Chapter 566 - 546: From This Moment On, There Is No Codename Eleven
On this day, Ren Feng stayed with Eleven the whole time.
In the afternoon, they went shopping, watched a movie, and did things that couples do. Then in the evening, instead of going to the hotel, Ren Feng rented a place for the night, and the two of them stayed up late, only slowly falling asleep.
It was around midnight when Eleven, who was sleeping in Ren Feng's arms, opened her eyes.
She looked at Ren Feng with his eyes closed, got out of bed, took out the poison she carried, and stood by the table where there was a thermos. But when she was about to put it down, she hesitated again.
She knew the power of this poison; once administered, even a master of the Divine Realm would have no power to resist. If Ren Feng drank it, there would be no other path but death.
She also believed in what Ren Feng said, that even if she wanted to kill him, he wouldn't fight back.
Eleven hesitated, her mind again filled with memories of her past with Ren Feng, finally settling on their time together on the bed today.
"Why did you become an assassin?"
"I want to find out about my origins."
Eleven recalled the conversations during their escapes with Ren Feng and sighed slightly, before casually tossing the pill out the window.
The next morning, when Eleven woke up, Ren Feng was already gone.
The autumn sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the beige curtains, casting golden shadows on Eleven's smooth, rosy face.
The sunlight on the corner of her eye felt slightly scorching, and as she reached to touch it, she suddenly awakened.
Almost instinctively, she abruptly turned to get out of bed, but sudden pain in her lower body halted her action momentarily.
Eleven didn't furrow her brow but did pause in her actions before reaching for her gun.
Halfway through the motion, Eleven realized the state she was in.
She looked around the bed, and Ren Feng was nowhere to be seen.
It seemed like Eleven sighed slightly internally, as she glanced to the side, discovering her clothes neatly hung, including her underwear.
She began dressing efficiently, swiftly covering the pleasing curves of her body and slipping her long, smooth legs into jeans.
Her expression remained calm, seemingly not disappointed in Ren Feng's silent departure, though a slight ripple stirred within her.
She opened the door and stepped out, suddenly hearing a sound from the kitchen. Approaching, she found Ren Feng busy there, wearing an apron, with steam rising around him.
"You're up? Towels and hot water are ready; there's a little porridge on the table for you. It's good for the stomach. Just wait a moment, and I'll have breakfast ready."
Ren Feng said cheerfully.
Eleven felt warmth in her heart, and at that moment, she let go of the thought that had weighed heavily on her mind.
She drank the porridge and then walked into the kitchen, hugging Ren Feng from behind.
"What's up?"
Ren Feng asked with a smile, looking back.
"Nothing, just let me hold you."
Eleven held Ren Feng, like a scene from a warm, daily life.
"Okay, okay, it's almost done. I made you some noodles. I guess you haven't had noodles while abroad – try something different."
Ren Feng said with a grin.
He carried the dishes to the table, and both Ren Feng and Eleven picked up chopsticks, sitting down to start eating.
"In the coming days, I'll take you around. There are many other delicious foods in Huaxia Country that I guarantee you'll try and not want to remain an assassin." Ren Feng laughed.
"I already don't want to be an assassin," Eleven looked at Ren Feng.
Ren Feng was a bit taken aback, then smiled slightly, reaching out to hold Eleven's hand.
"Then don't be. I'll handle the rest for you."
...
Time passed quickly. These days, besides protecting Xia Wenxue, Ren Feng spent most of his time with Eleven.
He knew what Eleven's childhood was like. As an assassin trained from a young age, she was one of a thousand trained to kill her own companions, with only ten surviving in the end.
That was just the beginning. Then she was personally trained by her master, facing all sorts of harsh trials and tasks. Winning meant survival, losing meant death.
Ren Feng wanted Eleven to feel more warmth, to thaw her heart.
Three days swiftly passed. Eleven returned to her room alone, her face calm. It wasn't long before a video request appeared on her laptop.
Tang Dieyi's face appeared on the screen.
"Is the task completed?"
Tang Dieyi asked flatly.
"No, the mission failed." Eleven's face remained calm.
"Failed?" Tang Dieyi let out a cold laugh, "Eleven, my dear Eleven, how could the mission have failed? You should know, your strength is not inferior to his, and most importantly, if you administered the poison, he would be at your mercy! Tell me, how did the mission fail?"
"I gave him the poison, but he didn't drink the water. I fought with him and found I was not his match."
Eleven's face remained calm, "His strength is formidable now."
"With your previous relationship, he shouldn't have caught onto your poisoning as long as you were careful." Tang Dieyi said coldly.
"I don't know how he found out either."
"Very well, since this mission failed, prepare to return in a few days."
After saying that, the video disappeared, and Eleven also breathed a sigh of relief.
On the other side, sitting in her chair, Tang Dieyi had a cold killing intent on her face, her eyes filled with anger.
Eleven, you dare betray me!
She pressed a button, "Bring Number Fourteen here."
Before long, a woman entered from outside the door, extremely glamorous in appearance, dressed provocatively like a rose.
Her code name was Fourteen, one of the assassins who survived alongside Eleven, having fought alongside her, nicknamed Poison Rose.
If you were drawn to her seductive appearance, you were already marked for death by her.
"President."
Poison Rose stood before the table.
"Calling you here is to assign a task."
Tang Dieyi tossed a paper bag to her.
Poison Rose caught the bag, opened it, and found it was a list of tasks.
"Your task is to eliminate the man on this list." Tang Dieyi said.
"Understood."
"In addition, there's Eleven." Tang Dieyi's expression was icy, "She betrayed me."
"What should I do about her?"
"Kill her. From now on, there is no Code Eleven!"
Tang Dieyi's expression was extremely cold.
Poison Rose's lips curled slightly, "I'll follow your orders."
Dear junior sister, I never expected you would've become my target one day. How interesting, though I shall show no mercy!
