The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 818: Blushing with a Burning Face

Chapter 818: Blushing with a Burning Face

Lincoln Hoffman arrived swiftly.

He had made a phone call to Caryn Zachmann on the way, and in less than ten minutes, he had rushed to the Zachmann’s residence.

Upon entering, he made a beeline for Mr. Zachmann, his expression fraught with anxiety, unable to conceal his haggard exhaustion. He briskly walked over, "Mr. Zachmann, you must help me this time."

His arrival was so abrupt, and since Caryn Zachmann hadn’t mentioned to Ericko Zachmann and Leonardy Zachmann about Lincoln Hoffman’s visit, both were startled to see him suddenly appear in their home, a look of astonishment crossing their faces.

Leonardy Zachmann discreetly stood up, shook hands with him, and greeted, "Lincoln, what brings you here? You should have told me you were coming."

"I came on short notice. I called Ms. Zachmann before I came." After finishing his sentence, Lincoln Hoffman looked up urgently at the elderly man seated in the wheelchair and implored, "I had no choice but to come to you, Mr. Zachmann, this time I can only ask for your help."

Ericko Zachmann, upon suddenly seeing him, shared the same reaction as Leonardy Zachmann. Surprised by his presence and urgent tone, Ericko subconsciously furrowed his brows and calmly said, "Please, sit down."

Then he instructed Leonardy Zachmann, "Leonardy, have tea prepared for Lincoln."

"Sure." Hearing the instruction, Leonardy Zachmann immediately went to ask a servant to steep the tea.

After giving the order to his son, Ericko Zachmann leisurely raised his hand again, courteously addressing the guest, "Please take a seat."

Celine Tucker and Caryn Zachmann watched as Lincoln Hoffman hastily burst in, making a direct appeal to Mr. Zachmann. They exchanged glances, seeing puzzlement in each other’s eyes.

What was Lincoln Hoffman doing here after Phoebe Hoffman had been expelled from The Ninth Institute?

Phoebe Hoffman might have been expelled, with her future prospects grim, yet with her own capabilities and backed by the Hoffman Family, did Lincoln Hoffman really need to lower himself so much...

Such extreme humility!

"Please sit."

"..." Lincoln Hoffman looked at the chair moved in front of him, restlessly took his seat, barely touching it before he leaned forward again, anxiously, "Mr. Zachmann, only you can help me with this matter."

Mr. Zachmann had weathered many storms throughout his life and, although semi-retired, was not an easy man to fool. Without missing a beat, he simply lifted the teacup beside him, and leisurely said, "You keep asking for my help, but you must tell me what the matter is so I can see if I can be of any assistance, otherwise what use could a retired old man like me be to you?"

He played this deflection with the finesse of a tai chi master, skilfully tossing the issue back to Lincoln Hoffman.

Lincoln Hoffman knew well that he could not easily pull the wool over the eyes of the man before him, and the situation was entirely their family’s fault, yet reluctantly and under the old man’s steely gaze, he bowed his head and struggled to say, "It’s our fault for spoiling Phoebe Hoffman too much, leading to her recklessness and impulsive actions. She didn’t discuss her actions with us..."

He had barely started his explanation when the gentle smile at the corner of Mr. Zachmann’s mouth visibly tightened.

Following that, in front of everyone present, Lincoln Hoffman recounted the entire mess Phoebe had caused, and by the end, his own face was flushed with embarrassment, so flustered he couldn’t muster the strength to lift his head, not daring to look anyone in the eye, he murmured his apology, "Mr. Zachmann, I have only just found out that Miss Qiao is your granddaughter. We were wrong in this matter, and I apologize on behalf of Phoebe to you and your granddaughter. If you could please have Miss Qiao speak to the police so that they don’t take it too hard on Phoebe. I will definitely discipline Phoebe properly when I return home, and we will cover all of Miss Qiao’s medical expenses—and this..."
