Chapter 479: The Man Casually Discards the Clothes Stained with Perfume
It was the first time Ignatius Leclair had such a woman’s perfume scent on him, implying the two spent quite some time together, and at a very close distance.
Delphine lowered her eyes, speaking blandly, "This woman has a good taste; the top notes of the perfume are calamus, Egyptian citron, citrus, the middle notes are Nile River Lotus, and the base notes are Frankincense Tree and Western Cypress."
Ignatius’s expression changed suddenly, his phoenix eyes deep and silent. He didn’t expect that just spending such a short time with Sharn Joe would leave him with the perfume scent, and for Delphine to catch it.
But to explain that he went to see a psychologist? The man pressed his thin lips with disdain and said deeply, "Just got back, I’m going to take a shower and change clothes."
Ignatius returned to his house, showered, and changed clothes. Catching sight of the clothes stained with perfume, he simply tossed them into the trash can, discarding them.
When he came back, Delphine was already up and was having a meal with Yun Ji and Mrs. Li.
Desmond Wood had left a few days ago, much to Ignatius’s satisfaction.
Ignatius came over three times a day without fail, with all daily needs managed by designated personnel, and he specially arranged for Mrs. Li, whom he trusted the most, to take care of Delphine. Yun Ji had noticed this and wouldn’t mind it as much now.
The father and daughter had a heartfelt conversation once, during which Delphine was determined. Yun Ji, thinking they didn’t have much time left together, decided to turn a blind eye.
"Young master is here? Have you eaten?" Mrs. Li hastily went to get utensils as she saw him come in.
Ignatius took his seat without a second thought, joining the three at the meal.
The man had exceptionally elegant dining etiquette, making every action pleasing to watch. Initially, the three at the table were chatting occasionally, but once Ignatius joined, the conversation instantly halted.
After the meal, Yun Ji went to brew some tea. Ignatius, originally a coffee drinker, recently influenced by Yun Ji and Richard Shaw, gradually came to appreciate the beauty of tea, occasionally enjoying a cup.
Delphine moved once again to the lounge chair on the porch, sitting amidst the green trees and flowers reading. Ever since she became pregnant, she has been trying to maintain a peaceful mindset, discarding all distracting thoughts, reading and cultivating herself.
After finishing his tea, Ignatius spoke a few words with Yun Ji before making his way to the porch, quietly watching Delphine read.
When she was engrossed in reading, her thin lips would unconsciously part, resembling a slightly silly hamster, dropped into a warehouse full of rice,
Ignatius’ sensual Adam’s apple bobbed as he envisioned bringing this silly little hamster home, raising her to be plump and round, hugging her to sleep every night would surely be comfortable.
The man turned and went inside, fetched a thin blanket, and draped it over her. Seeing her look up at him, expression confused, he couldn’t help but laugh softly, saying, "What a fool."
Delphine snorted coldly, not a word of explanation about the perfume matter, yet he called her a fool? Ha.
She lowered her eyes, too lazy to bother with him, and continued reading her book.
Ignatius didn’t find it dull at all, just sat beside her, watching until Maximilian messaged that the scandal involving Bessie Leclair and her lover had erupted at the hospital, couldn’t be covered up.
The man’s phoenix eyes narrowed, deep like an ancient pond, unhappy, he got up, instructing Delphine to rest early. Seeing her casually respond with a hum, not even looking at him, still angry about the perfume issue, he unsuspectingly smiled.
Ignatius curled his lips, glanced at her for a moment, then leisurely got up to clean up the mess.
