The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 809: The Blood on the Clothes Isn’t Hers

Chapter 809: The Blood on the Clothes Isn’t Hers

The female police officer furrowed her brow, her gaze complex as she looked at the girl sitting there who seemed unremarkable, then paused on her exceptionally delicate face and said, "The first thing you should have done was make a phone call to the police, not start fighting them bare-handed."

A girl surrounded and beaten by a few hooligans, who eventually ended up lying on the ground groaning in pain... They had only seen such scenes in cop shows, not in real life!

The officer truly couldn’t figure out how such a frail girl had managed it.

"I didn’t have enough time," Nathalie Quinlan said in a rather pleasant manner, her dark eyes meeting the officer’s; somewhat casual, yet not uncooperative, giving her face, "I’ll try to next time."

I’ll try to next time!

Officer: ...

She wasn’t being ignored, so why did she feel like she couldn’t continue the conversation? Was it an illusion???

"I understand that the situation was dangerous at that moment, and you might not have had time to call the police, but since the other party had weapons and you were alone, if you couldn’t call for help, you could have asked the onlookers for help. There were so many people at the hospital entrance, it would have been better than fighting several people alone..." the officer said, which seemed quite sensible.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t make a sound or argue, only lowering her eyes which showed little emotion, cold yet irritated.

At that moment.

Walking diagonally from the front, Simon Cadwell called her name, "Ms. Quinlan!"

Nathalie Quinlan looked up, and before she noticed, a hand suddenly grabbed her arm, pulling her up and thoroughly checking her over with a tone that couldn’t suppress its cold fierceness, "Where are you hurt? Does anywhere hurt?"

The man carried a faint scent of mint wrapped with the smell of cigarette, but the tobacco scent was very mild, evidencing his rare smoking.

Amadeus Yancey had arrived.

Nathalie Quinlan still carried an authoritative air, though it was clearly not as cold as before: "No, I’m not hurt."

"..." Audrick Zachmann had also arrived; he had wanted to rush over immediately but got pushed to the side, even Alfred Garland had managed to squeeze in front of him, leaving him quite frustrated. However, concern trumped everything; he was aware of the situation and didn’t make a fuss as usual.

Amadeus Yancey then pinched her left wrist again, his gaze darkened and his voice raspy, "If you’re not hurt, why is there blood on your clothes?"

Nathalie Quinlan looked down and then noticed several blood stains on her black hoodie. Because her clothes were black, the blood wasn’t obvious, and one wouldn’t notice without looking closely.

Lifting her eyelids which were thin, with strikingly black pupils, she pulled on the hoodie’s rim and said with a faint tone in front of several people, "Oh, that. It’s from the people I fought with. I might not have noticed and accidentally got it on me."

Amadeus Yancey examined her thoroughly again to ensure Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t hurt before he squinted lazily and asked Simon Cadwell, "Mr. Cadwell, where are those people?"

Simon Cadwell had been promoted recently and became quite an important figure in McKinney; the officer hadn’t seen anyone talk to the Chief like that.

Her heart tightened subconsciously as she glanced over at Amadeus Yancey and his group.

The man bore an extraordinary demeanor, one almost didn’t need to ask to know he wasn’t someone without a background.

Turning to the side, she saw Alfred Garland and when her eyes met Audrick Zachmann’s, her temples throbbed twice, and she gripped her notebook tightly.

Audrick Zachmann!

Could it be that big star?

She looked again at Nathalie Quinlan, her gaze shifting; she originally thought this was just an ordinary public disturbance by high school students, but now it seemed the situation wasn’t as simple as it appeared, the waters ran much deeper...
