Chapter 462: The Outburst from Desperation
Chapter 462: The Outburst from Desperation
"Ve–Vegeta, you hit me so hard…"
"Hah… hah…"
"Bastard, you rammed into me too!"
Panting as they struggled to get up from the ground, Son Goku and Vegeta leaned back-to-back, both looking utterly battered and exhausted.
"So this is all you're really capable of?"
"Kakarot, it's about time we finish them off!"
Vegea sneered, then turned to Gokumi with a cold expression.
With a nod, both Gokumi and Vegea began to move.
Gokumi cupped her hands by her waist, forming a circular posture, while Vegea brought her palms together to form an energy sphere crackling with lightning.
They were preparing to unleash the Kamehameha and Final Flash to end the battle once and for all!
"D-Damn it, my body's got no strength left…"
Sensing the impending danger, Goku instinctively tried to dodge, but staggered and nearly collapsed.
Vegeta was equally anxious. After their relentless string of battles, both of their bodies were covered in injuries, their strength all but depleted. If they couldn't come up with something now, they really would be knocked off the stage!
"Goku! Vegeta!"
"Dad! Vegeta-san!"
"Damn it… don't tell me even Goku and Vegeta have reached their limits?!"
Krillin, Gohan, and the others were filled with anxiety. Even Beerus clenched his fists tightly.
"Unless a miracle happens… this time, Goku-san and Vegeta-san really will be defeated."
With a sigh, Whis—gripping his staff—spoke solemnly.
The gap in strength between the two sides was simply too great. The very fact that Goku and Vegeta had lasted this long was already a miracle.
But in the face of overwhelming power, defeat seemed inevitable.
"What do we do… what do we do…"
Watching Gokumi and Vegea nearly finish charging their attacks, Goku was more frantic than ever, visibly shaken and panicked.
As a seasoned warrior and martial artist, Goku normally didn't fear failure. In fact, each loss only served to push him to greater heights.
But this time was different.
If they lost, their entire universe would be erased—not just them, but all their friends and companions would die.
They could not afford to lose!
And yet the more he panicked, the more his thoughts clouded. He couldn't come up with any way to turn the situation around.
Everyone could see Goku's desperation and helplessness. Just when the people of Universe 7 were sinking into despair, Master Roshi stood up—
"Goku."
"G-Grandpa?"
Master Roshi shouted toward the ring, and Goku turned to look at him.
"Goku, look at yourself—you're a mess."
"Have you forgotten the teachings I once gave you? As martial artists, we must never lose our composure, and never give up hope."
"This battle may determine the life or death of our entire universe, but even if we're wiped out, it's not your burden to carry alone. You don't have to bear that weight."
"You only need to enjoy the battle you love so much."
"So, calm your heart."
"Even that wounded and exhausted body of yours still holds incredible power."
"Feel it. Guide it. And unleash it—fight with everything you've got, Goku!"
Master Roshi's voice echoed throughout the arena, and Goku stood there, stunned.
After a long pause, he finally came back to his senses—and the frantic panic in his expression disappeared.
"I understand now, Grandpa!"
Exhaling softly, Goku closed his eyes.
His absolute trust in Master Roshi left no room for doubt.
He didn't need to carry that heavy burden.
He just needed to enjoy the battle he loved.
Even in his battered, exhausted body, power still slept within—he only needed to feel it, guide it…
It was as if a droplet of water had fallen into parched soil. Goku's deadened spirit slowly reawakened. Under everyone's gaze, he entered a mysterious state of absolute stillness.
"As expected of Master Roshi…"
Atop the Pillar of Time, Yuujin couldn't help but murmur in awe.
Just a few words had awakened Goku, pulled him back to the right path, and helped him rally once again. Even in an arena filled with powerful beings from across the universes, perhaps only Roshi could accomplish something like that.
The other gods and fighters turned to Master Roshi with newfound respect. And seeing Goku calm once again, the old master quietly let out a sigh of relief.
"Vegeta, you too…"
Roshi tried to encourage Vegeta as well—but Vegeta wouldn't have it:
"Hmph, don't try to fool me with your old-man babble!"
"I'm not like Kakarot. My pride—my dignity—that's my greatest strength!"
"AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
With a cold snort, Vegeta clenched his fists and let out a furious roar, erupting in a wild burst of power.
No one knew himself better than Vegeta. It was because he refused to lose to Kakarot that he'd once broken his limits and transformed into a Super Saiyan. It was that same determination that had allowed him to master a power no mortal should control—Super Saiyan Blue.
He had made it this far entirely through his pride and dignity.
And now, once again, he refused to lose—especially not to this woman who bore the same name as him!
These two… he absolutely would not lose to them!
So what if it's Super Saiyan 4? So what if it's some explosive form? I'll surpass my limits right here and now—just watch!
AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
"Well, that's the Vegeta I know. Hohoho…"
Master Roshi just chuckled, unfazed by Vegeta's foul attitude.
At this moment, Goku and Vegeta were like two polar opposites—one utterly still, the other wildly explosive.
One sought peace in his heart. The other unleashed his fury without restraint.
"Hmph. Is this your final struggle?!"
"We already gave you your chance. Now—"
"It's over!"
With cruel smiles tugging at their lips, Vegea and Gokumi launched their fully charged energy waves straight at Vegeta and Goku.
CRAAACK!!!
Under everyone's gaze, the two massive energy blasts tore through space, heading straight for their targets.
50 meters… 40 meters… 30 meters… 20 meters…
Time seemed to slow to a crawl. Everyone's hearts were in their throats. The warriors of Universe 7 were more nervous than they had ever been.
Goku… Vegeta… is this really the end for you?!
But just as the two beams were about to strike Goku and Vegeta—
The two of them opened their eyes.
And in that instant, silver-white and deep-blue beams of light shot into the sky from where Goku and Vegeta stood!
To be continued…
