Chapter 57

"Keiran, I want to tell you something, " Evelyn grabbed her mate's hand before he tried to walk away.

"What? " Keiran turned towards the girl who was nervously looking down. He caressed the omega's cheeks. "What happened? Is there something bothering you? "

Evelyn shook her head. "That's not it… Umm… I've been h-hiding something from y-you, " She said while fumbling with the hem of her sleeves.

"What is it? " Keiran frowned.

Evelyn gulped. "Before we went to the Bluemoon Pack, I've been s-secretly training with J-Josh… That's how I learned self-defense, " The girl slowly looked up at the alpha's face. Keiran had a stoic expression. The omega couldn't figure out if he was mad or not.

"Remember when I beat up those perverts who tried to harass me? That's all because of the training. I-I hid this from you because you got angry every time you saw me with Josh… I was s-scared, " She looked down.

Keiran rubbed his temples before he sighed. "I'm sorry, Evelyn…I know I've treated you so wrong in the past that it made you want to hide things from me. I was a horrible partner and I regret that a lot. It should have been me who helped you… but I'm glad you were trained. Josh is a good person, " Keiran said with a faint smile forming on his lips.

"Whatever I said at that time was only out of jealousy… I didn't mean any of it. Please don't take it to your heart, " The alpha pulled his mate closer to his chest and placed a small kiss on her lips. "Let's go to the training area. I've so much to show you, "

Evelyn was dumbfounded. She thought Keiran would blow up as soon as he heard it but her mate was surprisingly understanding.

Looks like he has changed a lot.

"Luna, " Rain smiled as he walked towards the girl. "Scarlett let me come in here to see you train, "

"That's great. I needed someone to cheer me up, " Evelyn ruffled the boy's hair.

"Evelyn, "

The omega turned around when Niya called her name.

"I forgot to give you this earlier, " She said, extending a jade pendant towards the girl. "This is your mother's, " She smiled. "Her father gave this to her. She cherished it very dearly but I think this belongs to you now, "

Evelyn took the pendant with shaky hands. She smiled softly while caressing the carved locket. "It's beautiful, "

"Your mother's blessing will always be with you, " Niya patted the girl's head with a warm smile.

Evelyn sighed and looked around. "Why is everyone in their wolf form? "

"They are training their wolves. The wolves are our greatest weapon, " Keiran replied while looking at his warriors proudly.

The omega was fascinated by the view. The wolf form of the warriors was huge. No wonder they're so powerful.

"They're so huge, " She breathed out, surprising her mate.

Keiran froze and then huffed. "I'm bigger than them, " He mumbled under his breath.

Evelyn looked at her mate wide-eyed. She tried to hide the smile that formed on her lips.

Keiran was jealous.

"You never showed me your wolf form, " The girl shrugged. "So how can I know?"

The alpha raked a hand through his hair. "I can—I can show you now… if you want, "

"Really?! " Evelyn beamed.

"Yes, umm… let's go to the woods. The warriors are training here, " Keiran scratched the back of his neck. He was a little embarrassed by how everyone was watching him get jealous.

"Let's go, " The girl took her mate's hand and dragged him towards the woods.

Niya, Scarlett, and Rain followed the couple with a small smile.

"I'll change now, " Keiran said before he took off his coat and sweater. The alpha took a step back and then leaped forward, shifting mid-air with a growl.

Evelyn gasped as she stared at her mate who has now turned into a big black wolf.

Keiran slowly turned around. His eyes were glowing red as he stared at the omega.

Evelyn slowly walked up to the alpha. She looked at the wolf hovering over her with gleaming eyes. "You're so beautiful, " Evelyn spoke as if she's in a trance.

Keiran moved his head and softly rubbed it against the omega's head. Evelyn smiled wide and hugged her mate, threading her fingers through the alpha's soft fur.

"Evelyn, you can feel animals' minds, right? Can you feel Keiran's? " Niya asked, making the girl look up at her.

Evelyn looked at Keiran's eyes and softly caressed the alpha's sides.

"I can feel his emotions," The omega smiled. Her mate was happy and proud at the moment. "But I can't control him like I can control other animals, "

"Maybe it's because he's your mate, " Niya nodded.

"Alpha, you're here, "

Keiran turned around to see Josh and Calvin.

"You didn't come to the training so we were looking for you, " Josh said as he walked towards everyone.

"What are you doing here? " Calvin frowned, looking at Rain.

The boy flinched and hid behind Scarlett. "I-I came with Scarlett, "

"Leave him alone, Calvin. I brought him here, " Scarlett frowned, causing the beta to click his tongue.

"Boys, can you change into your wolf form for a minute if you don't mind? " Niya interfered, surprising the betas.

"It's for an experiment. I just want to see if Evelyn can control your minds when you are in your wolf form, "

The betas looked at Keiran who gestured for them to go on.

Josh smiled. "Sure, " He said before taking off his coat.

Calvin did the same and leaped forward, shifting into his wolf form.

Calvin's wolf was in shades of black and white Josh's was brown and white.

They were both beautiful.

"You guys look good, " Evelyn said as she looked at them with a wide smile.

The betas huffed in reply as if they were saying thank you.

"Can you feel their minds, Evelyn? "

Niya looked at the girl.

Evelyn took a deep breath. Her eyebrows furrowed as she focused. "I can feel something, " She nodded. "I can feel their moods and emotions, "

Josh was feeling happy because Evelyn was training but somewhere in his mind, he was also worried about Rain.

Calvin on the other hand wasn't feeling anything much but he seemed to be irritated about Rain being here. Evelyn couldn't figure out why the beta felt like that.

A smirk formed on the omega's lips. Both of their minds felt like a boat in the middle of the sea. She could steer it anywhere.
