Chapter 73

"Keiran, what's the plan?" David turned to the alpha.

"Fight with the weapons first. I'm pretty sure most of the hunters are going to be vampires because the majority of Victor's followers are them. They don't heal as fast as we can so it will help us to weaken them for some time. Do not change into your wolf form unless you don't have any weapon, "

"The medical team will split into four groups. Each group will stay in the place assigned to them. It will help to assist the warriors faster. I'm going to split the warriors into ten groups. Each of them will have a leader and will focus on specific areas. We need to be well prepared and planned for this, " The alpha turned to David.

"Your warriors will be under your command and you can choose where you want to fight, "

"We'll fight on the front beside you, " David declared proudly. "We're here to support you and we will do it till the fight is over, "

Keiran smiled. "Then let's pack the weapons. They're currently making their way towards our pack through the North but we should assign some warriors to the South part too because there might be a surprise attack, "

"Keiran, take me with you, "

The alpha frowned when he heard his mother's words.

"Mom—"

"No, " Scarlett's voice was stern. It left no space for an argument but Keiran wasn't ready to bring his mother into such a fierce battle.

"Hear me out, please… " The alpha sighed. "We're shifting the omegas and older people to the packhouse. They're all panicked about what's happening. Dad is fighting with us. Someone needs to be there with them to assure them it's okay. Only you can handle it well, "

"But I can't stay there and do nothing when all of you are fighting out there. I'm a trained alpha female. I can help you greatly—"

"I know, mom. I know you can help me but right now this is the best thing you can do. We'll assign some warriors with you in case any hunters got to the packhouse, then you guys can take care of them, "

Scarlett sighed. "Fine… " She trailed off. She wanted to fight but right now what Keiran said was the best thing to do.

Scarlett looked up when Calvin called her. The beta hesitated for a moment before he took a step forward towards her direction.

"Rain is asleep… he doesn't know about the attack… He might panic when he wakes up. Please calm him down and also, make him take his meds on time…. He always forgets that, " The beta mumbled out.

Scarlett couldn't help but notice the light blush on his cheeks. The former luna smiled. "I'll take care of him, don't worry. Be careful when you fight, "

"Let's go, everyone! Time is running out! "

"Can you smell their presence? "

"No, I think they are masking their scent, " Keiran frowned.

David hummed in reply. "I don't understand why they revealed their self when they weren't planning to

fight right away, "

"I think that was an accident, " Josh said.

Calvin nodded, agreeing with him. "Maybe they're planning to attack on dawn like they did before, "

"Where's Niya and Evelyn? " David looked around.

"They're in the back. Evelyn is pretty shaken up. Niya is comforting her, " Keiran looked back.

"Can she fight? I know she has powers and she can take us all down anytime but is she mentally prepared for all this? This is something she never did in her life after all… " David trailed off.

Keiran looked down. "She must be scared but I'm sure she can handle this… I should go talk to her… " He turned around. "Calvin, alert me if you guys find anything suspicious, " The alpha ordered before walking away towards his mate.

"Evelyn, "

The omega looked up as soon as she heard her mate's voice. Her eyes widened and she didn't waste a minute before attaching herself to Keiran's chest.

The alpha wrapped his arms around the girl and placed a soft kiss on her head.

"Are you scared, love? "

"A little, " Her voice was shaky.

"Don't be. I'm sure we can take them down. Just be confident. Our confidence will make them doubt their self, "

"Be careful, okay? " Evelyn tugged the alpha's head down. "Don't get hurt, " She whispered before catching his lips with hers.

Keiran hugged her close and deepened the kiss. People around them distanced themselves from the couple to give them a little privacy.

The omega panted when they separated.

"I want to stay like this forever, " She said, snuggling into her mate's chest with a sigh.

Keiran buried his face in the crook of her neck, taking in the calming jasmine scent.

"After this fight… we can do this as much as we want, " He placed a kiss on her neck.

"Alpha! "

Keiran swiftly turned around when he heard a warrior shout. He stood in front of his mate protectively.

"The leader of the hunters wants to talk to you, " The warrior said out loud breathlessly.

"Victor? "

"Yes, "

He turned to Evelyn. "Stay here. I'll go talk to him, "

The omega clenched her fist. "No, I'm coming with you, "

"Evelyn, Victor is dangerous. I don't want to—"

"No, " The girl cut him off instantly. "I'm not gonna let you go alone. He's here for me and I have a lot of questions that need to be answered… I'm not gonna wait any longer,"

Keiran looked at her surprised. Is this the same omega that was shaking a little while ago?

What happened?

"Evelyn… are you sure? You were very nervous a little while ago so… "

"I wasn't scared for me, " She looked up. "I was scared thinking about others that are going to get hurt, "

"Look who's here, " A sinister chuckle left from the man's lips as he eyed the couple approaching him. "Are you already surrendering her to me? " He quirked an eyebrow.

Keiran gritted his teeth.

"I'm not here to surrender, " Evelyn spoke up before her mate could.

"Hmm… feisty, " The vampire laughed. "You weren't like this before if I remember correctly, " He paused for a second before a small smirk crept onto his face. "The last time I saw you, you were crying and wailing before I killed your father, "

"It's a pity you slipped off my hands then, "

The omega's eyes darkened. The stinging pain in her heart fuelled her whole body to almost punch a hole in the face of the vampire standing in front of her.
