Chapter 222 - 41: Unifying the Dark Forest
Chapter 222 - 41: Unifying the Dark Forest
"Alliance?"
The Black Dragon’s tone was somewhat surprised.
Did he hear incorrectly?
Those are the Forest Elves, untouched by any evil, with a heart of justice and goodness.
Years ago, when Black Wing Nest actively sought trade with them for mutual benefit, this group of Forest Elves sternly refused, as if even speaking a few more words would taint them with evil.
Though Udi disliked this behavior, he could understand it.
But what situation is this now?
"Can you represent the Emerald Forest?" Udi asked seriously.
"Of course, I am here on behalf of the Emerald Forest, and everything I do and say can represent its attitude," Wind said firmly.
From initially being somewhat chilled by the Black Dragon’s presence, after a couple of exchanges, Wind’s mood gradually calmed down.
He wasn’t wrong; this Black Dragon Lord is indeed an Abnormal Dragon. — An Abnormal Dragon is a term for a dragon different from ordinary Giant Dragons; not necessarily a physical mutation, it also includes character and behavior differing from their own kind.
"Interesting." Udi grinned, pondering for a moment before nodding slightly.
"Black Wing Nest agrees to the alliance."
A smile appeared on Wind’s face.
His ring glowed faintly, and a light green scroll made of leaves appeared in his hand.
"This is the Book of Contract, witnessed by our Forest Elves’ Nature God. Your Lordship can verify the contents."
With a thought, Udi unfolded the Book of Contract.
There were no fancy patterns, just clear and simple contractual terms.
To summarize, there are about two points.
Firstly, both parties shall not infringe upon each other’s territories or commit acts of betrayal and harm.
Secondly, if there are external threats, both parties are obliged to resist together. However, there’s a premise that the attacking enemy has evil intentions. If either provokes other Good Factions, the Emerald Forest will not assist. Conversely, if the Emerald Forest provokes Good Factions, Black Wing Nest is not obligated to help.
"The contract contents are fine, but I think we could add one more thing," Udi mused aloud.
"Please speak, your Lordship," Wind said, a little tense.
Udi looked at the cautious Wind and smiled, "No need to be so nervous; this is just a proposal about matters regarding mutual trade."
Feeling relieved, Wind nodded in agreement with the Black Dragon Lord’s proposal, adding this to the Book of Contract immediately.
Both parties signed the contract.
Vaguely, Udi and Wind both seemed to see a towering green oak tree in the center of the starry sky, resembling the World Tree. On the oak tree, the Nature God, emitting a gentle green vitality, smiled softly at them with kind eyes.
The contract was successfully formed.
The witness was Rilifen Lailafei, the Nature God of the Forest Elf Race.
Regarding this Divine Spirit, there are records in Udi’s Dragon’s Legacy. A good Elf God with Middle Divine Power, controlling the authority over nature and oaks.
After completing the contract, Wind departed, expressing before leaving that he would soon send the Elf Envoy Team to Monster City for inspection and residence. Simultaneously, he invited Black Wing Nest’s envoy team to the Emerald Forest for the same.
Udi delegated this matter entirely to Sofia.
Now that the young dragons are gradually growing up, Sofia’s task as a Dragonling mentor is not as demanding.
"Emerald Forest... alliance..."
In the center of the Dragon Pool, the Black Dragon’s eyes revealed a gleam of amusement.
Before Wind, the Forest Elf envoy arrived, Udi was quite wary of the group of Forest Elves in the north of the Dark Forest, as information collected from various sources proved they had a relatively ancient history.
He wasn’t sure if there were Legendary Elf experts among the group... but that was before. Now, Udi was almost certain there were no Legendary Elf experts in the Emerald Forest!
Otherwise, there would be no need to forge an alliance with him—a Black Dragon—even if he was a neutral one.
Logically, having confirmed the high likelihood of no Legendary Elf expert, Udi could completely relax and disregard the so-called alliance. With his current strength, he could entirely do so.
However, after some thought, Udi still chose to form the alliance.
Considering the Forest Elves have an ancient legacy spanning thousands of years, no one can be certain if they have any horrifying trump cards. Therefore, since the Forest Elves actively seek peace, there’s no reason to refuse.
After all, for Black Wing Nest, there’s no loss; on the contrary, it gains a trade partner that’s affluent and sound, strong but not likely to betray—a welcoming friend. Why not?
"The Emerald Forest alliance means only a few tribes left behind by Centaurs, hiding Wild Dwarves, a small fraction of Monster Race left by Leanna, and scattered Monster Race and Demons remain in the Dark Forest," Udi muttered to himself.
Hence, it’s time to thoroughly control the Dark Forest.
Udi summoned Shiji the Kobold.
"Shiji, lead ten thousand Monster Warriors to clear out all forces and demons in the Dark Forest, except the northern Emerald Forest territory. They must either submit or leave the Dark Forest, otherwise, kill them all or enslave them," Udi stated calmly.
Shiji’s eyes lit up, and he exclaimed excitedly, "Master, I will capture the entire Dark Forest as swiftly as possible!"
