"If trampling me, forcing me to live humbly, brings you joy and you’re willing to let me go, then at least set a timeline for it. I’ll cooperate with you, so I don’t have to live every day in fear, being humiliated by all of you in turns."
Ignatius’s grip around her slender waist tightened slightly. He was both furious and frustrated. Set a timeline? Let her go? That was out of the question. Every time he approached her and saw her indifferent expression, it stirred an uncontrollable urge to torment her, to force every emotion out of her.
Ending this relationship had never even crossed his mind.
"Humiliated in turns? Who else has been bullying you?" Ignatius’s phoenix eyes narrowed. As far as he was concerned, only he could treat her that way.
Delphine recalled what Melody Cloud had said in the hospital room. That woman masked everything so flawlessly. Over the years, no one had a bad word to say against her, and with her family background, it was impossible for ordinary people to touch her.
She let out a cold laugh. "I visited Miss Melody at the hospital today. Miss Melody said you not only saved her, but also stayed by her side all night. If you have feelings for her, you should end things with me quickly. That way, when she eventually finds out, there won’t be a scene. It won’t matter to you, but things will certainly get difficult for me."
