Chapter 148 - 17: Black Castle; Offer Your Humble Loyalty
Chapter 148 - 17: Black Castle; Offer Your Humble Loyalty
Wilson’s visit to the Mountain Stream Dragon Nest was not just about bringing some human specialties.
He had a more important purpose.
Wilson and Shiji walked along the little paths between the tribe’s wooden huts, chatting casually.
"Chief Shiji, your tribe is quite well built, and the environment is good... though the style is a bit too simple and rough," Wilson commented, observing the tall wooden and stone houses lined up on both sides.
Shiji nodded slightly, his expression casual, "Houses are just places to shelter from the wind and rain and sleep; we monsters do not have high demands for these."
Wilson merely smiled upon hearing this and did not continue the topic.
After a while, Shiji spoke up voluntarily. With a pondering brow, he asked in a probing tone, "Wilson, in your territory, do you have any humans skilled in architectural design?"
The term ’architectural design’ was something Shiji had learned from his master.
Wilson was momentarily surprised, then delighted at the thought: No need for him to broach the subject when the other party had laid it out himself?
Well, that’s fortunate!
"Of course, we do. We are currently expanding the construction of Pross City, which is designed by Master Deen. Master Deen has also participated in the construction of the Purple Thorn Duke’s castle... If Chief Shiji needs him, shall I bring him here?" Wilson said.
"All right, bring that Master Deen over," Shiji decided without hesitation, directly asking for him.
Though his relationship with Wilson was good, as the Dragon Nest Grand Steward, even Roy had to obey his commands, let alone Wilson, who was his son.
Wilson summoned the caster who came to the Mountain Stream Dragon Nest this time to relay the message back to the Pross Town territory.
After completing this, Wilson nodded slightly to Shiji and said, "The message is sent, Master Deen will arrive tomorrow."
It’s direct like this; there wasn’t even a need to inform the other party before a decision was made.
Referring to Master Deen only because of his architectural prowess, there’s just a small bit of respect regarding construction matters.
The real attitude is essentially to summon and dismiss at will. Without real strength, no matter how skilled his craft, his status won’t be elevated.
"May I ask, what building are you planning to construct, or are you planning to build a city?" Wilson asked with curiosity.
He was indeed curious, especially since Shiji had just mentioned that they don’t care about how beautiful or unattractive the architecture is.
And the environment Wilson saw along the way gave him that impression, especially the white stone tower.
Tens of meters high, taking up considerable space, but aside from its size, the details were crudely done. If Wilson hadn’t known this was a Mage Tower (minimalist), he would have thought it was a lighthouse built from a pile of stone bricks, serving as a guide for the lost.
But it seems it can’t guide anything either... because the Mountain Stream Territory is almost surrounded by mighty mountains; unless the White Tower is thousands of meters high, it won’t be visible from the outside.
"A few days ago, the master issued a command, saying they want to establish a Dragon City Castle for living," Shiji mentioned, a bit troubled.
The master’s orders must be completed, and Shiji was very willing to do so.
Shiji’s current worry was about what kind of Dragon City Castle would be worthy of the master?
Simply being tall and large to accommodate the master’s majestic dragon body; with the effect of using magic by a group of low-level Dragon Vein Mages in the territory, that’s still achievable.
But then, it would merely resemble the current Mage Tower. Describing it nicely as rugged, realistically, it’s ugly and barbaric.
Upon hearing Shiji’s words, Wilson’s heart skipped a beat.
A great opportunity!
"Chief Shiji, if you trust me, I can take on the mission of the Dragon City Castle for you and complete it," Wilson said, his eyes burning as he looked at Shiji.
Shiji’s brows furrowed slightly; he glanced at Wilson unexpectedly and kindly advised, "The master’s affairs must not be taken lightly. If you accept this task, and it’s not done well... when the master becomes furious, you won’t be in great shape."
"Naturally, to build the Dragon City Castle for the Black Dragon King is the highest honor. I, Wilson, would not dare be negligent; I will certainly do my best to accomplish it... If the Black Dragon King is not satisfied, I, Wilson, will accept any punishment from them!"
Wilson said firmly.
He was not betting his life on this because, from years of understanding, the Black Dragon King does not particularly care about the death of followers but likewise, does not randomly vent their anger onto them, taking the torture of followers as entertainment.
Wilson felt that the Black Dragon King was entirely different from ordinary chaotic evil black dragons, with an alignment leaning more towards neutral evil or chaotic neutral.
Because of this, Wilson dared to take on this construction task.
Shiji gave Wilson a deep look, finally nodding in agreement.
Shiji himself was aware that his group of monsters knew nothing about construction?
No matter how it’s constructed, it certainly wouldn’t compare to humans. Human architecture in the Star Realm may not be the best, but it’s certainly the most, and it best fits the multi-racial aesthetic.
Wilson was very pleased to receive the task.
He wasted no time, hurriedly bid farewell to Shiji, and then left the Mountain Stream Dragon Nest with his team.
