Chapter 887 - 887: I Can't Go Back to See You Anymore
Chapter 887 - 887: I Can't Go Back to See You Anymore
No, if Nancy Carter had found Eleanor Spencer, she wouldn't have sent someone to kill her; she would have sent someone to rescue Eleanor first.Judging by Jovana Shaw's reaction, it also wasn't Clara Philips who sent them. This group has a grudge against Mason Nightshade and they have guns... Aurelia Shaw has a rough idea of who they might be.
If they were sent by Clara Philips, they'd be easier to deal with, but if they're terrorists or something like that... she fears the situation could turn deadly.
She could only try to stall for time, hoping someone would come to find her.
"Cut the crap!" The man jabbed her head with the gun muzzle.
Aurelia Shaw could see that this person didn't want to kill her immediately, probably wanting to torment her first before killing her.
Her red lips curled into a light smile, bold and defiant, "Can't even give your name, I guess you're just a sneaky rat. Never mind, even if you did say, I wouldn't want to hear it. Someone as cowardly as you might dirty my ears."
"Sharp-tongued, just like how Scabface was taken down by you, isn't it?"
Scabface?
"Don't waste words on her; let's prevent her from playing tricks. Just kill her and send her head to Mason Nightshade, as a warning for the brothers of ours he's wiped out!"
The man squinted his eyes, "Wouldn't it be better to keep her to threaten Mason Nightshade?"
"Do you really think Mason Nightshade is someone you and I can threaten? This woman has some skills; keeping her might bring us trouble. Kill her directly and use her blood to honor our fallen brothers as a warning to Mason."
The man was convinced.
A wave of coldness swept through Aurelia Shaw's heart, and she slowly closed her eyes. Mason Nightshade, I fear I won't be able to see you again.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out, but it came from beside her.
Aurelia Shaw felt something splash against her face. She opened her eyes and saw Mason Nightshade approaching, holding a gun. With each shot, someone on this side fell.
She quickly reacted and darted behind a rock.
After several more gunshots, chaotic footsteps retreated.
She heard steady footsteps moving swiftly towards her.
Mason Nightshade stopped in front of her, effortlessly picked her up, and placed her on the rock, checking her body. His expression was cold, eyes filled with an intense chill and killing intent.
"Mason, I'm okay," Aurelia Shaw reassured him.
Seeing the wounds on her arms and legs, the coldness in Mason's eyes intensified.
"Brother Mason, one got away." Sixzi ran up, out of breath, and upon seeing Aurelia, flashed a big toothy grin and called her "sister-in-law."
Realizing it wasn't the time to joke around, he quickly composed himself.
Aurelia Shaw found this kid quite amusing.
"They seem to be the same gang as those who kidnapped me last time, probably here to avenge them." Aurelia didn't mention their real target was Mason; judging by the look of murderous intent and concern in his eyes, she thought if she told him, he'd surely blame himself.
"Activate nearby forces, capture them alive, and find out who's behind them!"
Sixzi could tell brother Mason was serious this time, "Yes!"
Mason Nightshade crouched in front of Aurelia Shaw and patted his back, signaling her to climb on. "Get on."
"I'm fine, I can walk..." Aurelia started to say, but Mason insisted, "Get on!"
Aurelia Shaw, resigned, slowly climbed onto Mason Nightshade's back.
She noticed Jovana Shaw collapsed on the ground, who then wobbly woke up. It was unclear if she had been pretending to be unconscious or genuinely was, as she looked around confused, seemingly not understanding the current situation.
