the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart

Chapter 525: Goodbye, Magnus Leclair

Chapter 525: Goodbye, Magnus Leclair

Delphine saw the man enter and stood up with her body slightly tense, her breath falling to an almost imperceptible level.

"I have conditions." Her skin was so pale it seemed almost transparent, her brows faintly furrowed. Her voice was low and hoarse, devoid of any trace of feminine sweetness or softness.

"Go on." Ignatius Leclair walked to the liquor cabinet, chose a bottle of red wine, and then brought over two glasses. His almond-shaped eyes narrowed slightly as he opened the wine.

"I need you to withdraw the charges against my father and stop blacklisting my friends in the industry. As for the dissolution of the studio, so be it," Delphine said in a hoarse voice, her expression indifferent. "If you can fulfill these two conditions, I’ll sign the divorce agreement."

Ignatius looked at her for a moment. Women who are too soft-hearted will always be controlled by others.

He calmly took a sip of red wine, then gestured for her to sit down, speaking in a low voice, "Deal. Come, have a drink?"

Delphine didn’t say anything, nor did she show any emotion. She tried to discern a trace of the past from his familiar, handsome face, but it was futile. The Magnus of old had cherished her like a child, the amnesiac Ignatius had indulged her almost excessively, but the man before her now had the most complete personality, the most perfect memory. Yet, they were nothing more than strangers to each other. That’s why he could invite her to share a drink with such casual indifference—only to finally put an end to this marriage.

"This past year, despite losing part of your memory, you were still Ignatius, not Magnus, correct?" Her lips curled into a mocking smile as she asked.

Ignatius stiffened for a moment. This was something he couldn’t deny. Delphine Carter’s naked sarcasm accusing him of abandoning her left him speechless, because this past year had indeed been him, not Magnus. It was simply that he’d lost his memory and been heavily influenced by his second personality, which made him uncontrollably drawn to her.

The man narrowed his eyes, a hint of anger flashing in those phoenix-like eyes as he spoke coldly, "If Miss Carter has any other requests, I suggest you voice them now. After tonight, they will no longer be valid."

Delphine shook her head.

Ignatius placed a call to Arthur White and issued his orders indifferently, "Withdraw the charges against Yunji. Also, revoke the blacklist directive."

He hung up the phone, his phoenix eyes drifting to the divorce agreement that had been left untouched on the table.

Delphine walked over, picked up the pen, and her large, dark eyes briefly lingered on the words on the paper, stirring her for an instant. Then, at the signature line, she carefully wrote her name stroke by stroke. Her handwriting was slow, neat, a beautiful example of traditional calligraphy. It was something Magnus had forced her to learn.

Upon finishing, she stared at the writing, momentarily dazed. Then she placed the pen down and walked out directly.

As she reached the door, Delphine suddenly turned around to glance one last time at the familiar yet unfamiliar handsome face. In a soft, low voice, she said goodbye: "Goodbye, Magnus."

Ignatius froze mid-sip of his red wine, his phoenix-like eyes turning nearly icy as he looked over, but Delphine had already turned away, leaving him only her slender and delicate silhouette.

The man drained the rest of the wine in his glass in one gulp, then slammed the wine glass down angrily.

The glass rolled a few times on the thick carpet before coming to a stop.

So, her meaning was that he couldn’t compare to his second personality? The man’s cold and sharp features twisted into a mocking smile. Too bad that years ago, Magnus had agreed to permanently sleep in order to save her. As long as Ignatius existed, Magnus would never awaken again in this lifetime.

At first, the man was furious, but then his almond-shaped eyes narrowed as a sense of unease suddenly crept in. Why had she said farewell to him?
