The Violence Witch’s Yuri Harem

Chapter 239 – A New School

Chapter 239 – A New School

“Are you ready, soldier? This world’s survival depends solely on you. Stick to the mission and do what you must. We’re dropping you in!” Miyuki placed a hand on my shoulder.

“No, you’re not…” There was a portal in front of us, but she wasn’t strong enough to push me in. Try as she might, she couldn’t even make me budge.

As per our plan, Miyuki took me to a portal so that I could go to the other world and meet with Velvet. This one was located under some unused stairs inside a university not too far from our hideout. We had no business being here, for obvious reasons, so getting here was nerve-wracking.

Miyuki, with her boundless confidence, had just us walk in and act like we belonged, and it worked. No one stopped us, and we made it to the portal no problem. Since summer vacation was over, people were coming back to classes, and we blended in with the crowd.

We did get lots of stares, though…

And I knew people were going to stare because we looked younger than most of the students here. But what I couldn’t have seen coming was that my partner in crime had the bright idea of wearing a military commander outfit today.

“You’re such an idiot, Miyuki! Why the commander outfit? Why did you hit me with the soldier talk? And why are you still trying to push me in?! Stop it!”

“Hmm? Isn’t it kinda funny?”

“*Sigh…!* I thought I was getting better but I’d still kill to have even an ounce of your confidence… At least we didn’t get caught.”

Miyuki just shrugged. “It’s Three Records, Iroha. Even if I went to school like this, no one’s gonna do anything other than label me as a weirdo forever. But since I’m me, I can just wear some cool clothes and overwrite with a stylish label whenever.”

“It’s easy for you to say, but if I end up coming here after I graduate, I’ll be known as the weirdo’s friend.”

“And so what? You can go on with your life no matter what they think of you, can’t you?”

“I guess so… I mean, I do have an ultimate win-all-arguments trump card. If someone were to say ‘hey, look, it’s that military freak’s friend!’ I can just hit them with the ‘yeah, and I have a harem of hot chicks who are all over me and sleep with me every night, so who’s the loser?’ No comeback from that, right?”

She hit me with a judgmental stare. “Ehhh…? Who exactly are you sleeping with every night, you poser? Like, Iroha, you’re still kind of a coward when it comes to that.”

“Sh- shu- shut up! I’ve slept with almost everyone at least once! Just normal sleep…” Maybe I am a chicken. “I meant it more metaphorically. Don’t take it too literally!”

“Fufufu… You’re so cute, Iroha… We could make it literal right now if you’re up for it…” Miyuki slid a finger inside her collar and pulled the tight, black shirt under the commander’s suit down to expose a bit of her cleavage. “Be quick…” She winked.

“I told you to shut it, didn’t I?” Head chop! “Stick to the mission. You even said that earlier. Anything I should know about this portal before jumping in? Where am I gonna go?”

Miyuki rubbed her head with fake tears in her eyes. “I dunno… Somewhere near your target’s school. You’re on your own from there.”

“I see…” Fake or not, her tears got to me, so I gave her a quick goodbye kiss. “I’ll be going then. I’ll see you soon.”

“Yeah… Good luck, Iroha!”

Going through the portal was simple, and I was in the other world in an instant. However… this is very tight… Where am I? It’s like there’s a slab of stone over me!

First things first, I turned on my disguise. No matter what happens, I’m safe now.

This nook was shaped like a stone coffin, but there was a hole on one of the sides. I got outside just by rolling over. Over me was now the cloudy red sky of the Demon Territory, spiraling around a vortex of light created from a beam that shot out from the distance. The sun doesn’t shine here. That vortex is their universal source of light.

I made it. So far so good.

After standing up, the coffin turned out to not be a coffin at all. It was a stone bench resting against a tall wall. And pulling back a bit further, it’s a bench on a school campus. And the wall could very well be the back wall of the school.

The campus itself was huge. There were three giant rectangular buildings in an L-shape, and I was between two of them. The one the bench was resting up against seemed like a normal school. Lots of windows on its long walls that illuminated the classrooms inside.

The building behind me also looked like a school, but this one was not so normal. I’d say it was like they built a school by extending and building on top of a giant gymnasium. Very disorderly and all over the place. Maybe this is the sports department. And if this sports department was at one end of the L, then the engineering department would be at the other end. It’s quite far from where I am, but that’s the vibe I got from the last building. It’s looks as if a school merged with a giant factory and got some additions to look extra high-tech.

Lots of places to check out.

That was it for the three buildings nearby. There was a path coming from a gate far away leading to the normal school that split halfway through towards the sports department. The whole campus seemed to be fenced off, but there was still another set of buildings inside. Splitting off from the main path again, it lead down to what looked to be student dorms. With how big and high-class everything looks, I’m starting to think I’m in a school for rich kids.

