Chapter 882: Worry-Free, Three Lives (10)
Chapter 882: Worry-Free, Three Lives (10)
Humans are not perfect; they always have flaws, which makes them feel alive, tangible, and relatable. There’s a sense of "Oh, they can be like this too."
But if we were to apply a vampire template to Zhong Luoyue's situation, it would become interesting... Miss Zhong might not yet fully understand her transformation—after all, this is a gradual process, but she will slowly come to realize it.
However, Luo Qiu knows that the change in life forms cannot escape his ever-watchful eyes that observe the black-and-white world.
A quasi-vampire destined to never live under the sunlight yet feels uneasy about the night...
Luo Qiu does not know why he smiles at this moment; perhaps it’s because he finds the situation quite amusing. But Zhong Luoyue does not share this sentiment; she thinks it might be a form of mockery.
Does everyone have a vulnerable side they are unwilling to reveal, becoming furious when it’s exposed?
Zhong Luoyue would not affirm this, as there may be people who don’t care about exposing their weaknesses—though evidently, she is not one of them.
Of course, she would not get angry about it either, as she clearly understands when it is appropriate to make a fuss and when it is not—like the current situation, meaningless arguments would only waste precious time to escape.
“I’m much better, thank you.” She avoids arguments but feels a bit pleased; her face looks somewhat better, though still a bit cold.
Luo Qiu nodded, thought for a moment, and then took out a power bank and a charging cable to hand to Zhong Luoyue—she has no idea where he pulled this from, perhaps his belt?“You can keep this.” After giving her the items, Luo Qiu said, “I’ll go ahead.”
Like a traveler passing through a small tribe, he left behind some items and then departed.
Zhong Luoyue has a feeling he will walk far away—does this guy have no intention of teaming up with her?
When Luo Qiu turned and walked a few steps away, Zhong Luoyue realized this—he really has no intention of teaming up.
“Wait a minute.” She had to call out to him.
Since she can remember, there have been very few instances where Zhong Luoyue took the initiative to keep a man around, and those were mostly with a few male relatives—this is the first time with an outsider.
“Is there something else?” Luo Qiu turned around. “Oh... the power bank is fully charged, so don’t worry.”
“Not that!” Zhong Luoyue shook her head immediately... Why is this guy worried about such trivial matters? His vibe is so strange!
“Just follow me,” Luo Qiu said suddenly.
Zhong Luoyue felt her ears heat up—she indeed had this thought but was struggling with how to express it. She is used to negotiating, stating various interests, and reaching consensus with others, but she has never encountered a situation like this.
Someone spoke her thoughts aloud.
She could only nod slightly and then silently followed, simultaneously realizing something—this young man named Luo Qiu might be quite difficult to get along with.
She couldn't help but think of Song Ying; with that girl's personality, she probably has suffered quite a bit with Luo Qiu.
“How did you get separated from Song Ying?” Zhong Luoyue broke the silence, which was filled only with footsteps.
“They didn’t come down.” Luo Qiu replied casually, “They are still outside; it’s safe for now, so you don’t need to worry.”
Zhong Luoyue suddenly sneered, “That woman, Song Ying, had people block me at the airport. If I hadn’t made arrangements beforehand, I’d probably be lying in a hospital right now. Why should I worry about her?”
Luo Qiu said, “Would you rather lie in a hospital or be here?”
“Of course…” Zhong Luoyue was stunned; she suddenly felt that if she had only crashed and ended up in the hospital, it would be thousands of times better than being here.
Song Ying wouldn’t really want her life; that would only provoke the Zhong family’s crazed retaliation. She could only let herself suffer a bit... This is almost a rule among noble families—unless it comes to an impasse, no one would want to perish together.
But Zhong Luoyue wasn’t willing to let Luo Qiu lead the conversation so easily; she coldly said, “So, does that mean she knew what was happening here from the start? Should I be grateful to her?”
“Her? She’s actually quite confused,” Luo Qiu shook his head. “I didn’t mean for you to be grateful to her. If nothing had happened here, then naturally you wouldn’t have this situation, which seems bad but is actually good for you. You could say it’s the quirk of fate.”
