Chapter 1860: Jaycent Kingsley Is Just Like a Nagging Mom
Nathalie Quinlan stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel.
When she reached the hotel, she went to the front desk to check in.
Nathalie handed her ID card to the hotel receptionist, who asked her to wait a moment while they checked her check-in information on the computer.
Jaycent Kingsley, standing nearby, softly said to her, "Regarding your joining The First Research Institute, I’ll mention it to my uncle later. He should be willing to help."
Nathalie originally had one hand in her pocket, looking quite cool, leaning casually against the front desk, waiting for the receptionist to return her ID card.
She raised her head upon hearing him, gave him a serious look: "Thanks."
Her voice was low and a bit hoarse.
But it was clear she cared.
Jaycent gazed at the girl’s clear eyebrows and eyes, smiling: "No need to thank me. The one who should be grateful is me. I’m glad you’re willing to come over, otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do."
Nathalie then briefly explained Marcella Davidson’s health condition to him.
While they were talking, the receptionist finished Nathalie’s check-in, returned her ID card with both hands, along with the room card.
The reception smiled sweetly and warmly: "Hello, dear guest, your room is on the 33rd floor, Room 6. This is your room card, please take care of it."
Nathalie accepted the ID card and room card from her.
The receptionist kindly asked again: "Would you like us to accompany you upstairs?"
"No, thank you." Nathalie placed the ID card into her single shoulder bag, holding only the room card in her hand, gracefully declined the offer.
She turned around, looking at Jaycent Kingsley who accompanied her through the check-in process, raised her head, her face hidden under the duckbill cap, pale and striking: "You can go back first. I can go up by myself. Tomorrow, I’ll go to the manor on time to perform acupuncture for Mrs. Davidson."
Jaycent was a bit surprised to hear Nathalie refer to Marcella Davidson.
He had known Nathalie for several years, the girl had a calm personality, was the slow-to-warm type, and her interactions with familiar people were always even-tempered, let alone with someone she had only met once.
Jaycent didn’t expect Nathalie would care so much about Marcella.
He was briefly stunned, but quickly composed himself, uneasily glancing toward the elevator direction, then turned back to ask the girl: "You really don’t need me to accompany you upstairs?"
"No." Nathalie was already gathering her belongings and preparing to head up.
Seeing her insistence on not needing company, Jaycent didn’t delay her further, handed the Inderia pass to Nathalie: "Be careful by yourself in the hotel, stay safe, if a stranger knocks, remember not to open the door, then call me, I have a place nearby, it takes me only ten minutes to drive over."
Nathalie raised her eyelids, lazily looking at him.
She was realizing for the first time that Jaycent was quite motherly.
She thought only Alfred Garland had this problem, but Jaycent also did, particularly fond of nagging, just like a chanting old mother.
"Send me a message before you go over tomorrow, I’ll come to pick you up." Jaycent reminded her of a bunch of things at once, finally reminding Nathalie to find him the next day.
Nathalie raised her hand, made an OK hand gesture to him, and coolly said ’I’m off,’ then reached to tug down her duckbill cap, pressing the brim lower, stepping toward the elevator...
Jaycent watched her walk to the hotel’s elevator entrance, then picked up his phone, making a call to Kenzie Nabours waiting outside: "SN has completed her check-in, yes, I’m coming out now."
While walking outside.
