Chapter 67

"It's too hard to control this, " Evelyn bit her lips.

"Focus, Eve. You have to direct the wind towards your right. Right now it's all over the place, " Niya walked up to the girl.

"Focus your mind in the direction you want it to flow, " The witch encouraged.

It was too hard for the omega. She felt like it was overflowing from her hands.

"I'm trying t-to but it is—"

"It's all over the place because your mind is all over the place, "

"Luna, the alpha said he needs to see you right now, "

Evelyn jumped in surprise when she heard Rain's voice. She whipped her head towards the boy who was smiling at her.

But unfortunately, as she turned her focus towards the omega the wind flew towards that direction as well and Rain wasn't ready to face the strong gush of air that came towards him.

He gasped as he flew back from the force of it.

Evelyn's eyes grew wide.

"Rain! " She called out in panic but it was too late.

The boy fell down after hitting a tree. He hugged himself and groaned in pain as the branches of the tree scratched his body and ripped his sweater.

"No! Niya! Call for help! " The omega screamed in panic when she saw the blood.

Niya nodded before she ran towards the packhouse.

"Rain? Are you okay? C-Can you breathe?"

Evelyn asked, taking the boy's head into her hands.

She was shaking as she looked at Rain.

The boy was struggling.

"H-Hurts… " He croaked out. "I-I can't move, "

Evelyn wiped her tears to clear her vision. Her heart thumping like it was going to explode.

"Don't w-worry, help is on the way, " She looked in the direction of the packhouse before looking back down at the curled-up omega.

"I-I'm so sorry, Rain. I didn't mean to h-hurts you, " Evelyn slowly laid the boy's head in her lap.

She bit her lips.

The scene strangely reminded her of her father's death.

Someone dear to her got hurt because of her.

Again.

"Evelyn! What happened? "

Evelyn turned towards the sound to see Amelia running towards her followed by Josh, Niya, and Calvin.

"Is he okay?!" Josh asked frantically, kneeling next to the omega.

"He's injured. He can't move. Please do something, " Evelyn looked at Amelia who was already looking down at the boy.

The doctor tried to make Rain look up at her but the omega only whimpered and curled up more.

"I can't do anything when he's in this position. We need to take him to the clinic, "

Josh looked up. "I'll carry him to—"

"No, I'll do it. Move, " Calvin interrupted before he kneeled. He gently took the boy's hands into his and Rain immediately recognized his mate's touch.

"It h-hurts," The boy sobbed and curled up against his mate's chest.

"I know. It's going to be okay, " Calvin whispered as he stood up. "Come on, " He said to the others before striding towards the packhouse.

Evelyn was trembling as she walked. She couldn't wrap her head around what just happened.

She can't even control her powers.

How is she going to protect others with it?

"What happened? "

Evelyn jumped back from her thoughts when she heard Keiran's voice.

The omega let her tears flow as she ran towards him.

Keiran stumbled back from the force of Evelyn hugging him suddenly. She buried her face on his chest, her body shaking as she sobbed. "I h-hurt him, "

Keiran wrapped his arms around her confused. "You hurt Rain? "

He felt her nod.

"I was training and t-then he came to tell me you called me b-but when I turned, I accidentally injured him, "

"It's okay, you didn't do it intentionally, " Keiran tried to calm her.

"But what if his injury is b-bad? "

"Evelyn, he's a wolf. He will heal easily, don't worry. Let's go and see him now, " Keiran kissed the girl's forehead before taking her to the clinic.

"How's he? " The alpha asked as soon as he saw Amelia.

The doctor sighed. "He's injured. The branches of the tree pierced his skin pretty badly. He has some bad scratches on his back and he cried every time I tried to touch him so we had to sedate him. He's sleeping now, "

"Will he be alright? " Evelyn asked.

"Yes, he can heal himself because of his wolf but now… it might take some time, " Amelia rubbed her temple.

"Why is that? " Keiran frowned, wrapping his arms around his worried mate.

"You see, Rain's wolf is really exhausted. After his injury on his birthday night, we had to force Calvin and him together so he could get better. His wolf is weak from the ignorance and lack of affection from his mate. Calvin only married him to shut us all up. He doesn't give Rain what he wants and it left his wolf to get weaker day by day, "

"Where is Calvin? I'll talk to—"

"Affection is not something you can force out of a person, Keiran." Amelia stopped the alpha. "You can tell Calvin to be nice to the omega for him to heal but it won't work. His wolf can sense if it's fake or not, "

"Then what should we do? " Evelyn gripped her sweater.

"Don't worry, with proper care and rest he can heal himself. Not fast but slowly. He'll be fine, " The doctor smiled.

"I'm gonna go and talk to Calvin. You guys can go in and see Rain, "

"What are you talking about? " Calvin scoffed.

"I'm not joking, Calvin. Your presence and care might help him to feel better. He's already mentally exhausted. This injury will be hard for him without your support, "

"But why me? Why can't the nurses—"

"You know very well why it has to be you and you know why he's so weak too. So don't act dumb now, " Amelia said sternly, causing the beta to look down guilty.

Calvin sighed, frustrated as he raked a hand through his hair. "Fine, but only till he gets better, " He said through gritted teeth before walking inside.

Amelia heaved a sigh.

The beta was hard to deal with.

And he's more stubborn than Keiran.

"I'm going to take him to our room, " Calvin announced as soon as he entered the room.

He walked up to the omega while Evelyn and Keiran watched silently.

"Take care of him, Calvin. He needs you the most now, " Keiran said.

The beta only nodded before training his eyes on the unconscious omega.

"Did he wake up? "

"Not fully. He sometimes opened his eyes and mumbled something before going back to sleep, " Evelyn said.

"Hmm… " Calvin hummed as he picked up the omega. "Thank you for looking after him. I'll take him now, " He expressed his gratitude to the alpha and luna before walking towards the door.

The beta stopped halfway.

"Also, tell that guy outside to not worry too much. He looks like he's traumatized by all this, " He said before walking out of the room.

"Who is he talking about? " Keiran frowned.
