Chapter 486 391: Twin Dragon Cards (Part 2)
[The King is Awake!]
[The King is Up!]
[Bori Li Bo!]
[Ye Ye Ye~]
After flipping through seven or eight cards in a row, Li Pu was quite surprised by the results.
The most surprising thing was that all these cards were of monster species he had never seen before.
One or two could be excused as his lack of knowledge.
But so many in a row, not only had he never seen them, he had never even heard of them. It was very rare.
However, what Li Pu didn't know was that he simply didn't have the right tools on hand.
Otherwise, just test any of these cards, and they would all turn out to be limited-edition cards.
Actually, whether they were limited edition wasn't particularly significant to him.
What mattered was that the quality of these cards was quite high.
If they weren't immediately usable in a game, they either had a good mechanism or great potential, which could be fused into a playable card.
He was even confident that if the subsequent cards were all of this quality and grade,
he could fuse them slowly and perhaps create an S-grade card.
"I never expected Grandpa to have hidden such treasures in a box."
Thinking of this, he again thanked his grandfather.
But perhaps he wouldn't even need to fuse the cards to get an S-grade card, because as Li Pu flipped the next card, a sudden burst of light appeared.
Buzz!
An intense crimson light beam shot skyward, with a massive shadow slowly appearing within it.
"This, this is...!"
Seeing this spectacle, even Li Pu couldn't help but exclaim.
Because he knew it must be an S-grade card!
Wishing Grandpa longevity and prosperity!
In the end, a Western Red Dragon projection, far more imposing than the previous Golden Wind Dragon, appeared.
Compared to the not-yet-fully-mature Golden Wind Dragon, this red dragon was clearly in its prime just from its appearance.
With robust and refined muscular lines, massive and full wings, and especially its bright red scales emanating a faint thread-like red glow.
Li Pu had never seen this card's original form, but just based on its aura and appearance, he guessed that the true power of this red dragon might even surpass Long Zuo.
"Unexpected, truly unexpected."
"And it's actually a dragon card..."
What excited him the most was that even without looking at the information tag, he could tell it was undoubtedly a dragon-type card.
With this, he was one step closer to assembling the Seven Dragon Formation.
He even started to imagine that, with card crafting, he might have a chance to assemble the Seven S-Dragon Formation?
But that's thinking too far ahead; for now, let's take a look at this card.
[Beast Lord]
Frenzied, 25 points, S
Attack 30, 150/150
[Beast Lord's Might - Passive]: The Beast Lord gains an additional 50% life and deals +20 damage to beast-type cards.
[Crucial Dragon Form - Passive]: The maximum single damage the Beast Lord can receive is 30 points.
[Red Lotus Shock - 30 Life]: The Beast Lord deals 50 damage to a target, causing [Fear].
[Red Lotus Sweep - 50 Life]: The Beast Lord deals 50 damage to up to three targets in a row.
([Fear]: The target can only perform [Defense] in the next round.)
"Holy crap, this card is too incredible!"
After carefully reviewing the [Beast Lord] card, Li Pu was amazed.
He didn't expect it to not only be a dragon card but also a counter card.
It has quite a strong countereffect on beast-type cards.
With four skills on an S-grade card, each skill of [Beast Lord] is top-notch.
Firstly, the [Beast Lord's Might] not only targets beast-type cards but also increases life by 50%.
Placed in the ace position, it would be 300 life in total, incredibly strong.
Other cards with just this one feature could easily serve as an ace.
What's more, [Beast Lord] has an exceptionally reliable survival passive, [Crucial Dragon Form].
The name of this skill might sound a bit hammy, but it's an indispensable god-tier skill.
It means no matter how strong the opponent's attack is, or how abnormal their moves are, they cannot one-hit-kill the [Beast Lord].
Combined with the +50% life, it's truly impressive.
It's just a pity that the values are slightly lacking.
If the maximum single damage was 30→15 or 10, this alone would make it undeniably worth an S-grade card.
But Li Pu knew he was asking for too much, dreaming of a bicycle.
Then there's the active skills of [Beast Lord], equally top-notch.
First off, it's got high damage and also includes [Fear] control in the attack.
Forcing the opponent to defend, it can effectively disrupt their strategy.
Especially against aggressive or sensory cards, as it hinders energy recovery.
The final skill, [Red Lotus Breath], doesn't even need to be mentioned. It's extraordinarily strong AOE.
It can hit up to three cards at 50 damage each—a lot more powerful than the similarly S-grade[Royal Tiger悠悠].
The only slight downside to the [Beast Lord] card, which isn't really a flaw, is that it uses up a lot of points.
At 25 points, except for some all-or-nothing crazy line-ups, no one would put such a high-point card in play.
Even[Royal Tiger悠悠] only costs 20 points.
In a 6+1 card game, the score limit for a card deck is just 70 points.
One [Beast Lord] takes up 5/14, nearly a third.
Since the version update, he rarely sees cards with such high points on the table.
The scoring share of[Beast Lord]can't even be offset with a 0-point card like[Mind Dragon].
If he really wants to form the Seven S-Dragon Formation, the points might not be enough.
That part will have to be figured out later.
It's tanky, deals damage, and has crowd control—what more could you want?
In any case, the fact that this box contains a card of the caliber of[Beast Lord]already made Li Pu quite satisfied.
He continued flipping through one card after another. In general, the quality was pretty good.
On flipping the last card, another surprise awaited.
Rumble!
A large amount of stone fragments projected from the card surface, differing in size, swirling in mid-air a few times before gradually coming together.
"Nice card!"
This display immediately raised Li Pu's eyebrows.
Though it didn't quite match up to [Beast Lord], it was noticeably stronger than the other cards in this box.
When the fragments fully gathered, their glow flashed, and a complete projection emerged.
"Another dragon card!"
He was absolutely thrilled.
Covered in gray-brown scales that resembled protective rock camouflage.
Like the earlier Red Dragon Beast Lord, this was also a Western Dragon.
But in appearance, it was substantially different.
Its body differed from typical Western Dragons by having a tail that wasn't a regular dragon tail, but a segmented scorpion stinger.
"Could this be the ultimate evolution route for the Scorpion Pincer?"
"Looks like it's a bit inferior to the Great Red Dragon..."
Holding his chin, Li Pu studied it thoroughly.
However, what's more important is the specific content of the card.
[Scorpion Tail Dragon]
Resolute, 9 points, A
Attack 10, 100/100, 0/4
[Loyal Heart - Passive]: When the Scorpion Tail Dragon is added to the deck, the deck's point limit increases by 5.
[Guardian Dragon - Passive]: When the Scorpion Tail Dragon is placed before the ace column, it gains 10 life points/1 energy recovery each unveiling phase.
[Stone Phantom - 4 Energy]: The Scorpion Tail Dragon releases a non-attacking phantom in an empty space and can swap places with it once per turn.
"Great card!"
Li Pu couldn't help laughing after reading through it.
He had just been worried about how to deal with the [Beast Lord]'s high points.
It's like having a pillow delivered when you're sleepy.
"How do these cards in the tin seem like they're specially arranged?"
"There are even synergistic relationships among a few cards."
"Could it be Grandpa's old deck?"
Only then did the realization dawn on him.
But regardless of who owned it before, it's his now anyway.
