Crystal Landon led him into Uncle Gao’s restaurant. The door was ajar, and a sign saying temporarily closed was posted outside. She pushed the door open and called out loudly, "Uncle Gao?"
The restaurant was incredibly quiet. After a few seconds, Uncle Gao opened the inner partition door, came out, and said with a big smile, "Miss, why are you visiting so early this year?"
"Uncle Gao, do you have guests?" Crystal clearly felt that Uncle Gao was comparatively tense today, and the small restaurant was permeated with an extraordinarily oppressive atmosphere.
"A friend came from afar to see me. But it doesn’t matter." Uncle Gao saw she had brought an outsider, paused slightly, and smiled, "Miss, is this your friend?"
Crystal nodded and said, "He’s Caspian Howard. I trust him a lot."
Crystal’s trust in Hawk Howard was even greater than in Richard Shaw. Hawk Howard was the one who raced with her, drank with her, and shared the solitude with her. Such a person was indeed trustworthy.
Hawk Howard noticed she had brought him to such a rundown restaurant and seemed to have known the middle-aged uncle for more than just one or two years. He immediately smiled, "Good day, uncle. I’m Hawk Howard, a specially appointed bio-engineer by the nation, currently doing research at the institute."

Uncle Gao then smiled and said, "Mr. Howard, please have a seat."
Uncle Gao went to make tea for both of them.
Hawk Howard squinted at his unsteady legs and casually asked, "You’ve never mentioned that you know such a middle-aged uncle."

"That’s why I brought you today. Caspian, you’re the first to know about Uncle Gao’s existence." Crystal said flatly. The event that happened on Chinese New Year’s Eve made her awaken from the beautiful dream she had woven for herself.
This forced marriage was not something she could achieve as perfect just through her hard work. From last night to this morning, such a long time, Richard Shaw hadn’t even bothered to provide an explanation. Crystal suddenly realized that in this marriage, she might have never really had access to his inner world.
The human heart is the most complex and mysterious thing; some people, even if they love madly, may find their entire life is just an illusion.
She felt somewhat disheartened, and had no choice but to seek Uncle Gao to investigate Richard Shaw’s affairs.
But once the connections from Uncle Gao’s side were utilized, it would be impossible for Uncle Gao to stay hidden in the Imperial City anymore, so it made no difference whether Caspian knew or not.
Uncle Gao made two cups of tea, brought them over, and smiled, "Miss, are you looking for help with something?"
Crystal nodded and said, "I have a matter I’d like your assistance with: investigate Richard Shaw’s personal emotional issues in the military district over the past few years."
Upon hearing this, both Uncle Gao and Hawk Howard were taken aback.
Uncle Gao knocked over a cup on the table, spilling tea everywhere, and nervously straightened up. He spoke in deliberately hushed tones, "How did Miss get entangled with Major General Shaw? We don’t have much sway in the military district."
Uncle Gao had always been aware of Crystal’s acuity, but he didn’t expect her to be this sharp, knowing they had the ability to intervene in military affairs. However, the master’s foundation was not yet stable, and he was utterly powerless against the military district. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have let Miss stay in the Imperial City all these years.
But Hawk Howard looked at Crystal with a face full of anger and said angrily, "You mean, Richard Shaw is having an affair?"
