Chapter 752: Nathalie: My Guess_1
Chapter 752: Nathalie: My Guess_1
As the number of acupuncture sessions increased, Master Cadmus’ migraine symptoms were not as severe as they were at the start. After helping with a course of acupuncture treatments, combined with the effect of the small pills, Master Cadmus was basically able to enter light sleep at night. However, the duration of true sleep was only about 4 to 5 hours a night.
Although it didn’t seem like a long time, for Master Cadmus, who had long relied on sleeping pills to fall asleep, this was a very significant improvement.
Today was the last acupuncture session, and Nathalie Quinlan got up early in the morning. She began to write prescriptions as soon as she was up, and there were many crumpled pieces of paper she had discarded on the floor.
As soon as Alfred Garland walked in, he saw her sitting in the chair, biting her pen and pondering. He approached her with a sense of urgency, stopping beside the girl.
Nathalie had only written down a few medicinal ingredients and was still contemplating the dosage when she saw him out of the corner of her eye. She thought he had come to find her regarding Master Cadmus’ acupuncture, so she casually leaned back in her chair and twirled the pen in her beautiful hand, indifferently narrowing her eyes and saying, "Wait a bit longer, I’m still writing the prescription."
Alfred Garland watched her relaxed demeanor and moved his lips, uncertain how to begin. In a deep voice, he said, "No, Miss Quinlan, I’m not here to rush you on Master Cadmus’ behalf."
Nathalie heard the urgency that he was trying to suppress in his voice, put down her water-based pen, turned her head to look at him, and with her beautiful and cunning black pupils, she inquired, "Hmm? You need me for something?"
She was so clever, seeing right through that he had come to her with an issue, which made Alfred Garland even more hesitant to speak. But given the urgency of the situation, he couldn’t afford to be fussy and he lowered his voice to say, "Miss Quinlan, there’s been an incident."
"Is it about the open visitation day?" Nathalie’s voice was quite hoarse as she half-closed her dark eyes and asked unhurriedly.
She remembered that today was supposed to be The Ninth Institute’s open visitation day. Amadeus Yancey and Brian Bonette had gone to receive guests, and it seemed that many people from overseas would be coming.
If Alfred Garland was seeking her out at this time, and it wasn’t for Master Cadmus, it had to be regarding the open visitation day.
Alfred Garland was taken aback for a moment, as if it hadn’t dawned on him yet. With a blank expression, he stared dumbfounded, his eyes full of astonishment, "Miss Quinlan, how do you know it’s about the open visitation day? I haven’t mentioned it yet..."
"I guessed."
Nathalie figured she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on writing the prescription and decisively capped her water-based pen and put it back in the pen holder. She crossed her arms in a boss-like pose before finally turning to face him and asking, "Alright, what happened?"
Alfred Garland had never seen someone so astute before, his mouth hanging open, his jaw nearly dropping.
It took him several seconds to come to his senses, and then his face was once again covered with an anxious expression as he hurriedly began, "It’s the USB flash drive, the programming on the USB drive you gave to Mr. Radcliff has a problem..."
"Impossible," was Nathalie’s immediate response, her eyes narrowing.
Seeing that Alfred Garland didn’t say anything, she slowly articulated her explanation, "I checked the programming on the USB drive. There were no issues."
She generally didn’t check her programming, but this time was an exception. After all, she was doing someone a favor and had specifically reviewed it after finishing the coding.
She believed Alfred Garland about other things, but the programming couldn’t be faulty.
"It’s true, Miss Quinlan." Alfred Garland of course believed her, but since the situation was urgent, he could only summarize what had happened on Wallace Radcliff’s end, "Something’s wrong with the USB flash drive you gave to Wallace Radcliff. The program runs halfway then suddenly freezes and garbled characters appear. Mr. Radcliff and team members from Group One have tried many times, but it always results in garbled text halfway through the run..."
