Nathalie Quinlan leant back in her chair, and her previously tense back relaxed in the warm atmosphere, "I’m fine with anything."

The girl had been talking to her nonstop, first taking out a packet of cookies from her bag to offer her, then pulling out a piece of candy to place in her hand, adorably well-behaved.

Nathalie Quinlan accepted each one, showing remarkable patience, her mouth unconsciously curving into a smile. She put the candy and cookies Edric Yancey had given her safely aside, then lifted her gaze, her dark eyes looking at Candice Yancey.

"This is enough," she said, then, worried she might have been too casual, added politely, "Mrs. Yancey, Grandpa Yancey, these are enough for me."

Looking around the table, except for a few mild Santhoma dishes and pigeon soup in front of Mr. Yancey, many dishes were fiery red, topped with a layer of chili oil, evidently all her favored spicy dishes.

Nathalie loved spicy food, almost to the point of not enjoying a meal without it, but she wasn’t picky; she could eat almost anything.

Before coming, she had prepared herself to join Mr. Yancey and Candice for some mild fare, but to her surprise, they had ordered a whole table of spicy dishes for her.
