Chapter 521: How Calm One After Another_1

Chapter 521: How Calm One After Another_1

"How is it?" Amadeus Yancey had specifically sought out the chef from Imperial Hotel to learn this dish, and he always had an extraordinary learning talent; he’d never doubted his own standards before, but now he seemed a bit concerned.

Nathalie Quinlan gave him a thumbs-up without stinting on her praise, "Delicious!"

"Is it that good?" Audrick Zachmann, enticed by what he heard, also picked up a pair of chopsticks to try the flavor. Although it immediately made his cheeks turn red with spiciness, he didn’t hesitate to praise, "Amadeus, not bad at all, when did you acquire this skill?"

He took another piece, smacking his lips and muttered, "Amadeus, have you really not considered switching careers to be a chef? With your cooking skills, I think you could make money."

Amadeus Yancey couldn’t be bothered with him, and pulled out the chair opposite Nathalie to sit down, calmly serving the girl who was eagerly eating a bowl of soup and passing it to her.

With deep-set eyes and pitch-black pupils, he asked, "What’s your plan for the afternoon?"

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t like to be distracted while eating, but one has to be soft-handed when accepting help, and couldn’t be ungrateful, so she sparingly raised her eyes and replied amid her busy chewing, "I should probably stop by the school."

Since Freddy Cagwin had been released on bail, the Wilmar Family’s accounts could be settled slowly.

She needed to go to school to cancel her leave.

Logically, she could only take three days off, but Nancy Sullivan went against school regulations and approved a week for her. Now that Nathalie was back, she certainly had to go to Sullivan to report back, otherwise it would be counted as skipping class and could affect the entire class’s attendance record.

Thinking about this, Nathalie felt like she had been worrying about too many things lately.

In the past, she never cared about stuff like collective honor of the class; she always did things on her own and hardly mingled with her classmates.

Of course, not many people took the initiative to hang out with her, either.

Most in the class treated her as a weirdo, usually avoiding her as much as possible, with no one brave enough to approach her for friendship.

But the people from Class A were different...

She recalled Justin Wafford who had gone out of his way to come to Beijing to "comfort" her, and Jhovany Sullivan, Clerent Miller, and others who kept sending her messages of encouragement, as well as the bottle full of origami cranes Justin had brought her. She felt warmth in her heart, her hand holding the chopsticks paused, and she looked up to say, "I haven’t seen them in a while, so I might as well invite them to have dinner nearby. I won’t be home for dinner."

Amadeus Yancey had always encouraged her to socialize more with friends. He leaned casually against the back of his chair, with no objections.

"After dinner, let Alfred Garland pick you up. You don’t like to hail a taxi."

Nathalie Quinlan poked at her rice with her chopsticks, still considering whether or not to visit Aunt Cagwin and the others in the hospital after dinner, when she heard him. With lazy half-closed eyes, she replied noncommittally, "Ah, we’ll see."

She paused, then added, "I’ll let you know at that time; if I don’t want to take a taxi, I’ll send a message."

"Alright."

The meal was enjoyed by all.

Anyway, Nathalie was full. She had also reluctantly drunk a bowl of soup at someone’s insistence. After eating her fill, she checked the time.

It was nearly half-past three in the afternoon.

No. 1 Middle School had already started classes.

At this time, she could probably only make it for the last class.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t want to delay any further, pulled out her chair, stood up, and told everyone in the room, "I’ll head to school first then."

With that, she went upstairs to grab her things.

It wasn’t until after she had left that Audrick Zachmann realized he might have forgotten something important—he seemed to have forgotten to ask Nathalie Quinlan how she planned to deal with the Jecksen Wilmar situation!!!!

The issue with Jecksen Wilmar wasn’t resolved yet.

Why were both Amadeus and Nathalie so composed about it?

It seemed like he was the only one fretting in the entire house! So frustrating!!
