Chapter 176 - 26: Establishing the Dragonling Preschool; Power’s Insights
"Master, they have arrived," Sofia said respectfully.
Kevin, Geller, Said, Yulia, stood neatly and obediently behind Sofia, their bodies upright, their expressions unable to hide their nervousness.
As members of the Dragon Race, they were most aware of what the impressive physique of the Black Giant Dragon represented—absolute power.
Under the gaze of the four dragons and one human, the noise gradually diminished, and the Black Giant Dragon opened its huge brown-yellow Dragon Eye.
A vertical Dragon Pupil, as dark as a deep crevice, spread within the Dragon Eye and fell upon the four young dragons, and the Dragon Beast still slumbering in Sofia’s arms.
"Just one Dragon Beast?"
A rumbling voice like thunder arose, leaving the four little dragons somewhat puzzled.
It seemed the Dragon King was somewhat... disappointed that only one Dragon Beast had been born?
Shouldn’t he be happy?
Dragon Beasts are mindless, and even when they grow, they’re equivalent only to an Advanced Wild Beast. In terms of value, they are higher than ordinary Advanced Wild Beasts and demons. To humans and lower species, they can utilize the Dragon Blood extracted from the degraded lineage of Dragon Beasts to reform their own bloodline.
Some casters would also breed Dragon Beasts, because after all, Dragon Beasts hatch from True Dragon Eggs, and the materials from their bodies are very valuable.
But regardless of value, they definitely can’t compare to a True Dragon.
Why was the Dragon King disappointed?
"Yes, Master," Sofia nodded slightly, gently releasing the Dragon Beast from her embrace.
The invisible Mage’s Hand lifted the slumbering Dragon Beast up towards the Black Giant Dragon’s eye.
Witnessing this, the four young dragons collectively gulped, swallowing their saliva, fear in their eyes.
Given the actions and dialogue, is the terrifying Black Giant Dragon in front of them considering the Dragon Beast as food?!
Although there are indeed cases of dragons eating Dragon Beasts, and quite a few, the acceptance of this practice among Evil Dragons is not high.
With the four young dragons’ tense and rigid bodies, and their gaze fixed upon it, a large drop of crimson thick blood began to ooze slowly from the Black Giant Dragon’s scales.
The enormous droplet hovered in the air, flew toward the Dragon Beast, and ultimately enveloped the entire body.
Then, slowly, the crimson thick Dragon Blood was completely ’devoured’ by the ink-green Dragon Beast’s body.
Throughout the process, the Dragon Beast remained asleep.
"Seems like this little fellow devoured quite a bit of my magical treasures, still unable to wake up," the Black Giant Dragon spoke again, its tone indifferent.
"This is my fault," Sofia lowered her head and apologized.
"It’s alright, it ate then it ate, it can repay tenfold when it grows up,"
The Black Giant Dragon grinned, clearly unconcerned.
It liked treasures, true, but far from as stubborn and miserly as other Giant Dragons.
Losing some treasures now, in the future, this Dragon Beast will bring more, and this transaction is evidently extremely worthwhile.
"Indeed, it should be named," the Black Giant Dragon pondered, thought for a moment, then its eyes brightened, here,
"It shall be... Aeolus."
"Yes, Master," Sofia nodded. The Dragon Beast lacks intelligence currently, so this name was the Master’s way of informing her, allowing her to be aware, also to inform the other servants of Black Castle.
And when the Dragon Beast gains intelligence and the ability to think, this name will follow it for its lifetime.
"And as for these four little dragons," the Black Giant Dragon finally directed its gaze upon Kevin, Yulia, and the four young dragons.
The pressure of being watched by the enormous Giant Beast made the freshly born little dragons freeze, their dragon brains somewhat muddled.
What does granting Dragon Beast Dragon Blood signify?
What does giving a name to the Dragon Beast signify?
Why does it feel vastly different from the knowledge recorded in the Dragon’s Legacy?
The Black Giant Dragon considered for a moment and devised a plan,
"Black Castle shall establish a Dragonling preschool, dedicated to teaching the Dragonlings born here. The curriculum will be combat, vocational knowledge, and values shaping... focusing primarily on values shaping... Sofia, you should thoughtfully consider the specifics... the Dragonling preschool will be entirely under your charge."
Sofia was somewhat stunned, surprised that the Master entrusted her with such an important responsibility... her heart inexplicably moved and excited, she nodded firmly,
"Master, Sofia will not fail your trust, and will thoroughly educate these Dragonlings."
"Hmm, I believe in you," the Black Giant Dragon responded.
Compared to the aggressive Ava and the contemplative Isha, Sofia was the most suitable within Black Castle for teaching Dragonlings.
Over the years, Sofia’s every action was seen clearly by it. Though lacking in natural talent, she was methodical in actions and sufficiently stable and cautious.
Most importantly, Sofia held no secrets from it, entirely devoted to it.
.....
Outside the Dragon Pool, on the Ink Black Square.
Sofia casually handed the slumbering Dragon Beast to a Dragon-blooded Human servant, then looked at the restless Little Green Dragons, revealing a faint smile,
"From now on, all four of you must listen to me; I am your teacher."
The four young dragons, having endured for a long time, finally couldn’t hold back.
The first to step forth was the leader Kevin, who growled lowly, his tone agitated, "We don’t need to learn, even if we did, you as a Dragon-blooded Human are far from qualified!"
