Chapter 15
Chapter 15
"Can you throw the ninja blades?" Josh asked, showing the blades to the omega.
"Umm…I don't know, I'll try. Can you show me how it's thrown? "
"Of course!" The beta hurriedly got into position. His left leg stepped forward as he aimed with his right hand up in the air. In a quick wrist movement, the blade flew toward the target at a speed that was hard for the eyes to keep track of.
"Woah! So close to the yellow! " Rain clapped his hands again while Josh only sighed.
"I've been practicing for so long but I still can't get it right," The warrior sulked.
"It's OK Josh, you'll learn it someday," Scarlett patted his back to cheer him up. "It's not easy to throw knives and blades,"
"I know, only Alpha, Derek, and some other warriors can do it. The rest of us are still learning,"
"Who's Derek? " Evelyn questioned, her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Amelia's mate," Scarlett replied, making the omega nod her head as she remembered Amelia talking about her mate being a warrior.
"Here, Luna, try this," Josh extended the blade to Evelyn.
"How do you hold the blade? I didn't really see it when you did that before," Evelyn took the blade from his hand and carefully examined it. Holding it cautiously as its edges shone from how sharp they were.
"You hold it like this," Josh demonstrated, holding a star blade in his hand. "You have to form an 'L' with your fingers when you're holding it. Make sure none of its edges are close to your skin. Don't move your hand forward when throwing, just use your wrist."
Evelyn nodded in understanding before she mimicked the position and techniques the beta did when he threw before. The blade smoothly flew and pierced the first yellow circle.
"Oh, goddess, Luna, you're really good at this! " Josh shouted, making Evelyn blush.
"I-It's because I have practiced throwing stones since I was little," The omega scratched her ear.
"You're a ninja!" Rain shouted, causing Scarlett to chuckle.
"Wait, you need to try this," The beta said before hurriedly walking out of the room.
After a few seconds, he came back with a shotgun. Evelyn gasped and stared at the beta wide-eyed.
"No, no, I don't know how to use a gun," She refused, hastily shaking her head and waving her hand around to escape from the absurd idea of handling such a powerful weapon.
"You just have to point it and pull the trigger," Josh smiled. "Nothing more, Luna. It's already loaded,"
"Josh, I'm scared. I-I can't do this, " The omega gulped.
"Luna, you have a good aim. I know you can do this," No matter how many times she refused, the young warrior wasn't willing to back off. He wanted to see the girl discover her talents and he was ready to bother her till she gave in.
Evelyn looked at Scarlett in the hope that she'll help but the former Luna just smiled at the girl.
"I'm scared of gunshots," Rain whispered, his bottom lips gutted out.
"See? Rain is afraid of gunshots. We can do this la—"
"Oh, it's okay, Luna! I'll cover my ears, " The boy cut her off, both of his hands going to cover his ears.
Josh snickered as he saw the omega's shoulders slump in disappointment.
"Come on, try this, Luna. It's not that hard," The warrior gave the gun to the girl.
"It's heavier than I thought," She said, examining the gun.
"It's because it's made of metal,"Josh explained, walking towards the shooting section. "See the red dot in the middle? That's where you have to shoot," He pointed to the aim. "Hold your hand straight and focus on the aim. Make sure your gun is pointed at the correct place. Just pull the trigger and don't jerk it," The beta explained to Evelyn who nodded in reply.
She took a deep breath and looked at Scarlett who gave her an encouraging smile. Rain gave her a thumbs-up before hurriedly covering his ears again.
The omega focused on the target, holding her breath. She blinked a few times to clear her vision. The gun pointed towards the aim as the girl closed her left eye to make sure she was seeing correctly before she pulled the trigger.
A loud boom echoed in the large room making Rain jump with a squeal. Evelyn lightly panted as she looked at the aim. The bullet had hit the red spot.
"This is unbelievable," Josh said, staring at the aim. "It's your first time shooting and you hit the aim…Luna, I think your talent is in aiming," He smiled at the omega who stared at him confused. "Do you know how to fight? " He asked suddenly.
Evelyn scratched her neck. "I don't, " She replied shamefully, remembering how her mate ridiculed her for it.
"Do you want to learn?" Evelyn was gaping when Josh asked her the question.
"Are you going to teach me?"
"Only if you want to, "
"Wonderful idea," Scarlett chirped in, glad that the omega was finally getting the chance to learn new things.
"Umm… let's check how much you know, " Josh said, taking a knife from the box.
"What do you mean check? I don't know anything," Evelyn stepped back when she saw the beta pick up the knife.
"Relax, Luna. I'm not going to do anything. You just have to take this knife from me. You can do anything to get it, " He said as he chuckled, showing the knife to the omega.
"Umm… okay," The omega looked at the beta skeptically before jumping to grab the knife but Josh was faster than she thought. The beta moved quickly, stepping back and holding the knife out of reach from the omega.
"Hey, that's cheating! I'm not that tall!" She shouted, making the omega chuckle.
Scarlett and Rain watched the situation, amused. They both looked at each other and let out a chuckle, seeing the omega and beta fight.
Evelyn jumped and hung onto the beta's hand which held the knife but there was no result. Josh kept the knife out of reach.
The omega grinned when she got an idea. She made the beta spin by pulling on his hand and then tried to make him fall using her feet. But the warrior's senses were so quick, he immediately jumped, causing Evelyn to fall instead. She squealed and grabbed onto the next thing closer to her which happened to be the beta's shirt that made him fall on top of her.
Scarlett and Rain laughed, clutching their stomachs, looking at the two on the ground.
"You're really bad at this, Luna." Josh sighed, causing Evelyn to let out a whine. The beta tried to sit up, lifting his weight off the girl as he gripped the kunai knife carefully so as not to hurt the omega.
And just as the beta was trying to sit up, the door opened quickly. A strong scent of cinnamon and honey wafted into the room, causing everyone to be still.
Evelyn gasped and in a split second her eyes flew towards the source of the scent. Dread filled her mind when she saw Keiran there, glaring at them with his blood-red eyes and jaw clenched tightly as he took in the scene in front of him. "Meet me at my study in five minutes, Evelyn." He breathed out, his voice dangerously deep and serious which made the omega shudder.
The alpha threw a heated glare towards the warrior beta and his mate before he turned around and slammed the door behind him as he strode out of the room.