“Whew…” That was a lot to take in…

The space between the two buildings didn’t have a lot of people using it, but since it was between two of the main buildings, a lot of people saw me while going from one place to the other.

And they saw me crawling from under the bench.

And they saw me standing around like a weirdo.

And they’re probably going to label me a weirdo…

Trump card or no trump card, that’s still embarrassing as hell! “I need to get out of here!”

I ran inside the school building through the first door I saw and ended up in a random hallway.

It was early in the morning when Miyuki and I left the hideout, and it looks like the time here is about the same. There are demons and non-demons scrambling to get to their classrooms everywhere.

And a lot of them are kinda scary…

They’re loud while walking, don’t pay attention to where they’re going, and bump and glare each other down. In a way, it’s not too bad to be so energetic in the morning. But it feels like I’ve walked into a school of delinquents…

Now, what exactly should I do now that I’m here?

Maybe there’s a hint in the memories I still have of Velvet from the game. Velvet is a character that makes a lot of appearances throughout the whole game but only becomes important near the second half. She’s an ally of Galene inside the enemy’s forces. She’s the genius responsible for creating the VISS Driver, and she’s the one who gives Galene the VISS Driver in the very beginning.

Now, is that how things turned out in our reality? I mean, I got the VISS Driver instead of Galene. But from how many skills Galene can use, I’m pretty sure she has the VISS Driver as well. Did she have to make a second one because of me? Maybe the reason Galene’s not super strong yet is because she got the VISS Driver later.

Guess that doesn’t really matter right now. Velvet’s an inventor, so if I’m going to run into her, it’s probably going to be in the engineering department. I need to meet her through Lythea for us to start off on a good foot, so I should be fine as long as I don’t go there.

“Bumping into her before then would be the worse.”

Also, I have the feeling that it’s not going to be hard to find out more about her if I ask around. She had the resources to make one, if not two, VISS Drivers, so she must be someone really important. She was important in the game too. I bet everyone must know about her at least a little.

And so, I can forget about Velvet for now. “Finding Lythea is my priority.”

According to Miyuki, Lythea should be in the academy until tomorrow. She’s been waiting for us to go after Thivadi, and tomorrow is the day she will give up on waiting and go on her own. The others are already moving to team up with her, so we should be fine there.

But that means I have to meet her today. If I don’t, my VISS Driver will never be fixed.

“Can’t let that happen.”

I hate approaching strangers, but so be it. I need to find someone to ask some questions. The scary-looking students I can leave alone… N- not because I’m intimidated or anything! I don’t wanna pick a fight with anyone while I’m trying to be sneaky! Yeah! I’m not actually a chicken…

So I settled for approaching a girl with long dark-purple hair and spiraling horns. “Hey… Can I ask you something?” She was leaning against a wall next to a classroom door, clearly disinterested in her surroundings.

“What’s wrong?” She slightly turned her face to the side. It was the most neutral yet still faintly friendly response ever. “You look like you’re dying.”

“Dying inside… Don’t worry about it.” I said. “I’m looking for someone. Do you know a girl named Lythea? Lythea Heart Kamelia?”

“Hmm… Doesn’t ring any bells… Is she a succubus? I need a little more to work with.”

“Yeah, she’s a succubus.” How did she know? “She has blue, messy hair, and she’s… Kinda meek?”

“A meek succubus?” The girl frowned. “Succubi are all pretty flashy… Are you sure she’s a succubus?”

“Yeah… I guess you don’t know her then, huh? Thanks for the help. I’ll try asking someone else.” I briefly bowed, then left the girl.

Lythea’s not as well known as Velvet, huh? It makes sense… Haven’t I heard her lamenting being unpopular in one of her self-deprecating rants? Asking around at random for her might not work.

“I need a new strategy…”

I reached the stairs while wandering in thought. I needed a new approach, so I went up the stairs after a certain sign pointing that way caught my attention. A sign saying “student council”.

It’s a risky move…

The student council should be able to look up any student. If Lythea’s a student here, they’ll find her. However, they know everyone, so they might see through my disguise. But I can’t afford to play it slow… That never works out… I’m not letting Lythea escape.

The signs led me to the top floor and down the hallway to the left of the stairs. The room labeled “student council” was right in front of me… I’m so lucky they have those here.

Then the door slid open. Before I could even get close, a pair of blue-haired girls left the room. The blue on the girl out first was richer. She walked in a confident, queenly manner. She was the complete opposite of the girl behind her. Her hair was dark like the night sky and practically hid behind the first girl, making herself seem as small as possible.

“Uh oh…”

The first one had dark horns with a golden glint in their tiny crevices popping out of her head, and the girl behind her had the cute tiny wings typical of a succubus peeking out from behind her messy hair. And if I had to guess their names…

“Velvet and Lythea… It’s them!”