“Describing fate as quirky?” Zhong Luoyue paused, somewhat incredulously. “You’re the first to... Wait, did you just say Song Ying isn’t here?”
She seemed to instinctively breathe a sigh of relief, then realized this thought felt a bit off, but upon reflection, she understood—if Song Ying wasn’t here but outside, perhaps when she sensed something was wrong, she could bring help from outside. That wouldn’t be a bad thing.
“She’s a bit unwell and fell asleep upstairs,” Luo Qiu said casually.
“……” Zhong Luoyue opened her mouth, surprised that in just a few minutes, this guy had made her emotions fluctuate several times.
I really want to be angry!
“Who are you looking for?” Zhong Luoyue steadied her mind, thinking that her meditation skills shouldn’t be so easily disrupted.
“A somewhat older kid,” Luo Qiu said softly. “I’m entrusted to take care of him... um.”
As he spoke, Luo Qiu suddenly shifted his gaze to the dark corridor ahead. Zhong Luoyue was startled by his action and quickly asked, “What did you find? Is it... zombies?”
Luo Qiu shook his head and made a shushing gesture.
Zhong Luoyue quietly took out the lipstick ceramic gun hidden in her pocket, focusing intently on the front—she saw a faint blue light suddenly appear in the darkness, flickering and slowly approaching.
“A butterfly?”
To Zhong Luoyue's surprise, what flew out from the darkness was a beautiful butterfly shimmering with blue light... Why would a butterfly appear in a place like this?
The butterfly quickly flew to Luo Qiu’s fingertips, folding its wings.
This was the radiant goddess butterfly that had followed Luo Qiu from the ground.
After the butterfly settled, it suddenly took flight again, circling around Luo Qiu—honestly, in this dim environment, a blue butterfly fluttering like this was truly beautiful.
But Luo Qiu said, “You want to lead me somewhere, don’t you?”
The butterfly suddenly flew a little further ahead, and Luo Qiu didn’t think much about it and simply followed.

---
In the manor, inside the castle.
Several men dressed in black were swiftly walking through the corridor; they were people from this ancient castle.
Of course, they were not servants, but individuals with a certain level of combat capability.
They quickly stopped in front of the door of a room in the corridor. One of the men reached out to twist the door lock, but it wouldn’t budge. Another man then took out a key and inserted it, but still could not turn it.
“Let me try,” said the third man, shaking his head. He pulled out a handgun and shot directly at the door lock without hesitation.
There was no doubt that the bullet would break the lock — or so they thought.
However, something incredible happened. When the bullet hit the lock, there was only a loud bang. Then the bullet veered off and struck the floor instead.
The men exchanged bewildered glances, astonished. The man who fired the shot couldn’t believe it and fired several more rounds at the lock, even shooting at the door itself.
Yet none of the bullets seemed to harm the door at all… they simply fell helplessly to the ground.
They looked at each other in shock.
They weren’t here out of boredom but had received orders. According to the surveillance installed within the castle, the young lady of the Song family should be in this room.
The surveillance had shown that she entered and did not come out again — only a young man had emerged.
Frowning, the men quickly opened the door to the adjacent room and climbed out onto the terrace, planning to enter from outside. However, when they reached the terrace of the hidden room, they saw several women lying on the sofa, seemingly in deep slumber, but they were unable to get in.
Even though the floor-to-ceiling glass door was wide open, there was an invisible barrier preventing their entry… They reached out and knocked in the air, discovering an imperceptible yet unusually hard barrier.
The man who had fired again disbelievingly shot at the door, and this time… the bullet froze in mid-air.
The men stared wide-eyed, and suddenly, the frozen bullet ricocheted back, grazing one man’s ear. He clutched his ear, now bleeding profusely.
They looked on in terror, then hurriedly picked up the phone, panic-stricken, saying, “Uncle Jin… there’s something wrong here…”
---
“An unbreakable door, and a ricocheted bullet?”
