Chapter 25: Teaching Bottlenecks
Chapter 25: Teaching Bottlenecks
A light-colored lace-trimmed long dress, long curly hair. The slightly heavy white powder on her face reminded Yamazaki Kazukazu of someone.
"Nay, nay..."
Because the two sisters were similar in height and build, and because Himeno Saki always kept her head down, Yamazaki Kazuka immediately mistook the person in front of him for Himeno Natsuki.
This fleeting hallucination froze Yamazaki Kaze in place.
"Mr. Yamazaki...stop looking, let's start class."
Seeing that Yamazaki Kazuka remained silent and stared blankly at her, Himeno Saki felt an unbearable embarrassment.
Himeno Saki's voice woke Yamazaki Kazukaze.
Yamazaki Kazukaze, who was too scared to speak at first, then realized that the girl in front of him was Himeno Saki.
"Hahaha. Saki, don't you look beautiful without clothes on? Why are you hiding?"
Perhaps because he was so frightened that he forgot to breathe, Yamazaki and Kazekatsu needed to release their emotions by laughing.
[Phew, that scared me to death. I thought Natsuki had suddenly come back for summer vacation.]
"Is it beautiful?"
Himeno Saki looked up and asked.
"very beautiful."
Yamazaki Kazukaze wasn't sure if it was appropriate to compliment her so directly, since he had never complimented Himeno Natsuki on how beautiful she looked today.
She almost never asks that question, because Himeno Natsuki is a conceited person. In her eyes, there is nothing wrong with her clothes and appearance, and she doesn't need her boyfriend's verbal praise.
All you need to do is look at them with admiration when you meet.
Do you think this outfit suits me?
Himeno Saki asked timidly.
"Um, this style doesn't seem to match your personality."
Although it's unclear why Himeno Saki is wearing clothes that her older sister would wear, Yamazaki Kazuka thinks Himeno Saki looks pretty now, but it doesn't suit her.
Which one do you think looks best these days?
"The outfits from the past few days have all been a bit lacking; the one you wore on the day of the competition really suited you best."
"Haha, Mr. Yamazaki has good taste."
Himeno Saki was very happy to hear this, as she had personally arranged the team's uniforms and outfits.
"Alright, let's not talk about that anymore. Saki-kun, we have an exam today, so please prepare well and try your best to do well."
"Yes. Professor Yamazaki, please look forward to my results."
Himeno Saki raised her hand, looking very confident.
"Then you get a share too, Aoi-kun."
"Huh, do I have one too?"
Uesugi Aoi never expected that she would have anything to do with this.
"To improve your grades, I've created a test specifically designed to address your weaknesses."
"I see."
Uesugi Aoi responded somewhat irritably.
Because of the exam, Yamazaki Kazukazu had a relaxed morning, but Himeno Saki's constantly sweating face seemed to be a constant warning to him.
Her academic performance was not good.
In the afternoon, Yamazaki Kazuka began grading the exam papers, and the final result finally put an end to his anxiety.
Sure enough, Himeno Saki's reaction changed when faced with more difficult questions.
But these are the questions that Yucheng Middle School usually tests.
Yamazaki Kazuka was completely bewildered by the situation before him.
I explained many of the same types of questions to her yesterday, but she still got them wrong today.
On the other hand, the situation is much better for Uesugi Aoi.
Although she had some reservations, she listened to most of what he said.
"I'll explain the problem to Saki-chan today. Aoi-chan, let's continue tomorrow, okay?"
"no problem."
Uesugi Aoi glanced at the test paper and saw a lot of red crosses on it.
"Saki-kun, come sit next to me, I'll explain the questions you got wrong."
Yamazaki Kazuka asked Himeno Saki to sit next to him, firstly to prevent her from being exposed, and secondly so that he could observe her expression and confirm whether she was daydreaming or spacing out while he was explaining the topic.
Generally speaking, it's normal to explain a difficult problem three or four times, but Himeno Saki clearly needs to be explained six or seven times or even more before she can understand it.
If she's willing to patiently learn from me, her grades will definitely improve, but we don't have much time left. I need to show my wife the results this weekend.
Just thinking about this gave Yamazaki Kazuka a headache.
So much so that by the time get out of class ended, the questions on the test hadn't been finished, and Himeno Saki Ryo's expression was clearly very tired.
There is no doubt that his tutoring of Himeno Saki has hit a bottleneck.
Although she is now willing to learn from me, her own talent and limited study time make it almost impossible for her to pass the make-up exam after the summer.
That's all for today.
Yamazaki Kazuka smiled.
"But the teacher hasn't finished explaining so much."
Himeno Saki was clearly not in high spirits. Because she kept her head down the whole time, Yamazaki Kazuka could only see her dejected back.
"We'll talk about it tomorrow."
"Can I do it?"
Himeno Saki felt a little short of breath. Her mind was a mess. She could understand what Yamazaki Kazukazu was telling her, but she was completely at a loss when it came to doing it.
"There's still time, Saki-kun, don't worry, everything is still in the planning stage."
"Really?"
Himeno Saki has clearly lost confidence.
"Don't be afraid, Saki-kun. Don't let temporary difficulties defeat you. Students like you will encounter these kinds of problems from the beginning. It will be fine in a few days."
Yamazaki Kazuka smiled and comforted Himeno Saki.
"But his words of comfort seemed so ridiculous to Uesugi Aoi standing to the side."
I think you're just reluctant to part with the Himeno family's wages!
Himeno Saki thought darkly to herself.
If Himeno Saki fails the exam a week later, Yamazaki Kazukaze will have to leave, and Himeno Saki will inevitably revert to being the truant problem girl she once was.
Uesugi Aoi, suddenly realizing how things had unfolded, felt somewhat ridiculous.
Why take such a big risk and do something like this when you could just wait for Himeno Saki to fail the exam?
"Is Mrs. Himeno not home?"
Yamazaki Kazuka noticed that Himeno Seiyuki was not present at dinner.
"Mrs. Himeno has already taken a plane to Osaka."
"Going to Osaka so late."
"The event starts tomorrow morning. My wife has to get there tonight; it's a regular occurrence for her."
"So, is it usually just you and Saki-kun at home?"
"Yes."
Yamazaki Kazuka glanced at Himeno Saki, who was eating silently with her head down. The studying she had just finished had left her extremely exhausted.
If she doesn't study at such a high intensity, her grades will definitely fall behind. However, the high intensity of studying will also reduce Himeno Saki's learning efficiency, resulting in her grades still not improving.
It was only then that Yamazaki Kazuka realized how naive he had been.
"Saki, it's okay. Think about it carefully. How did you learn your English and Chinese?"
"That kind of thing is very simple."
Himeno Saki also didn't understand why she found it so easy to study humanities subjects, but struggled to make any progress when faced with science subjects.
