Chapter 547: Nicholas Carter, please sit next to Benjamin Leclair

Cassius Turner accompanied Nicholas Carter to the kindergarten’s junior class, and both the principal and the junior class teacher, having been informed in advance, were already waiting at the door.

This kindergarten was constructed to resemble a fairy-tale castle, with pink and blue domed areas for teaching and living facilities, nestled in the most tranquil wealthy district of the Imperial City. Everyone, from security guards to teachers, wore unified uniforms.

Delphine glanced at the kindergarten’s amenities and surrounding environment, instantly understanding that this place must be top-tier.

She couldn’t help but feel indebted, yet Cassius Turner brushed it off nonchalantly, said nothing, and effortlessly arranged Nicholas Carter’s enrollment.

The teacher greeted Wilbur Turner and Delphine with a smiling face, casting a subtle, curious gaze upon her. Over the years, the Land family’s private kindergarten had become a coveted institution for the elite in the Imperial City because of the family’s rigorous approach to education. Yet now, for Wilbur Turner to personally pull strings and bring in a child from a civilian background, the teachers’ gossiping fires were ablaze.

The teacher led Nicholas Carter away for a simple entrance assessment, and once it was completed, the junior class teacher was overjoyed—it was as if they had received a gift in the form of a child prodigy. This kindergarten also had educational targets to meet, and with Nicholas Carter as part of the class, the teacher could almost foresee her bulky end-of-year bonus. In an instant, she looked at Nicholas as though he were a walking money tree.

"Miss Carter, I’ll take Nicholas to the classroom now. This is the parent’s handbook, which includes the junior class schedule and daily nutritional menus. We also have teachers available for 24-hour care; if Miss Carter ever finds herself unable to pick up or drop off Nicholas, you can contact the care teachers directly." The junior class teacher handed the booklet to Delphine with a barely concealed note of pride. Every child who came to the Land family kindergarten received the best care possible.

Delphine opened it and quickly fell silent. After Nicholas followed the teacher to the classroom, delighted and full of joy, she turned to Cassius Turner and said quietly, "Professor Turner, Nicholas’s enrollment has been far too much trouble for you. I imagine getting into a kindergarten like this isn’t easy."

Cassius Turner responded with a gentle smile, speaking softly, "It’s hardly any trouble. My family holds shares in this kindergarten. I didn’t mention it earlier because I worried you might refuse. This kid is very smart; I’m simply bringing in a talented student to benefit the family school."

His words were so considerate and comforting that a warm feeling swept through Delphine’s heart. She could clearly sense the fondness he had for her, yet she could offer him no response—indeed, she instinctively avoided it. Nicholas’s enrollment was something she could not deny left her in his debt.

A handsome, unfamiliar little boy joined the junior class, instantly throwing the class into turmoil.

Seating arrangements in the junior class were taken seriously. Benjamin Leclair had the best seat, and the teacher was somewhat at a loss as to how to arrange Nicholas Carter’s seat. Though he wasn’t from a prominent family, he had been brought in by Wilbur Turner.

"Nicholas Carter, you’ll sit next to Benjamin Leclair."

"Teacher, I want to sit next to Benjamin too."

"Teacher, why can he sit next to Benjamin and we cannot?"

The junior class consisted of six boys and three girls, and Benjamin Leclair was the most attractive of them all—everyone wanted to sit next to him.

Nicholas Carter hesitantly walked to his seat, where a delicate, shy little girl, resembling a budding flower bud, was seated next to him.

Benjamin Leclair was first captivated by his small pig-shaped backpack before looking up at the newcomer.

The two of them stared at each other, their large, bright-black, grape-like eyes wide with astonishment, unable to say a word. A peculiar thought ran through both their minds: "He/She is really adorable."
