The Ugly Duckling Of The Tiger Tribe

Chapter 355: I won

Chapter 355: I won

"You still have the time to think?!" The snake female whipped her tail again, and this time, I wasn’t planning to just jump since I knew she had figured out my pattern and would try to counter my jump.

So, I threw myself at the wall, my claws still dug out to keep me hooked to the top part, near the ceiling.

"Tsk," she clicked her tongue. "Are you a roach instead of a tiger after all?"

"Ah, that’s an insult. And I don’t like it." My eyes darkened. "You’ll pay for that,"

Then, acting like I was lunging towards her, I raised my hand to scratch, but just when she reached her clawed hands to counter me, I grinned and twisted my body, getting underneath her arms and sliding down the floorboard.

I didn’t wait to recover from the scrape on my thigh. Didn’t even feel any stinging pain yet and hurried to the door.

"Where do you think you’re going?!" She flared and came after me, but this was the plan. I had to get her out of the nursery and give this little pup the opportunity to run.

Finally, I was outside, and I threw the pup, letting him roll down the sloppy grass, and yelled.

"Run,"

I didn’t have time to think about the pup for long since a feral snake was trying to kill me.

Thankfully, there was a piece of wood that the children used like a sled down the sloppy grass.

I picked it up, but as soon as I turned, her tail was already headed for me like a spear. And if not for this piece of hard ironwood, she would’ve pierced a hole through my stomach.

"Argh!" She let out a cry of agony.

Even if there were flexible bones in her tail, they were still bones, and the feeling of having those bones compressed as the target of her spike was too hard, making her vulnerable.

Ah, this was the moment I was looking for.

I grabbed the end of her thick scaly tail, my claws digging deep into it. Even if they were hard, there was a spot that didn’t have scales at the end.

"Get. Out!" I screamed and pulled her out of the hour, flinging her in the opposite direction of the slope, and her back hit the swing.

Gosh, I didn’t know I had that much strength.

Well, this is not the time to be distracted and fawning over my heart strength.

Unlike Damar, this beast woman seemed to let her arrogance speak for her. She was impatient and fairly not a very good fighter.

That puts me at an advantage.

If she were half as good as Damar, I’d have already become a lifeless corpse.

I rushed towards her, picking up the sled and whacking her face heavily with it.

From behind me, her tail moved as she tried to stab with the tip, but I moved out of the way. Not fast enough since it grazed my arm and drew blood, but I managed to avoid a lethal attack.

I hissed, my eyes wincing.

There was nothing more annoying than getting an injury and not having Damar to apply his magical medicinal paste.

"Now you’ve done it!"

I wasn’t going to keep her for questioning. I didn’t need to keep a literal threat alive. One needs to uproot all sources of trouble from the roots.

I let out my claws, and instead of just scratching her neck or giving her some scars, I went for the kill.

It all happened in a blur, but I knew what I was doing. I knew what my intentions were and how I wasn’t going to let anyone endanger my children or my future.

I dug my claws into her throat so deep my fingers went in as well, and I nearly beheaded her in one go.

I glared at her, watching as her body squirmed, blood gushing out of her neck as she choked, trying to breathe with no way to breathe.

Her tail coiled and uncoiled. You know the way a snake wiggles around whenever you cut its head.

I’ve heard tales of a neck getting reattached to snakes even after it’s cut off. So, best be safe.

From behind, I grabbed a chunk of her red hair. She was still squirming, her bloody fingers digging into the grass, trying to escape me, but it was too late.

I clawed her neck from behind and finished what I did from the front, beheading her in such a messy way.

It was disgusting.

Was this what Damar felt when he beheaded Garrot for the sake of keeping my cubs and me safe?

I threw the head far from the body, planning to keep it like this until the body stopped moving. And until we burn it.

Hah!

I’m tired.

I sat back on the grass, looking up at the evening sky.

I didn’t know I was so good at fighting. I guess I have Arinya to thank. If I didn’t have a body as tough as this, would I have been able to protect my babies, as well as the other cubs?

Would I have been able to protect anything?

I closed my eyes for a second, taking in the air that was not mixed with the cold metallic tang of blood. Ah, this snake female definitely ruined the innocence of this playground.

Then, from a distance, I heard my name being called.

I turned my head and found Fenric in front, and Noah, as well as other males of the kingdom, rushing towards the nursery.

Haha, they must’ve all been alarmed.

"Welcome," I said, and they halted, taking a look at the blood mess on the grass, the blood all over me, the headless body, and the head that was in the distance. "You guys are quite late. You missed the show."

"Arinya... this..." Fenric’s hand trembled as he looked at my bloody state, and I looked down at my body.

"Ah," I looked up at him and smiled. "This isn’t my blood."
