Chapter 577: Nathalie the Social Menace, Fierce and Unbridled_1

He wanted to ask what was going on with these teachers and parents, and what the parent who had just been aggressive was demanding.

He truly didn’t know anything.

But Ghania Quinlan, standing obediently behind him, was all too aware of the current situation. Her face turned pale, she bit her lip, lowered her head, and tried her best to reduce her presence.

Her heartbeat, however, kept accelerating, as if it was about to burst out of her throat.

It seemed that Wenny Taylor had succeeded in escalating the issue of Nathalie Quinlan hitting someone, and had cleverly brought parents into the fray... The school, just as she had expected, dared not openly cover for Nathalie. Now was the time to act.

Ghania pinched the palm of her hand, her eyes shimmering. She felt both elated and uneasy, unsure what Nathalie wanted by calling her over at this time.

Myles Sullivan’s attitude towards Nathalie was also a source of her unease.

Nathalie had hit Jecksen Wilmar and was trying to use connections to smooth things over. Even if her uncle couldn’t hold Nathalie accountable due to past affections, his attitude toward the situation didn’t seem right. It was as if he was wary of Nathalie!

Having spent a month in Beijing, she was well aware of the Sullivan Family’s status there; she also knew her uncle’s capabilities. There were multitude who visited the Sullivan’s daily, many of whom could be featured in the news.

No matter how talented Nathalie was, getting good grades and being accepted to Tsinghua University were her only claims to fame. She had biological parents supporting her, and the family’s conditions were decent... but even all of that combined couldn’t compare to the Sullivans. She couldn’t understand why Myles Sullivan was so courteous to Nathalie.

Nathalie saw the girl who had been hiding behind Myles Sullivan so nervous that her fists were slightly clenched.

The corners of his lips curved in a mocking, wicked smile, hands in his pockets as he looked up with a piercing gaze and asked the inquiring Myles Sullivan in a hoarse, blood-filled voice, "It’s nothing, Ghania Quinlan told my classmates that I caused someone a disability outside school, and now people are coming to the school asking me for an explanation, wanting to make it public."

"..."

Ghania Quinlan suddenly lifted her head, her almond eyes abruptly widened, seemingly unable to believe she could speak so directly in front of so many people!

Directly accusing her of instructing Wenny Taylor!

Wasn’t she afraid she would deny it?!

But Nathalie returned her look with a faint indifference in his eyes, a look of cold detachment and composure that seemed truly fearless.

"You said you outside the school...," Myles Sullivan initially doubted he had heard correctly, unconsciously repeating Nathalie’s words. Halfway through, his brow twitched, and he turned his head to look at Ghania hiding behind him, his voice tinged with suppressed anger though not particularly kind, "Ghania, what exactly is going on here!"

Ghania Quinlan hadn’t expected him to question her first instead of Nathalie. The look in his eyes was somewhat flustered and infuriated. Startled, she lifted her head, her face turning pallid as she opened her mouth to first shake her head in denial, "I, I didn’t."

After her denial, she gathered her thoughts and looked at the man with a plea of grievance, pleading, "Uncle, you know I was in my room all day practicing piano with Mrs. Wilmar, I didn’t even come to school, so how could I possibly trouble her..."

This, indeed, was the truth.

Myles Sullivan’s gaze slightly hardened, the look of annoyance on his face somewhat easing. Turning his head back to Nathalie, he said softly, "Nathalie, could you be mistaken? I was at the Quinlan family, too. She isn’t lying; she really did spend the whole day practicing piano with your Mrs. Wilmar and likely had no time for her phone."

Nathalie didn’t beat around the bush either, her eyes sharp and fervent as she counter-questioned him, "Then how did Wenny Taylor learn about Jecksen Wilmar’s situation?"
