Chapter 383: Sure Enough, Here with the Mistress
Chapter 383: Sure Enough, Here with the Mistress
Delphine hesitated for a moment. The female attendant seemed to notice and smiled, "Miss, would you like me to go to the mall and select one for you? May I know the brand you usually wear?"
"No, thank you." Delphine smiled slightly and called Leah. Leah always kept a spare gown in the trunk of her car. At these elite banquets, tossing wine or pulling loose threads were common petty tricks. Socialite ladies always carried a backup gown to avoid an embarrassing situation.
Leah’s phone went unanswered. Delphine frowned slightly, sitting in the lounge. Her bright, watery eyes narrowed, and while the call didn’t connect, she casually opened a video on her phone and placed it aside.
As the female attendant exited, a well-dressed man entered. He appeared to be in his thirties, his belly slightly protruding, his face glowing with an almost greasy vitality. The moment he saw Delphine, his eyes froze with astonishment, completely entranced.
When Delphine saw an unfamiliar man step in, countless possibilities flashed across her mind for what could happen. In a cold voice, she said, "This is the ladies’ lounge. Who are you?"
The man was Liam Stirling, the live-in son-in-law of the Yeager Family’s affiliated second-tier wealthy clan. A frequent visitor to South Seas brothels, he was here today to attend the wedding between the Leclair Family and the Yeager Family. Initially, he had restrained his flirtatious tendencies but had received a highly suggestive text message that made him unable to resist exploring. Sneaking in, he was hoping for a tryst and now, seeing this utterly pure and stunning beauty, whose grace surpassed all the women he’d ever encountered, his rationality completely evaporated. He stepped forward with a sycophantic smile, saying, "Little beauty, you clearly invited me over. Why are you asking who I am now?"
Disgust flickered in Delphine’s eyes. Seeing his lecherous, unabashed gaze, her face turned pale with fury. She sneered, "I suggest you leave now, before you end up skinned and gutted with no one to save you."
She had never seen this man before and was sure he wasn’t from any top-tier clan in South Seas. When this incident inevitably escalated, he would merely be cannon fodder.
Instead of retreating, the man grew more audacious upon seeing her calm, elegant demeanor. He chuckled lecherously, "You just don’t know how good your big brother here can be."
As Liam Stirling stepped forward and was about to touch Delphine, the lounge door was suddenly flung open. A slightly overweight socialite barged in aggressively, followed by her entourage. Upon seeing a young "homewrecker" inside, she immediately roared, "You ungrateful bastard! I knew you were sneaking around with a mistress here. Today, I’ll ruin you!"
The socialite, flanked by five or six women, stormed forward. They grabbed Liam and pummeled him relentlessly. Delphine, wide-eyed, stood frozen, finding the scene both ludicrous and eerily familiar. Just last year, back in South Seas, she had witnessed a similar scene of someone beating up a mistress. She hadn’t expected to end up being a bystander at the center of it this year.
The commotion naturally drew attention from the outside. The lounge quickly became surrounded by onlookers. Chatter filled the air, with people pointing and whispering.
"It’s Mrs. Stirling again. So uncouth, always making a scene, and yet she never divorces him year after year. How utterly shameful."
"Who says they aren’t divorced? The man refuses to leave her. No matter how ugly or fat Mrs. Stirling may be, you can’t deny she’s rich."
"Wherever this couple shows up, there’s bound to be drama to watch."
Within moments, Mr. Stirling’s face was scratched up, dripping with blood as he howled pitifully, pinned to the ground and beaten by a group of ferocious socialites.
"Sis, what should we do with this mistress?"
All eyes suddenly turned to Delphine, who was still standing silently at the side.