Listening to the phone call, Uncle Jin suddenly stood up… He was still in Tu Shenyi's laboratory, just not in the stark white room. Jin furrowed his brows and said, “I understand. The injured should go for treatment, and the rest should stay and keep watch. If there’s any movement in the room, report immediately.”
After hanging up, Uncle Jin lowered his head and paced back and forth, deep in thought.
They were just ordinary people, having never encountered supernatural forces… There was no doubt that the room likely harbored such powers.
Uncle Jin had witnessed how the young man who came with the Song lady had instantly annihilated the room full of zombies…
“What on earth is this extraordinary person’s background…” Uncle Jin sat down again, muttering to himself, “Could he also be a vampire like Lady Eve and the others? But why is he here? Could it be…”
Uncle Jin’s expression suddenly changed as he thought of a possibility — he knew a lot about the True Blood Project, especially that it had to be temporarily halted due to nearly being discovered by the vampires of the Thirteen Clans.
“Could it be that he was actually sent by the Thirteen Clans…”
Thinking of this greatest possibility, a cold sweat broke out on Uncle Jin’s forehead. He quickly glanced at the computer screen nearby, where Tu Shenyi had already begun contact with Cythacyl.
“There’s no time…” Uncle Jin gritted his teeth and resolutely took out several test tubes.
The liquids in these test tubes were what he had extracted from various 'Worry-Free' series.
Uncle Jin quickly walked to a device, inserting all the test tubes into it… One by one, the tubes rapidly drew the liquid and began to transfer it inside the device.
At the same time, Uncle Jin quickly set a series of complex parameters on the control panel.
“This is the only chance… it must succeed!” Uncle Jin's eyes were filled with a frenzied look… this was the gaze of a gambler making his last desperate bet.
---
Upon entering, it became clearer that Cythacyl held a long, blood-red whip in his hand, covered in dense spikes.
But it wasn’t an energy entity; it was a solid object emitting a red light, like a type of red vine.
Just as the steel door, which had almost been broken, suddenly swung open, Cythacyl did not stop; instead, he swiftly lashed out with the blood whip toward the inside of the door.
Inside stood Tu Shenyi.
Facing the blood whip swung by Cythacyl, Tu Shenyi didn’t flinch. Just as the whip was about to strike him, something repelled the attack, deflecting it away.
“Sorry, I couldn’t hold back in time.” Cythacyl said with a charming smile at Tu Shenyi.
Tu Shenyi stood with his hands behind his back and said nonchalantly, “Cythacyl, why are you here making trouble instead of tinkering with your new pet?”
“I just came to check on the progress of the True Blood production,” Cythacyl shrugged. “After all, I’m the largest investor in the True Blood Project. Is it not acceptable for me to inquire about the progress?”
Tu Shenyi gave him a slight glance, “The progress is fine; you don’t need to worry.”
Cythacyl smirked, “It seems a lot of little creatures have appeared in the cellar. Are they part of the entertainment?”
“Indeed, they are for entertainment.”
Cythacyl continued to sneer, “You’ve let out the army of zombies that my ancestors hid here; this entertainment is quite lavish. These creatures are so crazed they’ll even attack us. Don’t you know that?”
“Aren’t you doing just fine now?” Tu Shenyi said, casually adjusting his sleeves, then dismissed him, “If there’s nothing else, you can go back. I still have work to do.”
Cythacyl stepped directly through the steel door and entered, “Tu Shenyi, there’s something I don’t understand… Your power has grown significantly. Logically, the one who gave you your initial embrace, Karen, is from the same generation as I am… How did you manage it? Karen didn’t appear this time; she merely sent San Sheng with me…”
Cythacyl narrowed his eyes, “You didn’t eat Karen, did you?”
“Don’t you already know?” Tu Shenyi asked coldly.
Cythacyl was taken aback, frowning, “What an interesting question you’ve asked; why would I know? I should be quite furious right now!”
“Isn’t it you…” Tu Shenyi murmured, then said nonchalantly, “Well, since you’re here, I’ll just deal with you now.”
