Chapter 576: Going Against the Young Master Li from Southeast Asia?
Early the next morning, Kyla Zamora rushed to the Imperial City from Southeast Asia, exhausted and travel-worn. When she saw Delphine for the first time in three years, and then Nicholas Carter, who was beautiful, adorable, and resembled a miniature version of Ignatius Leclair, she was so stunned she couldn’t say a word. When she finally snapped out of it, she burst into tears and exclaimed, "You still have a shred of decency left, knowing to call me. I thought you were going to stay anonymous for the rest of your life."
Delphine quickly invited her inside and chuckled softly, saying, "I’ve only been back for two months. Once I got settled, I immediately reached out to you."
Kyla looked around the small villa. Though it couldn’t compare to the Leclair Mansion or the Emerald Hill Villas of the old Southeast Asia days, it was still an elegant residence. The security system here was top-notch, befitting someone like Delphine. She couldn’t help but sigh and remark, "The last time I saw you, you were still pregnant. Then, there was no news at all. Meanwhile, Southeast Asia spawned all sorts of rumors claiming Ignatius had a little daughter he adored to the heavens, yet not a word about you. Where have you been all these years? Why didn’t we hear a single thing from you?"
Delphine fell silent for a moment before she spoke briefly about taking Nicholas abroad. She did not utter a word about her story with Ignatius Leclair. No one would ever believe that the Crown Prince of Southeast Asia, a man with extraordinary power, had a split personality.
Ever since she discovered that the man she had fallen in love with was the second personality of Ignatius, her feelings toward him had been clear-cut. Without love, there was no hatred. As for the harm he had caused her, most of the pain was soothed by the presence of Nicholas and Benjamin.
To her, this man was nothing more than a stranger passing through her life.
"Nicholas is Ignatius Leclair’s child. I want to return to the Entertainment Sector, and I’ll take Nicholas with me. If Ignatius ever tries to reclaim Nicholas, I’ll at least have some public opinion on my side." Delphine said bluntly.
Kyla was so shocked her words came out in fragments: "Delphine, you—you want to go toe-to-toe with Ignatius?"
"He’s not flawless, nor is he untouchable. You don’t need to worry. As long as Ignatius doesn’t come after my son, I won’t invite trouble." Delphine said nonchalantly.
Kyla fell silent for a moment. For some reason, her blood seemed to surge with excitement. Was Delphine really going to confront Ignatius, the heir of a family blessed with a century-old legacy of honor? If it were anyone else, Kyla would be urging them to light three sticks of incense for protection. But Delphine was different—she had witnessed firsthand how Ignatius had once doted on her.
Though Kyla didn’t know what had transpired in between, feelings couldn’t lie.
Just do it! Kyla secretly made up her mind, breaking into a delighted smile as she asked, "So when are you planning to announce your return to the Entertainment Sector?"
If Delphine was willing to return to that stage, there was no doubt she would be its brightest star. There was an unmistakable quality about her—a rare air of elegance and authenticity in a world of glitz and glamour. She could be identified at a glance amidst the crowd.
"Since this is a comeback, I don’t want to revisit the same paths I’ve walked before." Delphine replied serenely. "I plan to start a production studio and make films."
Kyla was so excited she nearly slapped her own thigh. These days, transitioning from actor to director was the industry’s hottest trend. Was this about to make Delphine the most popular female director?
"Wait—hold on. I’m your manager. If you’re going to be a director, what am I supposed to do?" Kyla was a beat late as realization dawned on her.
Delphine couldn’t help but laugh, her voice low and gentle. "I can recommend an artist to you. You’ll adore him—he’s got a baby face and is incredibly charming. As for the daily operations of the studio, I still want you to handle them."
Kyla slapped her thigh in excitement as they went on to discuss many specific plans. This project was officially set in motion.
