Chapter 1089: Her Reputation Is Ruined, Richard Shaw Cannot Stand By
Richard Shaw carried her to the bed, looking at the drizzling spring rain outside. He got into bed and held her in his arms, saying in a deep voice, "Sleep a little longer."
Seeing that the man did not bring up the scandal involving Luna, Crystal Landon was a bit surprised and slowly closed her eyes to catch up on some sleep.
Richard Shaw watched her curl up like a little animal against his chest, behaving unusually obediently. He gently touched her long hair, his gaze slightly deeper. Only after she fell asleep did he get up and return to the Military District.
Shuan drove over to pick him up. Noticing the Major General’s gloomy expression, neither happy nor angry, he dared not say much and focused on driving. As they approached the gates of the Military District, Shuan spotted a familiar figure huddled under a tree and suddenly exclaimed.
Richard Shaw, immersed in his thoughts, followed Shuan’s gaze, frowned, and said, "Go check it out."
The spring rain kept drizzling endlessly, enveloping the world in a layer of mist.
Luna Lawrence was hugging her knees, squatting under a tree, her little face pale as she waited in the rain.
After the post went viral yesterday, it quickly became widely known. As expected, it was suppressed, and Richard Shaw’s side must have heard about it. However, neither Crystal nor the Shaw Family contacted her, making Luna feel uneasy.
She had gone to great lengths to defame herself, yet if the Shaw Family ignored her, how could the subsequent drama play out?
Without a single call from Richard, the matter was quietly suppressed. After much deliberation, Luna decided to arrive at the Military District gate early in the morning, staying in the rain on purpose without an umbrella. Since her reputation was already tarnished, Richard couldn’t just ignore her.
Luna had been squatting for almost two hours, soaked through, when she finally saw the black Hummer stop in front of her. She restrained her inner excitement, looked up, and choked with emotion, "Big Brother Richard."
Richard, having seen someone who resembled her from afar, did not expect it to be truly her. Noticing her drenched in the rain, he asked gravely, "Luna, why are you here? What happened?"
Shuan hurried back to the car to fetch an umbrella.
Luna felt somewhat embarrassed, hugging her soaked body, and lowered her eyes as she choked out, "I have nowhere to go. They’re all calling me a mistress."
After speaking, Luna suddenly said in a panic, "I just came to take a look. I’ll leave right away."
Standing up as she spoke, after squatting for two solid hours, her legs were already numb. As she stood, she suddenly staggered and was about to fall.
Richard managed to catch her just in time and said in a deep voice, "I’ll have Shuan drive you to school."
Having said that, Richard felt that holding her wasn’t quite appropriate, so he withdrew his hand.
"Big Brother Richard, my leg hurts," Luna said as her face turned pale, and then she fainted.
Richard’s expression shifted slightly as he carried her into the car and told Shuan sternly, "To the hospital."
Crystal woke up halfway through her sleep with a bit of a stomach ache, startled awake. Initially thinking it was her period, she found no blood and had to endure the pain to get dressed and find Mrs. Zhao.
Seeing the rainy and dreary weather of the day, a time when spring sleep leads one into a deep slumber, Mrs. Zhao hadn’t bothered to wake the old lady. Seeing Crystal up so early and looking unwell, she hurriedly asked, "What’s wrong, madam?"
"Take me to the hospital, but don’t disturb Grandma," Crystal said softly.
Mrs. Zhao quickly nodded and instructed the driver to take Crystal to the hospital.
