Chapter 545 Young Master Wilbur Turner Really Is Somewhat Tempted
The second son of the Land Family glanced at Yeats Howard, who spent his days being carefree and wreaking havoc, then shifted his gaze to Ignatius Leclair, who was handsome, reserved, mature, and steady, before chuckling: "Those women are just blind, that’s all."
No wonder he could stir up an earthquake among the aristocratic circles of the Imperial City’s socialites. This man exuded a cold, restrained aura, and with such a family background, even having a child didn’t seem to deter people from flocking to him.
This kind of charisma could only be compared to the Shaw Family’s elder grandson, decorated with countless military achievements.
"Honestly, have you been dating someone recently?" Yeats Howard stared at him slyly. Cassius Turner remained silent with a faint smile, and when the phone rang, he walked aside to take the call.
The call was from Nicholas Carter, the little boy.
"Professor Uncle, today is my birthday. May I invite you to my birthday party?" Nicholas’s Mandarin carried traces of a French accent, his youthful and clear voice mirrored his mother’s—slow and polite.
Cassius Turner was pleasantly surprised; it seemed his recent efforts hadn’t been in vain. Clearly, Delphine and her son had categorized him as part of their circle of friends; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been invited to such a private birthday gathering.
"So today is Nicholas’s birthday. Uncle is honored to receive your invitation," the second son of the Land Family responded cheerfully, "Uncle will definitely attend on time."
After Cassius hung up the phone, he was promptly grabbed by Yeats.
Yeats Howard looked utterly abandoned, as if life had lost all meaning. He clenched his teeth and shouted, "You sly dog, Cassius! You’ve been hiding a secret lover! We promised to party recklessly until old age, to conquer the circles of socialites together—you traitor!"
The second son of the Land Family saw his exaggerated display and responded with a light smile: "That’s because you haven’t met the right person yet."
With a playful grin, Cassius patted the Demon King Hun on the shoulder and said, "Brother’s heading out first. Don’t forget to escort my little nephew back to the Land Family."
"Get lost~" Yeats growled through gritted teeth.
Every year on Nicholas’s birthday, his mommy would allow him to invite good friends to celebrate. This year, having just returned to the country, the only good friend he could think of was Professor Uncle.
The small birthday party was held in a rented Four Seasons Courtyard.
Cassius Turner spent quite some time picking out a suitable gift. When he arrived at the courtyard, it was just dusk. He had deliberately gone home to change into a silver-gray formal suit, as though attending an evening banquet. His black Maybach couldn’t enter such an old-fashioned residential area.
Walking in with the gift in hand, he passed through the lively and vibrant neighborhood, saturated with the essence of daily life. When he reached the Four Seasons Courtyard, he knocked on the door, but no one answered.
The second son of the Land Family hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door lightly. The gate to the courtyard was ajar. The somewhat aged courtyard was filled with an array of flowers and greenery, which kept the space neat and tidy.
At dusk, the courtyard was shared by several families. Taking a glance around, the man instinctively headed toward the quiet west side of the residence.
The entranceway had been cleaned recently; the ground was damp with light traces of water, giving it a refreshing touch. In front of the house were several potted green plants and vibrant bougainvillea, brimming with life and vitality.
The door was slightly ajar. When Cassius walked in, he saw a modest two-bedroom layout, decorated warmly. The white sheer curtains were newly sewn, and the interior furnishings were simple yet elegant. Even the old tables and chairs were covered with retro, fresh tablecloths, giving an inexplicable sense of refinement. On the table sat a bouquet of half-unfurled roses, emitting a gentle fragrance.
The second son of the Land Family smiled, and suddenly found himself yearning for the future. If he were to live with Delphine and her son, their home might look just as warm and delightful. When Nicholas went to school, he could tutor both mother and son with their studies; during winter and summer vacations, he could take them to the Loire Valley to stay at a vineyard.
The second son of the Land Family truly felt his heart stir.
