Chapter 555 - 555 Aurelia Shaw Kidnapped Her
"How can you say it's nothing serious? My daughter still hasn't woken up. Does this look like everything's fine to you? Do you even know how to diagnose? The headache you treated me for a few days ago still hasn't improved."Ma'am, that headache is a heartache from missing your daughter. No amount of medicine will help.
But the doctor didn't say this out loud. With a quick thought, he understood what Clara Philips meant.
Pressing a cough to his lips, he said, "While her body isn't in any grave danger, there might be some psychological harm. It seems the young lady was pretty frightened this time. It's best not to let her be stimulated by anything once she wakes up. It would be wise to go along with her in every way possible."
"Daddy..." A weak voice came from behind the doctor.
Clara Philips quickly walked to the bedside, holding Jovana Shaw's hand. How had her daughter ended up like this? It hurt her heart too much. She must never find out who had done this; she'd tear that person to pieces.
"Little Rue, Mommy's here. Don't be afraid. Mommy's here; no one will bully you."
Upon hearing Clara Philips say this, and recalling the blurry moments of waking up and hearing the doctor, Jovana Shaw immediately understood what Clara meant.
Her face showed fear as she screamed and struggled, "Ah! Don't come near, woo woo woo... I was wrong. Don't hit Little Rue, please don't hit Little Rue. Little Rue knows she's wrong, please don't..."
"Little Rue, don't be afraid. I'm your mom. Mommy's here." Clara Philips comforted Jovana Shaw.
"Mom?" As soon as she heard the word, Jovana calmed down and searched with her eyes, "Where's Daddy?"
Clara Philips turned to look at Balthazar Shaw.
Balthazar Shaw's heart wasn't made of stone. Hearing his daughter call for him in such a state made his heart soften immediately.
He walked over with long strides but didn't lean over the bed like Clara. Instead, he stood there, stooping slightly, unable to hide the worry on his face.
"Daddy..." Jovana Shaw burst into tears, suddenly getting up and throwing herself into Balthazar's arms, "Woo woo woo, Daddy, Little Rue is so scared. I was locked in a dark room where I couldn't see anything. I called for Daddy, but Daddy couldn't hear."
"I was wrong, Dad. Please don't let Sister punish me again. I really know I'm wrong. I'll listen to Sister from now on."
Balthazar Shaw froze.
"What did you say?!"
Jovana Shaw seemed scared, not hearing what Balthazar said, repeatedly murmuring, "Sister, I'm sorry. Don't hit Little Rue, Sister, I'm sorry, don't..."
"Little Rue, what do you mean by that? Was it Aurelia who locked you up?" Clara Philips asked.
Though she had already guessed.
"There must be some misunderstanding." Balthazar Shaw said in a deep voice, his face growing dark.
"What kind of misunderstanding could there possibly be? Are you suggesting Little Rue has falsely accused her?" Clara Philips shouted sharply.
Balthazar Shaw grabbed Jovana Shaw's arm, his face dark as he questioned, "Little Rue, make it clear, what exactly is going on? It's impossible for Aurelia to have kidnapped you. Where have you been these days? What's really going on?!"
"Ah!" Jovana clutched her head, "Sister, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Little Rue was wrong, don't hit me, I was wrong, I'm so sorry."
Jovana knelt on the bed, kowtowing forcefully. If she were on the floor, her head might have made a hole.
Balthazar noticed a red swelling on her forehead.
