Chapter 1887: Start of the First Round Theory Assessment!
Zevaney Kingsley smirked without genuine warmth, observing his reaction before slowly saying, "I heard that the person representing the Moore Family in the examination this time is an acquaintance..."
The Kingsleys Family knew that James Lawrence was Lynn Kingsley’s right-hand man.
She said she was coming to The First Research Institute today to see Therry Kingsley off for the exam, and James Lawrence surprisingly came along.
Zevaney felt something was off. She had a hunch that James Lawrence wasn’t here just to see Therry Kingsley off for the exam, but had another purpose.
Yet she couldn’t figure out who James Lawrence was really here for...
"I don’t know if you’ve heard about that person; she made a big splash at the Kingsleys Family banquet before and had the guts to do it alone..."
Zevaney paused, then continued to probe, "I didn’t expect her to represent the Moore Family for The First Research Institute’s examination, and I don’t know what score she might get in the first round of theory. Uncle Heburn, what do you think she might score?"
However, James Lawrence simply looked indifferent as if he didn’t recognize the person she was talking about, distancing himself from the matter, shaking his head, "I don’t know about that."
The unease in Zevaney’s heart grew stronger; she felt that James Lawrence’s attitude when Nathalie Quinlan was mentioned was somewhat strange, at least not the demeanor towards an irrelevant person.
She felt James Lawrence seemed to have some interest in Nathalie Quinlan’s matter.
Zevaney couldn’t be sure if she was overthinking it, as she was always cautious and rarely showed her emotions.
So after James Lawrence claimed he didn’t know, she didn’t bring up the matter again.
Instead, she turned back, looking towards the direction where Therry Kingsley had entered, and softly said, "I inquired about Andriana Davidson’s progress; he is still stuck on the Level 2 experiment questions, while Therry Kingsley can already handle Level 3. This time the first place in theoretical assessment has to be our Kingsleys Family."
As for Nathalie Quinlan, representing the Moore Family, Zevaney didn’t even consider her.
In some ways, she shared the same opinion as James Lawrence, thinking that Nathalie Quinlan’s participation in The First Research Institute’s assessment was nothing more than a joke.
The final theoretical score might fall between 80-83.
If the institute wanted to give the Moore Family some face, adding two favor points, Nathalie might barely make it into the 70-80 ranks.
Hoping for a higher rank would be somewhat of a dream.
*
The first round of theoretical exams began at ten o’clock.
Nathalie Quinlan arrived at the institute at nine fifty, said a word to Amadeus Yancey and Sadam Vinson, then got off the car and walked to the exam venue on her own.
She almost entered the examination hall right on time.
Three days ago, when Violetta Hoffman personally led her to register, Nathalie Quinlan became famous among the dozens of people in this examination.
Everyone knew there was such a person.
When she entered the exam hall, quite a few people inside turned their heads to look at her.
However, everyone was gearing up to perform their best in the assessment, so after a look, nobody discussed her.
Nathalie Quinlan looked around and found her seat.
She pulled out the chair and sat down, taking out the pen and paper she needed and placed them on the table.
Soon, someone came in with the theory test papers.
The staff from The First Research Institute began to split into two groups to distribute the papers for the first round of assessment.
They didn’t ask to collect the phones or mention the consequences of cheating throughout the examination, remaining aloof and silent, only focusing on distributing the papers.
After all, the exam hall was filled with surveillance and signal jammers.
Anyone participating in the assessment, unless their brain was fried, would most likely not dare to cheat in The First Research Institute’s examination.
Cheating is casual, but the consequences are at your own risk!
