The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 715: Nathalie is Still Nathalie_1

Chapter 715: Nathalie is Still Nathalie_1

Phoebe Hoffman arrogantly lifted her chin, completely unreceptive to his good intentions, "Just want to take a look. Ms. Quinlan said she solved the programming challenge, and I want to see how she did it and learn something."

"After all... there’s always someone better out there, right?"

The words might have been nice, but coming from her mouth, they were laden with sarcasm.

Wallace Radcliff had no desire to keep talking to her and stretched out his hand, saying, "Alright, if you want to see for yourself, give me the laptop, and I’ll pull up the files."

Phoebe handed him the laptop.

They were in the car, and she wasn’t worried that Wallace would fiddle with anything to help Nathalie out of kindness.

Wallace took the laptop from her, in front of several pairs of eyes, and started it up first.

The Ninth Institute’s computers boot up very fast; even though this laptop was just casually left in the car and wasn’t the kind regularly used, when taken out, its specs were still top-of-the-line and unavailable on the market.

The computer booted up smoothly in no time.

Before Wallace plugged in the USB flash drive, he raised his head one last time, scanning over the people in the car, and said, "Just now, Mr. Bonette asked who was willing to show Ms. Quinlan around these next few days, and each and every one of you was unwilling, giving the excuse of being too busy. I won’t waste words on you. Whether Nathalie has the skills to cure Master Cadmus’s migraines or not I can’t say, but I do respect her! You’ll realize soon enough what kind of opportunities you’ve missed..."

The first place in Tsinghua University’s Joint Entrance Exam isn’t something just anyone can achieve, is it?

He didn’t know Nathalie well, but seeing Alfred Garland, someone from Amadeus’s circle, hold Nathalie in such high esteem, he knew she had to have real talent.

The respect from Alfred wasn’t due to giving ’face’ to Amadeus for Ms. Quinlan; it was genuine respect and admiration.

Even reverence!

When a man shows genuine respect for a girl younger than himself, Wallace was convinced that the girl must possess extraordinary qualities that set her apart.

Listening to him speak like this, the people from The Ninth Institute looked at each other uneasily, none of them speaking up.

In their hearts, though, they were more inclined to support Phoebe’s skepticism.

They simply didn’t truly believe Nathalie had any real talent.

"Mr. Radcliff, there’s no need for so many words, just pull up the programming. The truth will prove everything! If she really solved the problem that’s been troubling our second group for three months, I’ll apologize to her for my previous attitude without you having to say anything. And if she’s just putting on an act with that USB drive, well..."

She didn’t finish her sentence, but what she intended to say was clear to everyone.

Wallace gave her a deep look, her stubbornness reminding him of his own previous boast that if Nathalie succeeded, he’d eat the laptop right in front of him – exactly the same type of statement!

Not wanting to say more, he simply stated, "Alright, you said it yourself. If Ms. Quinlan really solves the programming issue, you will apologize to her."

"Let her solve it first!" Phoebe’s face was full of pride, brimming with confidence.

Wallace stopped looking at her, turned his attention to the laptop, pulled up the computer’s archive, and clicked to open it.

Everyone gathered around, staring intently at the laptop screen.

The screen went black, unresponsive for several seconds as though it had crashed.

A look of superiority appeared on Phoebe’s face, as if she had expected this all along, with the corners of her mouth already curling into a smirk...

Just then, the black screen began to load a program, codes popped up in a sequence, followed by a verification system.

Someone, surprised, blurted out, "Damn! Iris recognition?!"
