Chapter 568: Did You Post on the School Forum?_1
Wenny Taylor’s heart was racing as she kept her thoughts scattered.
Seeing her come in, Mr. Jones, sitting behind the desk, covered his mouth with his hand and softly coughed. In a warm voice, he said, "Ah, Student Wenny Taylor is here."
Wenny Taylor didn’t dare to make eye contact, lowered her head, and politely greeted, "Good morning, Principal."
"Good morning." Mr. Jones was just over forty years old, with a gentle voice. He didn’t seem to blame her but instead encouraged her not to be nervous, "Student Wenny Taylor, you don’t need to be nervous. I had Mr. Ullmer call you to my office because there’s something I want to ask you."
Wenny Taylor let out a slight breath of relief, the heart that had been racing calmed down a bit. She tensely lifted her head, looking towards the man sitting in the swivel chair, her voice very quiet and small, "Principal, your question...?"
She knew why Mr. Jones had called her over. It definitely had something to do with the post she had made on the forum the night before; she had long since prepared herself mentally.
Mr. Jones saw her ’resigned to fate’ demeanor, retracted his initial warmth, and gradually put on a serious expression. His hands were folded on the desk as he watched the girl standing in the center of the office and asked her, "Did you post that message on the school forum?"
Unexpectedly, Wenny Taylor showed not a hint of backing down. She lifted her head, her back straight, and nodded, "Yes, I posted it. I reported Nathalie Quinlan, a student in our class, for breaking the school rules under my real name..."
The teachers in the principal’s office were all stunned.
From the moment she entered, she had the appearance of being weak and timid. No one expected her to be the kind who would report a classmate on the school forum in the dead of night; but now, seeing her openly admit to her actions, several homeroom teachers were taken aback.
Nancy Sullivan furrowed her brows, watching her, impatiently saying, "Why did you post that sort of message on the school forum? If you had any issues, you could have come to me first..."
Before she could finish, Wenny Taylor, with her hands tightly clasped, turned her head to look at her, bit her lip defiantly, and retorted, "If I had told Mr. Sullivan, would Mr. Sullivan have punished Nathalie Quinlan?"
"..." Nancy Sullivan’s brows furrowed tighter, not understanding her point. It sounded as if she was always protecting someone, but as a qualified teacher, even if she was somewhat emotional, Nancy Sullivan still methodically told her, "I would first investigate the matter thoroughly, call Nathalie Quinlan to ask if this incident occurred, and then report it to the school’s administrative department, waiting for the school to make a decision."
Wenny Taylor didn’t believe her words at all. Her eyes behind the glasses were cold. Hands tightly clasped, feet together, she pressed further, "And if Nathalie Quinlan denies it, would Mr. Sullivan protect her?"
"I don’t know what you mean by that question. Are you suggesting that I should assume Nathalie Quinlan has violated school rules, regardless of her admission, in order not to protect her?"
Nancy Sullivan remained calm, with a sharp and serious gaze.
"You are classmates. I believe I have never favored anyone before. When facing problems, we should discuss them based on facts, not bring personal emotions into it."
Wenny Taylor bit her lip, a look of grievous defiance on her face as she remained silent.
"I’m not saying you can’t report someone who has broken the school rules, I’m just saying there are better ways to handle this, and you shouldn’t have used the method of reporting on the school forum, calling out a classmate by name. What if you are wrong about this, and Nathalie Quinlan hasn’t left someone disabled as you claimed, how will you then rectify the situation?"
