Bessie Leclair, after delivering a message for Griffith Squire, didn’t dare come to the Leclair residence as frequently and hadn’t visited for three consecutive days.
Ignatius Leclair behaved as usual, but Delphine was restless these past few days. Planning an escape was no small matter, especially since she intended to take the two children with her. Nathan’s tenure has been short, and despite his decisive measures, many are still observing," Maximilian reported promptly on Nathan Leclair’s matters.
The so-called neutral families are merely watching the power struggle between the Leclair family’s main and second branches, waiting for Ignatius Leclair to make a move.
Ignatius Leclair lowered his eyes, his long fingers brushing over the smooth surface of the table. He said in a low voice, "Spread the word that the Leclair brothers are harmonious."
Maximilian’s eyes flashed, and he immediately agreed.
"Nathan plans to hold a shareholder meeting. If you, Mr. Leclair, could attend, it would dissipate rumors of discord within the Leclair family in the South Sea. Then, these sly families wouldn’t be able to sit on the fence," Arthur White suggested.
"I don’t have time to go," Ignatius Leclair flatly refused. Rather than attend a shareholder meeting, he’d prefer to be at home watching his woman and children. Even without speaking, it would bring him comfort.
Arthur White was left speechless, as Ignatius Leclair had become increasingly hands-off with things big and small.
