Chapter 503: The Regent King Wants a Kiss 34
Su Yan bit her lip, her gaze drifting towards him.
"You’re not happy?"
Yu Wenxu’s eyes swept across her face.
He paused for a moment.
"You leave for seven days without a single word, and now you suddenly return, do you think I should be very happy?"
Su Yan blinked.
"I, I went to look for something."
She said with a tone of righteous indignation.
"What thing?"
Su Yan pointed at his right leg.
"I know of a Spiritual Medicine that can cure the poison in your body."
As she said this, Su Yan puffed out her chest proudly.
In contrast, Yu Wenxu appeared quite indifferent.
"Oh? Did you find it?"
As his words fell, Su Yan deflated.
She muttered hesitantly, in a low voice,
"The Golden Spirit Flower hasn’t bloomed yet; I’ll need to check on it again after some time."
It hadn’t been easy for her to find that place, and she’d even been bitten by a bug attached to the Golden Spirit Flower.
The bite was on her neck.
Even though it didn’t feel very painful, Xiao Hua insisted that she hurry back to find Yu Wenxu.
Originally, she had planned to wait there until the flower bloomed and pick the Golden Spirit Flower for him.
As she thought this, her gaze shifted to Yu Wenxu.
She noticed his eyes were downcast; he wasn’t looking at her anymore.
And he wasn’t holding her as he used to.
He just leaned against the headboard, silently allowing her to cling to him, neither accepting nor rejecting.
He was so... cold and somewhat distant.
Usually focused only on eating and drinking, Su Yan was quick to perceive Yu Wenxu’s mood.
Almost immediately, she realized he didn’t seem very happy to see her.
And so, her initial joy began to fade.
Extending her hand, she tugged at his sleeve, slightly puzzled,
"What’s wrong with you?"
In her mind, Xiao Hua quietly made a sound,
"Host, could it be that during your absence, he was distracted by another cute little animal that doesn’t eat much?"
Upon hearing this, a sense of crisis surged in Su Yan’s heart.
Causing her to feel uneasy.
Another animal, one that doesn’t eat much and also looks cute?
She eats a lot, and her original body was quite chubby, appearing like a lump.
Thinking this way, Su Yan looked at Yu Wenxu,
"Did you miss me?"
She asked aloud.
Yu Wenxu’s gaze swept over her expectant face.
He said nothing.
Su Yan preempted him,
"I, I missed you a lot, thinking of you while eating, and dreaming of you while sleeping."
She hugged him, her head resting on his chest, her eyes hopeful.
After a long while, Yu Wenxu reached out, stroked her soft and slightly damp hair, his thin lips curving into a shallow smile.
But his eyes were devoid of mirth,
"Is it me you miss, or the meals at the Prince Mansion?"
Upon hearing this, Su Yan hesitated for a moment,
"I, I miss both."
Yu Wenxu’s smile grew wider, but his voice became even more indifferent.
"Hmm."
A neutral grunt in response, then nothing more.
Su Yan, observing the smile on his face, swallowed and said slowly,
"You don’t seem happy, are you just trying to comfort me? Don’t you miss me?"
He looked at her, his thin lips parting and closing,
"Is that very important?"
Su Yan nodded earnestly,
"Very important."
Seeing her serious expression, he laughed softly.
"Does Little Guai care about me?"
"I care."
He lowered his gaze for an instant, lifting his eyelids, his eyes calm and placid,
"If Little Guai cared about me, she wouldn’t have left silently, making me think she’d never return.
Perhaps you took a stroll outside and realized that the food everywhere else couldn’t compare to that of the Prince Mansion, so you returned under the pretense of missing me greatly."
