The Triplet Alphas' Secret Mate

Chapter 102: Possessiveness

Chapter 102: Possessiveness

Scarlett’s POV

The silence that followed was heavy, suffocating—but it didn’t last.

The air began to vibrate as their voices flooded my mind, a chaotic tangle of mind-links that made my head throb.

’I am your mate, Scarlett,’ Liam’s voice boomed, strong and possessive. ’You have to choose me.’

’Scar... no one can love you more than I do,’ Leo’s voice cut through, softer, desperate. ’Don’t listen to him. I’m your mate. I’m the one who truly cares.’

’Choose me,’ Leon growled through the link, the memory of his touch in the library still burning on my skin. ’You know your body already belongs to me. I’m your mate.’

I looked at them, my heart heavy with a mixture of anger and disbelief. Each of them was so foolish. So arrogant. They were all hiding behind the privacy of the mind-link, claiming me in the shadows but lacking the backbone to say the words out loud in front of their brothers. If they truly believed they were my mates, why weren’t they brave enough to stand up and claim me for the world to see?

Liam’s patience snapped. "Choose!" he yelled, his voice echoing off the walls.

"Stop yelling at her!" Leo shot back, stepping toward Liam.

Liam’s gaze turned deadly as he looked between them. "I will kill both of you if that’s what it takes to have Scarlett to myself. Don’t test me."

Leo let out a cold scoff. "You won’t get the chance. I’ll send you to Mother before you even try."

The mention of their dead mother sent a chill through the room. The hatred between them was so raw, so scary. The vision of their dead bodies flashed in my mind again—blood on the grass, eyes staring at nothing—and I realized that if I chose one, I was signing the death warrants of the other two... and maybe even his.

"You three... stop it!" I shouted, the force of my voice finally making them freeze.

I pushed the covers aside and stood up, my legs shaky but my gaze hard. I looked at each of them in turn, seeing the bruises they had given each other and the selfishness in their eyes.

"I am not choosing any of you," I said, my voice cold and final. "I belong to Alpha Ethan, remember? Our engagement is real to the world, and I intend to keep it that way. And as for you three... you are all engaged to other women. You have lives and responsibilities that have nothing to do with me."

Liam tried to step forward, his mouth opening to argue, but I held up a hand.

"No. I don’t want to hear it. Not another word from any of you," I snapped, the pain in my chest intensifying. "You talk about love, but all you do is fight and hurt me. Get out. All of you... get out of my room now!"

For a second, they didn’t move.

"Leave!" I shouted again, my voice trembling under the weight of the secret I was carrying.

They still didn’t budge. They stood there like three walls of muscle and stubbornness, their eyes locked on me with a mixture of shock and desperate longing.

"What makes you think I would ever choose any of you?" I spat, the words filled with pain. "I will never be with the men who ordered the hanging of my parents. Never! Get out!"

The silence that followed was choking. The color drained from Liam’s face, and even Leon’s aggressive stance faltered. The mention of my parents was the one thing they couldn’t argue with—the one sin they couldn’t wash away with possessive mind-links or fancy words.

"She’s panicking," Lila said, her voice sharp as she stepped between me and the triplets. "Look at her! You’re making it worse. Leave! Now!"

They saw the way I was shaking, the way my breath was coming in short, jagged gasps. Slowly, one by one, they backed away. Liam looked like he wanted to say something, his hand reaching out slightly, but Lila glared him down. They finally retreated, their heavy footsteps echoing down the hallway until the sound faded into nothing.

Lila didn’t waste a second. She slammed the door and bolted it shut.

I sank onto the edge of the bed, my strength completely vanishing. I curled my arms around my middle, feeling small and broken. Tears began to gather in my eyes, spilling over before I could stop them. I didn’t even know why I was crying anymore—if it was for my parents, for Ethan’s rejection, or for the three monsters who had just claimed to be my soulmates.

Lila sat down beside me, rubbing my back in slow, soothing circles. She waited until my sobs quieted to a soft hiccup before she spoke.

"I know, Scarlett," she said softly.

I looked up at her, my vision blurred. "Know what?"

"I know you are mated to all three of them," she said, her expression calm and certain.

My eyes widened, and my heart skipped a beat. For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. "How... how do you know?"

She nodded toward the door. "It’s so obvious, Scar. The bond is screaming. They are fools not to see it—they’re so blinded by their own egos and their rivalry that they can’t see the truth right in front of them." She paused, her eyes searching mine. "But tell me... why don’t you tell them? Why keep this inside when it’s tearing you apart?"

I let out a harsh, bitter scoff and wiped my face. "Did you not see what just happened out there, Lila? Did you not see them at each other’s throats?"

I stood up and paced the small space, my hands gesturing wildly. "If I tell them, they will practically kill themselves. They would never want to share me. Not in a million years."

I thought of the vision again. The blood. The bodies.

"They would rather see each other dead than see me in another brother’s arms," I whispered, the cold truth settling in my chest.
