Chapter 709: Have You Forgotten Something_1
Besides Alfred Garland, there was only one person next to him, a girl with her head down, making a phone call with one hand in her pocket.
Her hat covered her delicate brows and eyes, revealing only her sharp, cold chin. She looked very cool.
However, considering her stature and age, the girl didn’t seem very old, probably only 18 or 19...
Is this Ms. Quinlan?
The doctor Amadeus brought in for Master Cadmus’s consultation?
Really just a high school student?
The people from The Ninth Institute were stunned, exchanging surprised and bewildered looks, their faces not exactly pleasant.
Only Phoebe Hoffman crossed her arms and a cold light flickered in her eyes, "Hmph, what an act!"
Her voice wasn’t too loud nor too soft, but loud enough for everyone to hear.
As a reflex, Wallace Radcliff frowned and glanced in her direction as if to remind her not to act like this when Nathalie Quinlan arrived.
But it was too late; Nathalie Quinlan had already come over.
"Mr. Bonette, Mr. Radcliff..." Alfred Garland was more familiar with the people from The Ninth Institute and greeted each one in turn. When it came to Phoebe Hoffman, he pretended not to see her and skipped over to Mario Cagwin beside her, "Long time no see."
"Haha, long time no see."
"You finally decided to come back!"
The people from The Ninth Institute had a good relationship with him, surrounding him, playfully pushing him and slinging their arms around his shoulders.
After greeting most of the people, Alfred Garland didn’t forget his mission. He pulled away the hand of the person slinging their arm over his shoulders and turned to introduce someone.
"Oh right, let me introduce someone to you all."
He pointed at the girl who had just walked over, his attitude affectionate, "This is Ms. Quinlan. I’m mainly here to accompany Ms. Quinlan to see Master Cadmus."
The people from The Ninth Institute initially joked with him, but when they saw Nathalie, their expressions turned unnatural once again.
Though they all greeted Nathalie, it was more out of courtesy, and their eyes held little real welcome or joy.
Master Cadmus was too important to The Ninth Institute!
Even if the girl in front of them was brought by Amadeus, truth be told, her youth surpassed their limits of acceptance.
This girl just didn’t look like someone knowledgeable in medical arts.
Even Mario Cagwin, who initially had expectations for Nathalie, couldn’t hide his skepticism; could Mr. Hoffman have been right, and Amadeus got deceived?
Nathalie hadn’t hung up the phone yet but felt the doubtful gazes from everyone after Alfred had introduced her.
She didn’t feel anything special, simply adjusted her cap and looked up with dark eyes, introducing herself simply, "Nathalie Quinlan. Hello, everyone."
Her introduction was too simple, and the several people from The Ninth Institute were stunned for a moment. Was she that cool?
It was only Phoebe Hoffman who sneered at this moment and suddenly spoke up, "Didn’t Ms. Quinlan forget something?"
Her sudden remark made everyone look at her.
Wallace Radcliff seemed to guess what she meant and whispered to stop her, "Mr. Hoffman!"
Amadeus had just punished her, and here she was again!
Phoebe Hoffman carried an arrogant air, as if she hadn’t heard him, and said lightly, "I remember Ms. Quinlan mentioning that the problem of autonomous driving programming could be solved in one day, but three days have passed. Has Ms. Quinlan not cracked it yet?"
Originally, the welcome at the airport had been jovial. Even though others felt somewhat uncomfortable in their hearts upon seeing Nathalie’s young appearance, no one had shown this skepticism or unwelcome on their faces.
