Chapter 1071: WhatsApp Also Introduced Couple Avatars

If this trend continues, the Chinese Medicine department will only get better.

Adelle suppressed the jealousy in her eyes, lowered her eyelids to hide her emotions, and slammed the teacup heavily onto the experimental table: "Our Clinical Medicine department is no worse than the Chinese Medicine department. There’s no reason for them to steal the spotlight every time. This time, at the opening ceremony, we must overshadow them!"

Especially that Nathalie Quinlan...

Caryn tightly pressed her lips again and fell into deep thought, her beautiful eyes contemplative.

Illegal Zone.

Just as Nathalie Quinlan had predicted, the Arbitration Committee released the results by noon. The IT Association rejected Cubicle Group’s request.

It proved the Tsinghua University research team’s innocence.

They even published part of the research data brought over by Jackson Wafford and the others on the IT Association’s official website.

The data Jackson and his team provided clearly stated that the Tsinghua University research team had been working on chip research for the past three years.

This year produced the results.

The evidence on Tsinghua’s side was irrefutable.

Cubicle Group, a corporation notorious in the industry for being unreasonable and overbearing, surprisingly accepted this outcome peacefully. After Charles Quarles negotiated with the Arbitration Committee, they didn’t raise further objections to the results.

Next came the preparations for returning home.

Nathalie hadn’t been sleeping well for the past two nights. This continued in Illegal Zone; unable to get comfortable, she barely slept and had several bizarre nightmares.

She woke up in the morning sweating profusely.

After getting up, she took a shower, dried her hair, ordered room service from the hotel for breakfast, and ate lunch.

Only then did she receive a phone call from Jackson Wafford, informing her that everything had been resolved and it was time to prepare to head back.

Nathalie knew she wouldn’t be staying long, so unlike Jackson Wafford and Stella Iversen, she hadn’t brought a suitcase.

Her belongings were simple—a backpack containing a laptop, charger, earphones, blindfold, and some small items.

Nathalie packed up without much effort.

She didn’t rush to open the door and leave; instead, she pulled the swivel chair in the living room, sat by the bar, and waited for Jackson and the others to notify her.

Meanwhile, she decided to check her messages on her phone.

Sadam Vinson and his group were early risers.

At seven thirty in the morning, Sadam had sent her a message asking if she wanted breakfast.

Nathalie rested her cool, pale hand against the phone, idly typing, while glancing at the time: 14:33, half past two in the afternoon.

She then lowered her gaze, returned to WhatsApp, and looked at Sadam’s breakfast message again. She decided not to reply.

Aside from Sadam, Alfred Garland and Wallace Radcliff hadn’t sent her any messages.

She scrolled through WhatsApp—there were lots of messages.

Seven or eight in total.

Other than Sadam’s message, there were messages from Justin Wafford and several members of Class A, and then there was one from Amadeus Yancey.

His avatar was simplistic—black, an infinite void of darkness. It looked as if there wasn’t an avatar, but when clicked, there was a small glimmer of starlight amidst the dark.

It was very faint.

Not too obvious, but it did exist.

The avatar felt like a faint glimmer of light amidst the dark night, akin to a pair of matching avatars with her random white one found online.

Her slender fingers rested on the phone, casually opening the chat window.

Amadeus evidently understood her schedule better than Sadam, as he had only sent one message—around noon.

At that time, she had just woken up, but feeling awful, she went to shower and hadn’t looked at her phone, or she might have seen his message immediately.

Nathalie replied to his message, along with sending him her flight details, when she heard knocking outside the room, followed by the chatter of Jackson and the others.
