The Unwanted Mate

Chapter 81

Chapter 81

"Pick her up, guys. The fight is over, " Victor announced, turning towards his followers. "Let's go, I don't have any more time to waste here, "

"B-But…. " One of the hunters decided to speak up while the others stood there confused.

"But what? " Their leader raised a brow.

The man gulped. "T-The wind is still strong… we can't pass through that… without getting i-injured or lost… "

Derned frowned. "Why isn't the wind still down? You stabbed her just now… how is she still holding up?! "

"Hey! " Victor turned to the omega. "Stop using your magic. You're only going to tire yourself out. Do you want to lose it all?"

Evelyn looked up, her eyes emitting a deadly aura that made Victor second guess for a moment.

Victor's expression turned to a troubled one.

"Why are you in a hurry, Victor? " The girl grunted in pain as she pulled out the knife from her body. She bit her lips. Even if it was a small knife, it hurt like hell.

She was out of breath from the pain and she needed as much energy as she could get.

"Deadly nightshade… huh?" She asked, gripping the knife in her hand. "You wanted to make me weak enough to surrender rather than kill me, "

"Of course, " Victor chuckled. "The whole point of this fight was to take you alive. I want your powers, beautiful… " He caressed the girl's cheeks. "And think about how powerful our offspring would be… How can I miss out on the opportunity to make a powerful heir? "

The omega gritted her teeth as she heard the vampire. Victor disgusted her to the core.

He wanted to make a child just for the sake of power it could possess…

Greed blinded him.

"So just be a good girl and don't make a fuss. I'll give you the medicine as soon as we reach our destination, " He smirked.

"I don't think I'll have to wait that long, "

Victor looked down instantly, surprised at how confident Evelyn sounded. "Aren't you a little too—"

"Argh! Mhmffm!! "

The vampire looked up in surprise when he heard a hunter's choking voice.

The guy who held Evelyn down was violently scratching his neck as he spat out choking noises. His knees buckled as his grip on the omega loosend.

Everyone stood confused and silent before Derned decided to speak up.

"What's happening?! Why is he choking all of a sudden?! "

"L-Look! There's a vine! It's under his coat! " Another hunter shouted while he pointed towards the guy on the ground.

Victor looked at the omega, his eyes widening in realization. "You bitch! " He slapped the girl's cheek hard. "Playing tricks even when you're on the brink of death?! You sure have some guts!"

Evelyn spat out the blood in her mouth. The slap was so hard that it made her lips bleed. "You're stupid, Victor… " The girl grimaced from the pain as she spoke but soon a small smile formed on her bleeding lips.

"Trying to kill someone who grows plants with a plant? Your poison won't do anything to me, " She scoffed.

Victor gritted his teeth, his hands raising to strangle the omega but the man froze before he could even touch her. He whipped his head towards the hunters when he heard them shout and scream.

Most of them were on the ground, being crushed by the vines tightening around them like a Python while the others were strangled by them.

A hunter screamed out when a vine pierced into his heart. He choked on his blood as he tried to call Victor's name.

Evelyn watched everything with a stoic expression. She was done being sympathetic.

Victor caught the omega by her throat. "Release them! " He screamed in her face. The vampire was seething, his eyes turning blood red and canines expanding as a sign of threat.

He thought he won the fight but everything turned around in a second. He wasn't ready to accept that.

He wasn't ready to give up.

Evelyn took in a deep breath before she smirked. "Y-You're going to die, " She smiled.

And before Victor could say anything back, he was knocked down and pinned to the ground.

Large vines wrapped around him, making him unable to move. The vampire struggled to rip it off and he did succeed to rip off some of them but the vines were continuously sprouting and they were longer and thicker than before.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you now. I want you to watch all of your hunters die in pain… before I kill you and make you regret everything you did to me, " Evelyn stood up with a grin on her face.

Derned slashed the vines that wrapped around his legs and tried to charge at the omega.

He threw the knife at her along with five other blades.

The girl had a hard time dodging it but she successfully did it, even though it left some scratches on her arm and cheek.

"Fuck! " Derned cursed when he was slammed to the ground.

The omega smiled as she held him down. "Look around," She said and Derned grunted in discomfort as he was struggling to breathe.

It felt like all the air was sucked out of his body and surroundings.

"Half of your hunters are gone, " The girl had a sinister smile on her lips. It almost seemed like she was losing her mind.

"Soon all of them will be gone, "

Evelyn stood up and watched as the vines enveloped Derned completely, leaving only his head out.

He was struggling to get out but he couldn't move even a little bit.

The omega looked at the hunters fighting and cutting the vines. They were shouting and screaming as they tried not to fall to the ground.

Most of them were out of breath and staggering. A sign that they were losing energy.

Easy targets.

Evelyn thought as she walked towards them.

It only took a tug on the leg or on their clothes to push them to the ground.

Some were very persistent though. They fought diligently and Evelyn had to force her energy a little too much on them.

Evelyn watched silently as they choked and wriggled on the ground, trying every way possible to escape the death grip of the vines.

She watched the horror of death in their eyes as they stared at her helplessly, calling out her name for mercy.

But Evelyn felt no remorse.

Not this time.

She watched their eyes go still.

Their bodies turn lifeless.

And in a way, she felt relieved and….

a little satisfied…

There was something in the back of her mind that continuously uttered the words…

"They don't deserve to live… "
