Chapter 462: Unseen Chat Software_1
Chapter 462: Unseen Chat Software_1
Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t in McKinney, but she could guess the helplessness that Aunt Cagwin felt at that moment. She pursed her lips and said in a deep voice, "Don’t worry. I’m not in McKinney now, but I can go back immediately. As for Freddy, I’ll have someone look for him. Just wait for me to return before doing anything."
"...You’re outside?" Aunt Cagwin didn’t know about her trip to Beijing for the exam and had thought she was in McKinney when she made the phone call. Upon hearing that she wasn’t there, Aunt Cagwin quickly said, "Never mind, you go about your business, that damn kid is definitely out playing somewhere; I’ll go look for him myself at the places he usually goes to."
Nathalie didn’t say much, just responded with an "Mhm" and told her to be careful, then hung up the phone.
Justin Wafford had been next to her all this time; he hadn’t heard what Aunt Cagwin had said, but he could largely infer who the call was from, based on what Nathalie said.
"Was that Freddy’s mother?"
"Yes." Nathalie’s eyelids drooped, the corners of her eyes showing a mixture of wildness and coolness.
Justin Wafford frowned and asked her with concern, "Did Freddy really disappear?"
A big living person and a boy at that, where could he have gone?
Nathalie remained silent, silently pulling up Silvania Ingram’s number on her phone and making an international call.
The phone call was answered immediately.
She didn’t beat around the bush, getting straight to the point, "Mrs. Ingram, you know a lot of people in McKinney; I need help finding someone. A boy, about my age, named Freddy. I’ll send you his photo."
After making the call, she sent Freddy’s photo to Silvania Ingram.
Then she opened the Red Alliance app and tossed Freddy’s mobile number into the group.
[sun: Can someone track the location for this number for me? I’m outside and don’t have my computer with me.]
@ilovebeingskinny was the first to reply to the message.
[@ilovebeingskinny: Protruding. Another McKinney number, boss, don’t tell me you’re really in McKinney?]
[@playfuldiana: Bro, what you don’t know won’t hurt you, you might live a little longer.]
[@ilovebeingskinny: o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o I’m innocent!]
[@playfuldiana: Simple-mindedness is obvious, pure? Sorry, I’m blind, I just couldn’t see it.]
Nathalie watched the messages in the group, her brows knitting together in irritation, and then sent another message.
[sun: Stop messing around! Please check for me.]
The group fell silent, and after a short while, @ilovebeingskinny sent her a location tracked from the phone.
[@ilovebeingskinny: The phone was last located here, and since then, there’s been no movement. Either he’s been there the whole time, or somebody stole his phone. Anyhow, the location hasn’t changed.]
Nathalie received the location he sent, opened it, and zoomed in on the map.
She was somewhat surprised when she saw the marked place and furrowed her brows.
Sky Bar.
Justin Wafford craned his neck to look and saw the location as well, speaking out, "Sky Bar? That place is chaotic; all sorts of people go there. Why would Freddy go there to hang out?"
Such a mixed and unsafe place is not suitable for students.
Besides noticing the address on Nathalie’s phone, Justin also noticed the distinctive chat app she was using and curiously asked, "By the way, Nathalie, what chat app is that you’re using? I’ve never seen it before. ’S,’ is this a new chat app?"
Usually, everyone used WhatsApp for contact, or if not, they’d bypass internet restrictions to use Facebook, or if all else failed, use Instagram. Justin had truly never seen that red chat app on Nathalie’s phone before and hadn’t noticed anyone around him using it either.
But he saw how familiar Nathalie was with logging into the account, which indicated that she had been using that app for more than just a day or two. Taking out his phone, he said to Nathalie, "I’ll download it too."
Nathalie forwarded the information @ilovebeingskinny had found to Silvania Ingram, asking her to have people focus on searching that location.
After sending the message, she looked up to reply to Justin Wafford, "You can’t download it; it’s an overseas app, and your phone doesn’t have the plugin."
