Chapter 102

‘He mentioned wanting to talk to me, didn’t he?’

I recalled Kyes opening his mouth awkwardly as if trying to say something while I was talking with Eiren.

Not that I was particularly curious. I decided to delay speaking with Kyes as much as possible.

First, I needed to check on Bella.

“Did you sleep well?”

When I asked if the music from last night had disturbed her sleep, Bella nodded.

“That’s good. Why don’t we let the person waiting outside keep waiting and have breakfast first?”

Bella hesitated, clearly wanting to play right away.

I thought of something that might persuade her.

“You need to eat breakfast to get stronger.”

It wasn’t a lie—eating breakfast would give her the energy she needed.

Bella pursed her lips before finally nodding in agreement.

“Alright.”

With that, I set her down and got up. I yawned and turned my head to admire the dazzling Leshuan lying beside me.

‘As expected, she really is the heroine…’

If sunlight were a person, it would be Leshuan.

I debated whether to wake her but decided to wait until breakfast. She seemed to have fallen asleep even later than I did last night, and I wanted to let her rest a bit longer. Once she was up, there would be plenty for her to worry about.

To help her sleep, I carefully drew the curtains to block out the light and turned on the phonograph at a low volume, letting a lively waltz play softly.

‘I hope she’s having good dreams.’

After tucking the blanket around her, I stood up.

“How did you manage breakfast here?” I asked Bella, concerned about her using the stove unsupervised, given her young age.
