzing sound in her head.

Zhong Luoyue suddenly shivered, feeling cold.

"No, I need to get up. I have to find my master and Uncle Jin!" Ouyang Jie insisted.

Zhong Luoyue took a deep breath. "Ajie, stay here and heal. I’ll follow up on your master and Uncle Jin’s situation. Maybe they’re just trapped underground, and it’s not the worst outcome... Don’t worry, I’ll inform you as soon as there’s news."

"Luoyue..."

At this moment, he could only trust her. As his emotions gradually calmed down, after offering a few more comforting words, Zhong Luoyue made an excuse to check on the bodyguards who had been injured in the car accident and left.

Ouyang Jie was filled with reluctance but had no reason to ask her to stay. He could only nod silently.

As she pulled the curtain back and stepped out, Zhong Luoyue glanced back at Ouyang Jie, noting his expression. She guessed that Ouyang Jie probably didn't know the truth behind the castle's collapse or something else that was very important to him.

She, along with Karen Yishel, had entered Jin Wucheng's memories, and when they left, the chaotic memories of Jin Wucheng rushed out like a slideshow.

Zhong Luoyue had uncovered a secret... that Ouyang Jie was very likely Jin Wucheng’s illegitimate son. She deduced this from a memory where Jin Wucheng would often hide in his room to look at a photograph of a woman. The appearance of this woman reminded her of Ouyang Jie.

And Jin Wucheng's extraordinary care for Ouyang Jie also hinted at this.

However, if Ouyang Jie really was Jin Wucheng’s illegitimate son, why did Jin Wucheng abandon him and allow him to enter the castle and become Tu Shenyi’s disciple? The reason for this remained unclear.

“Leave someone here to keep an eye on Mr. Ouyang and tend to any needs he may have,” Zhong Luoyue instructed the bodyguards outside the ward before leaving quickly.

She still planned to meet someone.

...

This was perhaps the best private room in the hospital, furnished luxuriously to the level of a five-star hotel.

Inside the room, Grandpa Song sat with his eyes closed, quietly sitting on the sofa, while Song Ying held onto his arm.

Gan Hong and Uncle Wu stood side by side nearby, not daring to speak. Outside the room, the elite guards of the Song family stood watch, including the three Song brothers, who had rushed over after quickly tending to their injuries.

The doctors had said that the patient had no visible injuries, and after an MRI, there were no hidden internal injuries either. The cause of the coma was still unknown, but the patient's body appeared to be in good condition.

Yet, he still hadn’t woken up, which greatly displeased Grandpa Song. In fact, several top brain specialists had already been "invited" from across the country and were on their way.

Uncle Wu’s phone suddenly rang. After listening, he leaned over and whispered to Grandpa Song, “Master, the eldest young master has arrived with Mr. Blind from the village. He says they’ll be at the hospital in half an hour.”

Song Haoran had been gathering men in the village to prepare for their return to China, and after receiving a message from the eldest Song brother, Grandpa Song immediately informed Song Haoran.

Considering the time, they should be arriving soon.

“Hmm... I see.” Grandpa Song finally opened his eyes, looked at Luo Qiu on the hospital bed, and suddenly asked, “Old Wu, did Luo Qiu’s eyes just move?”

The others glanced at each other but shook their heads. They feared it was just Grandpa Song’s hopeful imagination.

Grandpa Song sighed softly, stood up, and instructed, “Old Wu, Gan Hong, stay here and watch over him... Xiao Ying, come take a walk with Grandpa.”

Song Ying nodded and helped him stand.

As they walked out the door, the three Song brothers approached immediately. Grandpa Song waved them over and quietly said, “You all come with me as well. I want to hear everything in detail.”

The three brothers nodded.

The group headed to a pavilion in the small courtyard below the inpatient building. Song Er and Song San stood guard outside the pavilion while Song Da recounted the events of the day to Grandpa Song.

He began with the giant roulette at the wine-tasting event, continued with how he killed Lady Eve, and ended with the discovery of the treasure vault and the escape through the secret passage.

“Is this real?”

To Song Ying, everything Song Da described sounded like something out of a fantasy, leaving her in disbelief.

“Of course,” Song Da said seriously, then took out his phone. “This is a short video Lao San took during the roulette game. It captures the monster sucking the life out of someone.”

Song Da placed the phone on the table so that both Grandpa Song and Song Ying could see.

Even with Grandpa Song’s decades of experience, seeing a leech-like monster drain a person’s life in the video made him visibly react. Song Ying was even more terrified.

This clearly wasn’t a movie clip... it had truly happened!

“Oh my god...” Song Ying muttered, feeling a chill run down her spine at the thought that this horrific event had occurred while she was in the castle. She couldn’t help but hug herself tightly.

“Miss Ying, there are indeed many things in this world that we cannot explain,” Song Da said calmly. “For ordinary people, even our martial arts are unbelievable. But to us, the world is far larger than what meets the eye.”

“I just...” Song Ying tried to say something, but no words came out, so she simply shook her head.

“If these monsters are behind this, could it be that Luo Qiu’s coma was also caused by them?” Grandpa Song suddenly asked.

Song Da shook his head, saying he didn’t know, but in his heart, he understood clearly. Despite the shock of the supernatural events, Grandpa Song’s primary concern remained Luo Qiu.

The young man held a remarkable place in Grandpa Song’s heart... even Song Da, despite his burly appearance, was astutely aware of this.

“He should be fine, probably just from inhaling too much of the Jimsonweed flower’s scent.”

Suddenly, a deep voice rang out from beyond the pavilion, causing the three Song brothers to tense up. They immediately turned to see two figures approaching side by side through the night.

One was the carefree-looking Song Haoran, and the other was a young man in his mid-twenties. Despite his youthful appearance, his hair was completely gray, and his eyes were closed. There was a red dot in the center of his forehead.

Dressed in traditional Chinese garb and cloth shoes, he walked slowly, occasionally coughing as if he were ill.

Despite his closed eyes, he moved with the ease of someone who could see perfectly.

“Blind One!” Song Da stood up excitedly. “You’re finally here!”

“Mr. Blind.” Unlike Song Da’s enthusiasm, Grandpa Song greeted the man with great respect and even stood up to meet him. “You’ve arrived.”

The reason Grandpa Song treated him with such respect, aside from his extraordinary abilities, was also due to his age. Mr. Blind was over a hundred years old, deserving of deference.

“Greetings, Old Master Song.”

Mr. Blind slowly approached the pavilion and clasped his fists toward Grandpa Song, his demeanor instantly endearing.
