Chapter 92
“What a terrifying cold pool!”
“True qi can’t withstand it?”
“That guy’s really unlucky.”
“Good thing I didn’t move!”
The prodigies standing nearby muttered among themselves, their eyes full of lingering fear.
They had been lucky not to act rashly; otherwise, they might have ended up like the Condensed True Realm prodigy before them…frozen into an ice statue by the pool. The thought made them shiver.
While they hesitated, several figures suddenly arrived.
Rumble!
The newcomers ranked fairly high on the Talent List…though not in the top ten, they sat around the thirtieth position. Their arrival made the other group’s faces change. It looked like the Cold‑Jade Snow Lotus would be out of reach.
They understood the gap in strength and stepped aside. As they approached, their eyes gleamed, all fixated on the lotus floating in the cold pool.
“A Cold‑Jade Snow Lotus!”
“Lucky break!”
“But this cold pool seems strange.”
Their excitement did not blind them. They quickly noticed something odd: the pool’s chill far exceeded normal levels. The valley’s surrounding temperature remained ordinary, yet the air around the pool plunged so low that even Condensed True Realm cultivators could not maintain their true qi. The realization made them frown.
Just as they prepared to force their true qi and rush the pool, a terrifying aura exploded from nearby.
Rumble!!!
A pitch‑black silhouette descended from the sky, and the ground trembled beneath his landing. Everyone looked up; their faces changed drastically.
The newcomer stood bare‑chested, blood and qi surging through his body…none other than the Fist Demon, ranked fifth on the Talent List.
“Get lost! This thing’s mine!”
The Fist Demon strode forward, arrogantly shoving aside the thirtieth‑ranked prodigies and shouting with domineering force.
“What!?”
They could not tolerate it. “Fist Demon, what do you mean!?”
“You don’t absorb spiritual energy and you don’t need to break through Holding Origin…why are you competing with us for the Cold‑Jade Snow Lotus!?”
“Isn’t this going too far!?”
Anger flashed across their faces as they ground their teeth at him.
“Too far?” the Fist Demon sneered, disdain in his eyes.
“This thing may be useless to me, but I can sell it to someone who needs it. Problem?”
“You want to fight me for it? Fine…beat me, and the lotus is yours!”
He crossed his arms and spoke calmly.
“You…”
“This is outrageous!”
“Fist Demon, are you trying to ruin everything!?”
The dozen or so higher‑ranked prodigies could not hold back their fury and rose to confront him. The Fist Demon only laughed coldly.
“Can’t understand me? Either beat me or get lost!”
At his words, a terrifying surge of blood‑essence erupted from his body. The pressure he radiated made the others’ faces fall.
“Damn it!”
“Brothers, the Fist Demon’s gone too far!”
“Right! Let’s all go at him together…teach him a lesson!”
Although none of them alone could match the Fist Demon, they reasoned that if they attacked together, even his overwhelming strength might not guarantee victory. The dozen or so high‑ranked prodigies spread out and prepared to strike as one, their eyes full of resentment. The Fist Demon’s arrogance had insulted them; they were prodigies too, and many among them ranked in the top twenty. They wore dark expressions and intended to clash with him.
The Fist Demon showed contempt. “Come on.”
“Teach him a lesson!”
The prodigies attacked in unison. Techniques erupted in the air…sword strikes, spear thrusts, and direct true‑essence suppression aimed at the Fist Demon. The onslaught shook the surroundings and stunned the weaker prodigies who watched.
The combined methods proved spectacular, but the Fist Demon only sneered. His blood‑essence exploded like a tidal sea, and he concentrated all his power into his right fist before smashing it into the air.
Boom!
The very air seemed to cry out. The force in that punch nearly warped the space itself. Every incoming attack shattered in that instant…sword qi dispersed, blade qi scattered, and even mundane weapons in some hands crumbled to dust under the impact.
The terrifying fist force continued unabated, blasting toward the assembled prodigies.
Sput!
Spit!In a single moment, every prodigy paled and staggered back, blood spattering from their mouths. Some weaker ones were caught in the aftershock and died on the spot.
Rumble! Rumble!
Several prodigies collapsed, faces drained of color. Only a few stronger ones remained standing, but they too looked pale and spat blood, staring at the Fist Demon in horror.
Too terrifying.
This Fist Demon…without any cultivation to speak of…relied solely on his physical body to unleash such devastating attacks. Even if ten more opponents joined, the outcome would likely remain unchanged.
“A bunch of trash…united, they’re still trash.”
The Fist Demon sneered as he casually sent them flying and made them cough blood. His contempt deepened. He glanced over the crowd and asked coldly, “Do you still want to fight me?”
At his words, the prodigies exchanged fearful looks. None dared continue the contest. That would be suicide. Against the Fist Demon’s power, even a combined assault would only lead to needless deaths. For him, dealing with them took a single punch and consumed little energy.
They bit their lips, forced down their anger, and reluctantly yielded.
“Fine, you’re ruthless!”
In the end, they could only spit out that line, retreating with fear and giving the Fist Demon room.
Inside the luxurious palace, the princes watched the scene and could not help but comment.
“The Fist Demon’s strength really is terrifying!”
“He has no cultivation, yet he can unleash earth‑shattering force… it’s absurd!”
“His background is strange too…he lived in the beast mountains until adulthood, drank beast blood and ate beast meat, then the Overbearing Body Sect’s leader discovered him and took him as a disciple. In just a few years he grew to this level!”
“I wonder if Gu Yang’s physical power can match the Fist Demon.”
“Heh, I doubt it.”
“And they might never even meet.”
“True.”
