Chapter 622: You Should Try to Love Someone, Not Possess the Person You Like
The handsome and stoic man stood in the open snow, squinting at Richard Shaw, who had been equally ignored. He curled his lips into a smile and said slowly, "Shall we go in, hmm?"
Richard Shaw clasped the Buddha Beads around his wrist, smiled faintly, and replied, "Ignatius, after you."
Ignatius Leclair snorted coldly, shamelessly taking the lead and entering the house.
In the living room, Delphine was bringing out the dishes she had just prepared from the kitchen. Nicholas and Benjamin surrounded Leah, their curiosity about the beautiful new aunt evident.
When Ignatius walked in, he immediately saw the little woman busy cooking and serving dishes, while Leah Squire was holding the older child in one arm and pulling the younger one with the other, doting on them completely. His handsome face instantly darkened, and he sneered coldly, "Nicholas, Benjamin, sit down and eat properly."
Richard Shaw had clearly spoiled this woman beyond reason. She was naturally domineering, and now she dared to boss around *his* woman and take advantage of *his* children?
In Ignatius’s mind, Delphine was already firmly categorized as his woman. Without saying a word, he sat down at the dining table.
Delphine brought out the last soup dish and noticed three adults and two children at the table, all waiting expectantly for her. Her smile froze slightly as she said, "I only cooked enough for two."
The dinner was originally prepared for her and Leah Squire, with Nicholas’s negligible appetite accounted for.
Ignatius’s phoenix eyes deepened as he stood up and made a phone call.
In the end, the dinner turned into a meal of five-star hotel takeout.
After Nicholas and Benjamin finished eating, the two little heads huddled together, sharing stories about what had happened on New Year’s Day. Then they exchanged their toys and snacks before happily going off to watch cartoons.
Delphine tidied up the dining table, took a bath, and then chatted with Leah Squire.
Meanwhile, in the downstairs living room, the two men who refused to leave opened a bottle of red wine and, gazing at the snowy night outside, indulged in bitter amusement while drinking.
"So, you’ve made up your mind? It’s not the influence of your second personality?" Richard Shaw’s chauffeur had been waiting outside the villa all this time, but the man himself stayed, unwilling to leave so early.
Ignatius polished off his glass of red wine, his phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze unfathomably dark.
Even he couldn’t clearly distinguish his feelings. He only knew that, regardless of any amnesia or knowledge of Magnus Leclair, he still desired this woman. As for why—he didn’t know.
"Isn’t my second personality still a part of me?" Ignatius said coldly. "You’re the one who helped Delphine handle Constantine Stewart last time, correct?"
Richard Shaw, surprised that Ignatius still harbored resentment over something so long ago, shook his head with a laugh. "That’s right."
"Then while you’re at it, deal with the Land family’s second son." Ignatius sneered leisurely, his eyes glinting with frost. Not using Richard would just be foolish.
"Are you sure you want to do this? If Delphine finds out later, your relationship will only become more strained." Richard Shaw said with some disapproval. Ignatius’s methods of blending tricks from the vanity fair into relationships were a recipe for disaster—something he had already tasted plenty of.
"Didn’t you use similar tactics back in the day to force that young girl to divorce you?" Richard Shaw raised his glass and clinked it against Ignatius’s, speaking indifferently. "You should try to love someone, instead of forcibly seizing the person you like."
"Is there a difference?" The handsome man lifted his gaze, the deep, ancient tranquility of his phoenix eyes briefly flashing with an enigmatic light. He spoke in a low voice, "Liking someone means keeping them for yourself, doesn’t it?"
