Wesley Lloyd steadied himself, opened his mouth to push further, but caught a glimpse of Aurelia's cold smile at the corner of her mouth.His heart skipped a beat.
The words suddenly stuck in his throat, almost impossible to say.
However, Wesley soon regained his composure and pressed determinedly, "As the lead of Stardust, how do you understand the situation where someone like Eliza Fletcher, with such a blemished record, still remains in the crew?"
"Sorry, this is not the promotion time for Stardust. If any interviews are needed, please conduct them after the event with Aurelia Shaw personally. Other than that, we refuse to answer," Amanda Fuller appeared, faced the reporters with a calm attitude, and spoke with an irrefutable tone.
She often dealt with reporters, having experienced more significant occasions than this; the phrase "stage fright" simply doesn't exist on her.
"Oh, I wondered who had such an aura; turns out it's Aurelia." A sarcastic female voice sounded. Alice Bell, in a strapless gown, approached, maintaining an appropriate smile to Aurelia, yet her words weren't as friendly.
"Aurelia, it's been a long time."
Aurelia's eyes narrowed slightly, Alice Bell, an artist under Entertainment Transmit Company, formerly one of the two major extras, the other being Alice.
She joined the company several years earlier than Aurelia, to be sure a senior, yet still in a tepid state, having played various extras, sometimes landing one or two supporting roles.
Aurelia's lips curled into a smile as she nodded, "Mm."
Alice's eyes briefly revealed a hint of jealousy, she and Aurelia were both extras, in the company, Aurelia was even less favored, seemed to have no future, so why could she marry Mason Nightshade, why could she star in Dawnsong, and gain fame through the role of Anne Hart?
This was unfair!
She loathed Aurelia, and even more so her current arrogant demeanor, looking down on her, just like when both were extras in the company — she disgusted Alice with her aloofness.
"Is everyone interviewing? Actually, I'm quite curious too, Aurelia, why would your crew employ someone like Eliza Fletcher with such a blemished record? It really undermines the standard, such artists should be blacklisted." Alice remarked, even showing a look of regret.
Aurelia scoffed internally.
If she was genuinely concerned, she could have spoken privately, instead of bringing it up so openly in front of so many reporters.
This tactic was too childish, but Aurelia had no need for pretensions with Alice, whether in open or hidden strife, even if the other saw through her intentions, it wouldn't be awkward.
"You're quite proactive about such matters," Aurelia replied casually.
Alice raised her chin, "Our entertainment circle is misunderstood by the outside world, all due to the existence of such rabble. Although my reputation isn't large, as a member, I will uphold the values and beliefs that must be persisted in; I absolutely won't allow such things to happen."
Alice spoke righteously, with sharp eyes.
She felt it exhilarating to step on Aurelia; this woman never regarded her, upon discovering she was actually Mason Nightshade's wife, heaven knows how jealous she was, desiring to ruin her — now she finally had the chance.
Though she couldn't completely ruin her, she could tarnish her reputation.
Aurelia's eyes narrowed; the reporters had recorded their conversation, yet Aurelia didn't shy away, merely asked lightly with a chill, "And how can you be certain that the artist you are talking about, whose behavior you claim deserves blacklisting, has truly committed those acts and isn't being falsely accused?"
