Chapter 610 - 590: All In!
Everyone turned their heads to look, only to see Lawrence walking over.
Upon seeing Lawrence, those gamblers all showed a look of respect, because the young man before them was the owner of this cruise ship!
One of the three most outstanding sons of the Rothschild Clan!
Cole saw Lawrence approaching and instinctively stepped aside, as Lawrence's gambling skills surpassed his own, making him unnecessary here.
Ren Feng quickly sized up Lawrence; this young man was indeed handsome, with his elegant golden curls and a noble style suit. He stood there with poise, holding a glass of wine.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lawrence Rothschild, and this cruise ship is mine." Lawrence walked up to Ren Feng with a smile. "I also like gambling, especially with skilled gamblers. Would you like to try your luck?"
"I'd be delighted."
Ren Feng smiled, though he internally frowned. If he remembered correctly, there was Freemasonry backed by the Rothschild Clan last time; who would've thought that before even entering the United States, he'd encounter the young master of the family?
He wondered what Xiao Mu and the others were thinking.
Ren Feng's thoughts raced quickly, but he maintained a composed appearance, showing no flaws as he looked at Lawrence.
"Please follow me, and this lovely lady as well." Lawrence said gracefully to Long Yue.
Ren Feng extended his hand, and Long Yue quickly grasped his arm.
Lawrence led Ren Feng directly to the upper level, where the stakes at the gambling table were higher—reserved for the world's rich and powerful.
"This is a gambling scene, and you fill the vacancy perfectly." Lawrence smiled faintly, pushing open the door to reveal the room's gambling table.
Ren Feng glanced at it, seeing two people already seated at the table.
They, along with Lawrence, made four people at the table.
The other two in the room were staring at Ren Feng intently; they were the last two experts holding the fort in this casino!
"This one here is Harry, and this one is Stanley." Lawrence introduced with a gentle smile, "And this here is the gambling expert, Mr. Tang Long."
Ren Feng nodded slightly in acknowledgment, with Long Yue sitting calmly beside him.
"Mr. Tang Long, for this round, we need some stakes, don't you agree?" Lawrence smiled as he looked at Ren Feng.
"I think so too," Ren Feng replied with a smile.
"As for my stakes, I'll wager a favor from Lawrence. If you win, I owe you a favor, and for any reasonable request, I will oblige." Lawrence said with a smile.
Ren Feng raised an eyebrow: "A favor from you doesn't seem very useful to me."
This remark suddenly intensified the atmosphere in the room; both Harry and Stanley looked at Ren Feng with eyes seemingly filled with a hint of murderous intent!
"However, I'm willing to be friends with you." Ren Feng said with a smile.
Lawrence looked at Ren Feng and suddenly laughed.
"You're the first to want to be friends with me. Fine, if you win, being friends it is. But..." Lawrence still smiled, his gaze shifting to Long Yue beside Ren Feng, a dangerous aura seemed to linger on his face.
"If I win, this beautiful Eastern lady beside you becomes the stakes."
Long Yue's heart tightened, her grip on Ren Feng's arm strengthened slightly.
Ren Feng smiled at Lawrence: "Looks like I can't afford to lose."
"Indeed, you absolutely can't lose."
Lawrence laughed again, waving his hand for the dealer standing by to begin dealing the cards.
Harry was a middle-aged man, while Stanley was somewhat of an elder. Still, their gambling skills were beyond doubt; Ren Feng could see the telltale marks on their fingers that years of dealing cards had left.
The four were playing Texas Hold'em, a game that was one of the most popular in casinos because it tested luck, composure, analytical skills, and a person's daring. The rules were simple: first, two cards are dealt, one face-down, then bet based on the face-up card, allowing others to decide whether to fold or call. The cards are dealt until five are laid out, then everyone decides whether to bet further or fold.
With these five cards, the top hand is a straight flush, followed by four of a kind, then full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, and one pair.
Of course, in Texas Hold'em, having the larger hand doesn't necessarily guarantee victory. Your hole card is yours to know, and if your hand is weak, but your demeanor bluffs your opponents, you can still win; this is where the test of nerves and courage comes in.
The dealer dealt the first card face down to each of the four players, none of whom looked at them.
Ren Feng smiled at the other three and suddenly noticed minute fluctuations in Harry's eyes, like True Qi, with glimmers of light within.
Frowning internally, he quietly moved to cover the cards with True Qi, creating an illusion where his hole card appeared to change from the Ace of Spades to the Three of Spades.
Ren Feng scanned the other three players, discovering Harry and Stanley both held an Ace, and Lawrence had a ten.
"I've always thought that Texas Hold'em, when settled by one decisive round, is the most exciting. I'm all in."
Ren Feng smiled lightly and, upon receiving his second face-up card, went all in.
Harry and Stanley both frowned. Betting like this? With three cards yet to be dealt, he was all in.
Lawrence was momentarily stunned, a slight smile tugged at his lips—interesting, truly interesting.
"Call."
After speaking, Lawrence also went all in, and as far as he was concerned, what did he have to lose? Harry and Stanley, too, called immediately.
Knowing Ren Feng's hole card, why should they worry?
The room held a repressive and heavy atmosphere, Long Yue held her breath, focusing intently on the table.
Continuing to deal, Ren Feng received a ten and a jack, Lawrence a king and queen, Harry a jack and queen, Stanley a ten and king.
Afterward, another hole card was dealt, completing five total.
The crucial moment arrived; Ren Feng had on the table a ten, jack, king—all spades. If the next two cards were queen and king, Ren Feng would have an excellent chance of winning.
However, suit-wise, Ren Feng's hand wasn't a true straight flush; aside from the ace being a spade, neither the jack nor ten was, because in Texas Hold'em, spades outrank hearts, which trump clubs, which beat diamonds. If hands are tied, the spades are top.
Lawrence's visible cards were a queen, king, ace, with his hole card unknown, similarly with Harry and Stanley's close positions.
Harry and the others stared at Ren Feng, who wore a confident smile unwaveringly. At this juncture, the gamble seemed entirely a matter of luck.
