Chapter 447: A Friend is Coming to Beijing_1

Amadeus Yancey’s face flickered with a hint of annoyance, regretting that he shouldn’t have listened to Sadam Vinson and tried to attract her attention like a naive young man by changing his appearance.

But he quickly suppressed that emotion beneath his deep, unfathomable eyes and changed the topic, "Got any plans for lunch? If not, my aunt wants to have a meal with you."

"Lunch?" Nathalie Quinlan thought for a moment and then looked up, "No plans. Where will we eat?"

"Imperial Hotel?"

Amadeus Yancey rested his hand on the car window, with his shirt collar slightly open, his tall frame and casually bent long legs rather eye-catching, exuding a powerful presence. As he looked up, his deep eyes fixed on the girl beside him, he patiently explained, "My aunt wasn’t sure what you liked, so she picked Imperial Hotel. If you want to change the place, that’s fine too. I’ll just let her know."

Imperial Hotel, huh.

Nathalie Quinlan massaged her temples, a bit overwhelmed.

Tomorrow was also at the Imperial Hotel. She had been in Beijing for a week and had eaten at the Imperial Hotel three times, almost treating it like her school cafeteria.

But since Candice Yancey had booked the Imperial Hotel, she didn’t feel like changing it either and nonchalantly lifted her head, saying in a scattered manner, "Let’s do Imperial Hotel then. I don’t know where’s good to eat in Beijing, their dishes are not bad, just help me order a spicy chicken again."

The corners of Amadeus Yancey’s mouth couldn’t help but lift, and he reached out to ruffle the duckbill cap on her head, smiling, "It’s not that exaggerated. Whatever you want to eat, I’ll order for you. Their chef can make anything, not just Santhoma cuisine."

Nathalie Quinlan felt her head pressed down inexplicably, quite irritating, and she nearly lost her patience again. She subtly leaned backward, and at that moment, her phone beside her rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and said to Amadeus Yancey, "I’m going to take a call."

"Mm," Amadeus Yancey silently retracted his hand, his eyes filled with indulgence, and he lazily acknowledged.

Nathalie Quinlan put the phone to her ear and whispered in a hoarse voice, "Hello."

Whatever was said on the other end made her furrow her brows, her eyes half-closed, looking both cold and agitated. She lifted her hand to press down the brim of her cap, then lowered her hand again, and said steadily, "Where are you? I’ll come pick you up."

Amadeus Yancey glanced at her.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t notice, looking down and checking the time before putting the phone back to her ear, saying, "Wait for me, I’ll be over in half an hour."

She hung up the call.

Amadeus Yancey asked as if casually, "Who was that? A friend coming over?"

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t deny it, softly responding, "You’ve met him, my classmate. He came all the way from McKinney and is now at the airport. He came to see me, so I can’t just leave him be. We might have an extra person for lunch today."

To Amadeus Yancey, it wasn’t a big deal how many pairs of chopsticks there were; he was concerned about something else.

Before he could ask, someone else was already more anxious than he was. Alfred Garland looked through the rearview mirror repeatedly and couldn’t help but interject, "Ms. Quinlan, is your classmate a boy or a girl? What’s their name? I think I’ve seen them before."

That question hit the mark, and Amadeus Yancey, leaning back in his seat, remained silent, his gaze burning fiercely at Nathalie Quinlan like a ball of fire, clearly also caring a great deal about this matter.

Nathalie Quinlan, without overthinking it, replied succinctly, "A boy. Justin Wafford, you’ve met him a few times, you should remember."

Justin Wafford... He certainly remembered the name, that boy who was the same age as Miss Quinlan, the best-looking in their group of classmates, quite handsome, tall enough, and seemed to have good grades too.
